  • Hi r u selling your dovii fry

  • Sorry I do not ship fish

  • Hey GuapoteMel, I'm pretty sure I got one of your fry from the wet spot about a year ago now and I have to tell you its one of the most amazing fish I've ever owned. I am soooo jealous of your setups and I'm actually looking into upgrading soon and I'm taking notes from these videos fior sure.

  • Thanks for the complements. Yes many of the fry have ended up at the Wet Spot. Take good care of him and enjoy.

  • Incredible tank! glad you have a 600 gallon!! You need it!

  • are those costa rican or nicaraguan?

  • Damn! this is the first time i seen a dovii that looks as good as Rampage.

  • The only piranha that actually has a temper on it is the black piranha. I dont see why you would want to put a waste of time fish in with a dovii. And I want to say that fish is a beast I cant wait until my yellow dovii gets that big!

  • Awesome guapotes man, I just picked me up a pair of F1 Costa Ricans from Conkel...

  • do you still have some of the off spring for sale? I had a male dovii right now at 3 inches. Can't wait for him to get big enough to start showing his true personality and colors. They are so cool!

  • I have a male dovii that's about 1'6". I tried putting him in with a female last week and he was terribly aggressive towards her and almost killed her. I guess some of them are just too aggressive to even try to breed because they try to kill anything else that enters the water with them.

  • I think if you can find your male a match then he won't attack her. Some are just picky over pairing up. Look for size and the mood of the fish that would be ready to breed. Unless if you bought a breeding pair in the begining that would make it easy and possible for you to breed them.

  • Your male is beautiful.

  • Thank you. He is also very hungry!

  • Nice, i was thinking about getting a pair for my 180gal. I was also wondering if you make your own tanks? I hear dovii can break glass tanks? ne ways, how does the plexi glass handle scratches, i looks very clear in the video but some imperfections i might not see, anywho let me know, and keep up the good work.

  • My tanks are all plexi glass. I had them built by a locale firm years ago. They do scratch easily but also they can be repaired with special sandpaper and elbow grease which glass once scratched can not. The plexi glass is much clearer and a better insulator for keeping in the heat and stronger for keeping in the Dovii!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thats a monster dovii! great tank also!

  • That's a beautiful fish....thans for posting! Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if you put a fully matured piranah in that tank, the male Dovii would absolutely destroy it...right?

  • Dovii are arguably the most agressive fish in the aquarium trade. A pirhana being nothing more than a tetra with teeth wouldn't stand a chance. Wouldn't be a very nice thing to do though.

  • I'm sure the piranhna would be destroyed because doviis are extremely agressive when they have to protect their fries. Or even one on one, piranhna would lose because pirahnna are only good in large packs when they hunt and eat their prey in a crazy frenzy feeding.

  • Wow, I wish I had room for a six hundred gallon, what exactly are the dimensions? Does it have full inch thick glass?

    Your Dovii pair are gorgeous.

  • It is 4 feet by 8 feet by 32 inches high. The tank is made from plexiglass as are all my tanks. Thanks for the feedback.

  • your dovii is the best dovii on youtube. legit tank as well, not generic w/ sand and a black background. two thumbs up!

  • Thank you for the complement. My pair just spawned again!

  • wow

  • super nice dovii...I always pronounced it do-vee though. Obviously that is the one, true pronunciation.

  • That male is Huge and nice tank too. The only thing is I don't think he's gone all that wild. My Dovii seems just as aggressive if not more so even when he's not guarding fry.

  • haha :DD My nick - Your fish :D

  • haha Tom! I was just thinking that too. I had a large male citrinellus that hit me pretty good during a distracted water-change, imagine what this brute could do.

  • it would even be cooler if you stick your hand in the tank...

  • Onward dovii fans!!!

  • Excellent Video. Your males a beast.

  • uh first off, way to be dumb. Second that dovii might get bit a few times, but I'm pretty sure your piranha would get killed. In any regard it'd be pretty dumb to put both of those fish in the same tank anyway.

  • My God, get out of fishkeeping, your mentality is juvenile and irresponsible

  • @thewatersnake In what way?

  • @Yeueow

Um... been two years, I think there was a fool that was commenting on who would win in a fight between dovii and piranha.

  • I have a better idea. Why don't you jump in with the piranha?

  • I looked at your video. It is hard to tell without seeing them better, but if I had to guess I would say they are both females. The easiest way to tell if either is a male is to look for little spots or specs of black/brown on the body and especially on the fins. Females never have these specs on the fins and very few if any on the body.

  • can u help me sex my dovii's,, i have a video up,,ones like 4inch and other 3',,, ive heard i might just have to wait,, was looking for someone with experience,,u seem to fit the part,, thanks,,,dope male he rocks
