  • Omg Telstar! Matt Bellamy would be proud of you!

  • Jesus fucking...buying!

  • 2:53 buckethead tappiing!

  • is there a version of telstar that sounds like the one played here? a cover or something?

  • Huh...could have used that in my version!

  • @tomnanD3

    You did great with yours.

  • Incredible.

  • now folks, this is what we call. pure genius

  • The Flaming Lips i think used a polychourus in Shine on Sweet Jesus when the first chord comes in (the chord is in G btw)

  • you know i think The Flamin Lips used a polychorus in Shine on Sweet Jesus. when the first chord which is in G u can hear that noise you made with the polychorus except the noise it makes goes down instead of up as it is in here.

  • I wonder what Joe Meek would have said if he could have seen this?

Probably "I TOLD you they were spying on me with rays!"

  • @stevedix

    HAHAH!!!

  • was the intro b4 the 3, 2, 1 liftoff thing done with guitar and effects pedals too?

  • @Tracebebo

Yes everything heard in the Effectology series is just a guitar and EHX effects.

That sound was a Esus chord held by the

in the HOG pedal in the freeze mode.

One froze I slowly raised and lowered the filter slider .

  • wow, thats amazing, idk how u do it. but that intro sounded really pretty tho! very spacey

  • @Effectology hey wats the fingering for Esus i wanna learn that chord so i can do that thing with the hog, lol

  • @Tracebebo

    022200 low to high=Esus

  • @Effectology Bill, you were a monster 28 years ago, and you're ridiculous now. Do you ever squeeze in any live gigs between the sessions and the product demos?

  • @lazur1

    Thank you!!!

I am afraid I am studio bound for now!

  • That is just breathtaking. Great stuff man.

  • PLEASE tell me how to get the PULSAR that choppy! ive had it for 2 months and the most it can do is a small pulsing.if you could tell me how to get it to a gated trem, itd be much appreciated, Mr. Ruppert.

  • In the right corner under more info you will find a link to the forum where you can see the Pulsar setting I used.

Its same or close to the setting I used for the Pink Floyd helicopters!

    Bill

  • what song is this?

  • the song is Telstar

  • Wow, the sounds are so cool! Thank You for sharing this tutorial! I love this cheesy Del Shannon Sound. so freaking cool! :o)But where are the Effectology Vol 01 - 06?

  • ahah, yeah hard on the wallet but these reviews rock! nice job!

  • Very cool indeed. But as someone said, these videos are hard on our wallets! :-)

  • And thus was born music for saturday morning anime cartoons and old video games ;P

Great stuff, I have a POG2 and love it; the band freaked the day I walked in and pulled off the keyboard parts for Since I Been Lovin' You.

  • nice work! EH is raising the bar for what other efx makers should be doing to demonstrate their products.

  • coolest one yet. nicely done guys.

  • Bill, you have done it again ... just incredible! WOW!

  • I love the drone at the beginning, how was it done?

  • The drone is a HOG in freeze mode with a Poly Phase sweeping up and down very slowly.

I also swept the HOG filter slider after it was in the freeze mode to do a counter sweep to what the Poly Phase was doing.

  • Wow, I didn't expect a reply so soon. Thanks!

    Shit, I don't want to need a HOG... I don't want to need a HOG... I don't want to need a HOG... I don't want to --

Anyway, these videos are awesome (though a danger for our wallets), keep 'em coming!

  • Do you remember exactly what settings you used? And also, could the manual sweep that happens with the HOG filter slider be done automatically by putting a MicroSynth right after the HOG? I'm not sure if they have the same parameters.

I REALLY like that sound and I had no idea it could be done with guitars and pedals like this! Reminds me of something very spacey, like waiting in line for Space Mountain at Disney lol...anyway, I'd love to be able to use this sound as a pad to solo over.

  • HOG sliders were original -fifth and octaves.

The filter needs to cycle so the MicroSynth filter would not work.

Just loop a few bars of the HOG drone into a Memory Man/Hazarai and then solo over it.

  • Thank you! I'm putting the HOG on my Christmas list....

  • Superb

  • You win.

  • Amazing! Yet another masterful use of tech in service of music. Go go Bill!

  • Great tribute to Joe Meek! I love the blast off! So cool!!!

  • Absolutely awesome!

  • Billiant stuff. Thanks for including the "How to's". Guess I have to buy everything EH makes now.

  • wow

  • so crazy
