nice, I have a line 6 UX2 toneport and it came with riffworks, I find it too confusing thou, I rather make my drum tracks in fruityloops and then do my recording in abelton live (also came with the UX2)
yep, works just as well as any other program, you use your own drivers and you can use vocal eq'ing built in, and if you have guitar rig 3, there are vocal effects
there's not a "vocal amp" but you can make one. Usually I use the tube instrument pre-amp effect thing as the main amp, and then I mess with the cabinets and the other effects
you could do that. I cannot guarantee that you'll get the best sound out of it, but its something worth trying.. i have a spider 3 amp too, so i competely understand. Heres the thing though, if that does not work or if the sound isnt right, the program comes with gearbox, which are the same effect modeling used by the amp.. its just a matter of creating your tone.
im pretty sure you cant connect your amp to to the computer like that.. you need to get a usb conversion hardware (like guitarport) for you to be able to connect.
cant i just plug my microphone in and set it in front of my amp cause i cant go directly from my line 6 spider 3 amp to the computer it wont let me record? i dont wanna buy something else just so i can record for a program that i havent even bought
Beaut cover, but turn that bloody treble down a bit pls. My ears are shattered, they're battered ...all over... Manhattan!! Sha doobie, shattered, shattered....
if you mean a pre-recorded back track.. no.. you can record the guitar, and you can record the back track.. but if you want to superimpose your guitar on top of something you didnt make, you need another software program (like SONY ACID or soemthing like that)
I used a stomp box effect with the gain turned down alot, a dark tone, and a high mix, I added medium hall reverb and a little echo but barely noticeable
you just plug the microphone into the guitarport and use the digital modeling effects to get a decent mic tone. Theres even some presets. Then just record as if it was any other instrument.
just connect the mic into the pod xt, and connect the pod xt into the computer via usb, i think it comes equipped for that, riffworks should recognize it and then use gearbox to edit the effects. It should work the same way as if it was a guitar or bass.
actually, yes. Riffworks is compatible with most line 6 products and i know it has a specific thing for it. It would require you downloading gearbox from their site, which is completly free, and following the instructions for pod xt live installation. you can also pay to get the gearbox upgrades which come with extra tones and such.
so I can plug the line out of my XT live into the guitar port input?? Will it be like a plug-in then? Letting me utilize the mic preamps and bass models from guitar port, as well as my XT Live amp models?
Cool cover! RiffWorks is probably the greatest $150 I've ever spent. I've made a crapload of songs, and you can record pretty much anything musical with an input/output. That means guitar, bass, microphone, keyboard, etc.
i connect my mic into guitarport by using the same input as the usual guitar is, if it doesnt fit, you can buy an adapter, but most microphones should fit. Also, yes, you can record over each at separate times by recording on different layers and then panning them or duplicating them as you wish for the right mix. Thanks for the comment and i hope my info helps.
i plugged it into a USB interface called guitarport from line 6, you can plug guitars, mics, bass and drums to it and then use the guitarport software to change effects.

This software is worth 150 bucks ALL DAY. Compared to other recording packages, this is easy to use and a blast to play with.
You need a decent mic (sm 58, 100 bucks), a pc mic will sound like crap.

a mic? cant you just use a 1/8mm Adapter... lol
