  • I guess this shows that BA might still love her after all!

  • the British Airways Livery sooo much more sexy than Air France

  • There are actually 8 fools who've disliked this video. Idiots!

  • énszerintem would not be now already pacifically kimonthattyuk how, szabotálták conkorde mükődését.since his adversary.singular airlines nemtudtak to buy ijen appliance.not his the machine bug so that as much died man.only the the szomoru so that ijen does not capture stream erték that so that the koncordot may not be fed up with, vonják the aviation tőrténetéből.

  • nobody knows why we cheered and applauded when the clock read: 1.00 mach one. the speed of sound

  • Still miss her

  • Nice video CONCORDE is a coooool plane

  • Respect to Tony Benn (commentating at various points on the Video) he could have cancelled the whole thing.

    Thankfully he didn't.

  • Incredible Goosebumps caused by the amazing video!

  • i feel i have to say... this video just made me decide i wanna fly for life. after years of ms flight simulator, plane spotting at my local airport and many videos on youtube, this beauty made all the doubt go. thanks for being such a nice plane.

  • I sat where the Queen has sat in Concorde.

    Only if she flew again.

Brings a Tear to my Eye.

  • SPREAD THE WORD LETS TRY GETTING A LEAST ONE OF THESE LADIES FLYING AGAIN

    save-concorde .co .uk

  • We'll never forget you, the finest aircraft ever to grace our skies. Power, Grace, Glory. Concorde.

  • Speedbird Concorde one your cleared for take off, two seven left, surface winds two, forty at ten .......... Speedbird Concorde One, Cleared for take off two seven left.

  • Concorde we miss you!!!

  • May the swan fly forever!

  • Goodbye Concorde, you will be missed, you were a beautiful plane that nothing else can match.... :' )

  • I thought this was the neatest plane to ever fly. I was so obsessed with it, that my parents got me the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 for Christmas just because it had the Concorde as one of the planes. 10 years later and I still pull out that game just to fly the Concorde at Mach 2. The British and French better have a Concorde flying over London in 2012!!! I hope the British government keeps a Concorde in service as a national symbol.

  • I live under the Heathow flight path and Concorde flew over my house on its final flight, I still remember that day ;(

  • @cheesemaster1000 Must've been a sight...

  • I remember as an 8 or 9 year old being obsessed with this plane that my parents drove from West Yorkshire to LHR so I could see it take off. And then when it came to Birmingham in 2003, I had to be there to see it - amazing.

  • wonderfully - who has composed them?

  • Thank-you for this wonderful video - every time if I it considers I get creeps - again and again!

It was a beauty and there will never again be an elegandere passenger plane.

  • a plane that was never going to forget will be the concorde "The Jetsons" that hurts

  • Going to see Concorde G-BOAF in Filton, Bristol. First time that I've ever seen this plane for real. I fly it across the atlantic on FSx and watch 100's of youtube videos on it and google images but I think seeing it for real will make me cry!

  • @jackmnsadler

Enjoy It, I've sat where the Queen sat.

Its sad But Brilliant. Long Live Concorde.

  • Very emotional video... I would give anything to see Concorde fly again

  • That plane flew for so many years, very well respected airplane.

  • i hope the 8 people who rated this video with a thumbs down die.....

    wonderful aircraft

  • Why conspurcate Concorde with this Phill Collins? Who´s he?

  • image is all!! an icone of an era!

  • Where has mankind's ambition gone? Its so sad majestic pieces of engineering like Concorde and the Space Shuttle which make us awe in amazement are being abandoned. No one is willing to take a risk for fear of losing money and global warming at this rate, either way, will destroy humanity as it destroys human's desire and ultimately chance of creating brilliant feats of human engineering. Living life will be pointless at this rate unless something changes

  • That was the prettiest airliner ever made.

  • does anybody know the title of the song?

  • Dear All,

    I have a curious question:

*How can we modify a concorde to make it more fuel efficient, more quiet and safer so that it can fly again?

THANK YOUIN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • the issue with concorde flight isnt making them more efficient, newer technology RR engines can already do that

the issue is with them being allowed to fly

and also whom owns the designs to concorde

Richard Branson has been trying for 8 years to fly it, but, he doesn't get along to well with BA due to their 1980s court case and views on business.

So basically - old ones not allowed to fly

and no new ones will be built unless the design owners wont sell up, or build new planes

  • Branson would fly these at a loss, look at his space program and his hot air balloon. never intended to make money ... but ... he does it because he is an entrepreneur

  • Concorde, though designed in the 50s and 60s, was still very technologically advanced when it exited services in 2003. That was a remarkable achievement. It was a shame that it had to be taken out of services. It must have been a pleasure just to look at it flying in person.

  • the British Goverment sold our Concordes to BA for £1 therefore the airline has the last say. Sir Richard Branson wanted to keep it flying under the Virgin Atlantic Airline, BA said NO! There is one sitting at the back of Heathrow (well was in Sept 09)

  • @mrmulligan1268 I'm 15 years old and the only Concorde I've seen is Prototype 001 at Duxford Air Museum. I think if I saw one again i would tear up becuase its just not fair for her, or her passengers

  • there are so many Concorde's just sitting there ready for supersonic flight and the public wanting to ride her! Anyone who works for BA must have a deep spot saying who cares about the economics let it fly! The public would buy tickets by there 1000's if it came back, the queen and world leaders hundreds of businessmen and stars would go and her and it would truly make the world a smaller and happier place.

Whoever the person was who said lets retire Concorde please take those words back PLEASE

  • It wasn't the airlines that killed Concorde...it was Airbus terminating support for the aircraft. It's hard to fly a 30 year old plane without spare parts....so if anyone is to blame, it's the Airbus Boneheads

  • very moving ...

  • 2:35 John Travolta??

  • Fantastic!!

  • Dear god why couldnt they just keep one flying

  • 4:04

  • god damn capitalism!!!!

  • @platinum24312

Capitalism is one of the forces that pushed technological development, we had the Concorde thanks to capitalism

  • it is depressing that capitalism puts an end to everything correct. americas obsession with annexation should be destroyed

  • brings a tear to my eyes

  • Im 39 and I have to agree with you !!!

  • What's a beautiful aircraft.....

    I wanted to operate that.

  • It's really a beauty of engineering, an excellent blend of beauty and performance

  • Sadly missed Perfect bird

  • It's something with those things from the past: it's passion. When I drive an old car from the 60's or 70's, it's so beautiful crafted, although it's simple, it brings a smile everyday.

  • blue skys forever concorde...........come back soon

  • What a Great video... just magnificent.

This background song. does it have a specifik name or something? Because I really like it! relaxing Piano and violin(?). just great.

  • Corncorde, the cadillac of the sky. Avation poetry in motion. :) Thank you. Sheer brilliance.

  • Or the Rolls Royce of the sky may be more appropriate (if I may say so hehe!)

  • Ok craigthomasbrown...fair comment hehehehe

  • Thanks voyager1able lol

  • ah...so cool...

  • Excellent video, a complete retrospective about of the real meaning of that perfect machine called Concorde, a great pride of the occidental civilization. The original images when the Concorde was been tested are very touching, equally the take off to the end of the video. Truly the equipment that designed the Concorde melted yours neurons, ha! ha!,that quality! I think that would be a challenge for the occidental civilization to make again a new Concorde. The Concorde was a great blessing.

  • I seriously hope that a new supersonic passenger plane will take to the sky before I die. Im 16 at the moment so there's still hope :)

  • lucky you!

  • muffigw

Not a hope. The Eco warriors have put pay that

  • The what...?

  • rudish

  • Nice to see Mr Dragonforce impressing us with his command of perjorative language. Seriously though, what a wonderful aircraft, and what a sad loss to aviation.

  • Forget the cockpit. If u had never seen this before and an airline wheeled it out tomorrow... they designed it on paper. Flew it on instinct. Something has been lost. I fly often on business class on many carriers and there is no excitement. I can confirm BA service up front is still the best and only what colleagues tell me. I moved abroad so do other carriers in C class. I have seen T5 though and I could name 20 airports that are better. That is a bit sad but Concorde should not be forgotten

  • i cant belive that it actully went out of businae it is great

  • the A2 is the replacement of the concorde

  • There will only ever be ONE concorde in my view. I know its a view many others share too, no matter what companies do, it'll never be as special, unique or groundbreaking as Concorde

  • No, it's a concept. It would take 20 years to develop ONLY if airlines are interested, and none have even considered it.

    Concorde, not 'the' Concorde.

  • 27 years beat that you new fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • theres gonna be bigger plane and 2 times faster than concorde its "A2" its goming around 2030

  • Bigger newer or faster..

the older slower and smaller CONCORDE will always be more special in my mind.

But however I'm looking forward to see this ''A2''..

  • No, only if airlines want it - there is no such interest at the moment if at all.

  • what is the music on this video?

  • What's the music in the background please?

  • Concorde was a beautiful aircraft, and I think they can get something like that flying again with a few improvements in the design. That way it probably won't have to be cut down again so soon. I don't know for sure.

  • The most beautiful aircraft ever constructed, it's very special that only British Airways and Air France, two great airlines, were the exclusive users of Concorde. Even though it has been grounded since 2003 it's still a great source of pride for Britain and France. Hopefully there will be a last minute push to get Concorde flying again for a London 2012 Olympic ceremonial flypast, one of the few ways for us to top the extravagence of Beijing!!!

  • This is true to an extent. Singapore Airlines shared a concorde with British Airways on the service between London Heathrow and Singapore via Bahrain in the late 1970s. Only one side was painted in Singapore Airlines' colours and only operated three times. Sorry to burst the bubble.

  • Actually she entered service with SA in December 1977 but the service only lasted 3 flights. However, she reentered service with SA again in 1979 and the service lasted nearly 2 years.

  • Well, whatever the technicalities and fine details are the main point is that AF & BA were the primary owners and users of Concorde and Singapore Airline's involvement was merely a leasing/co-operation agreement.

  • The aircraft did NOT enter service with Singapore. It was leased to them for a very short time. When it was leased it got the nickmname the Singapore Sling when it was in service for them.

BA Concorde was first in service from Heathrow to Bahrain when it was introduced.

  • dude, a suprise concorde flight at the 2012 olympics would be the BEST!!

  • It would be truly awesome!! At least we can guarantee the red arrows anyway. A flypast of concorde with the red arrows just couldn't be beaten.

  • We can't guarantee the Red Arrows either. The Government were talking about not doing it as there are military connotations, that might upset someone.

    Morons.

  • Yes I heard about that. There was some petition posted on the 10 Downing Street website vehemently opposed to such a confused PC doctrine. Around 35,000 people signed it (including me!) and the official response was that the Government weren't opposed to the idea. In fact the potential of such a proposal was celebrated. Hopefully not just media fodder & their pledge of support is genuine!

  • Upset who?

  • People who aren't British.

    It's stupid.

  • Not with a Labour Government in power!

  • @thepod24

if their were a most amazing thing ever , that would be it

  • kids growing up today will not be able the see concorde fly and that is a tragic thought. there farthers say

"back in my day we used to be able to cross the atlantic in under 3 hours.

and kids will not experience it. instead they will have to go and see a dead one in a museum.

  • Parfois la passion l'emporte sur la raison et les Hommes lui donne un nom : Concorde.

  • Wonderful video, I can remember Concord used to fly past my house everyday, that was so amazing it was. :-)

A beautiful plane truly amazing, I just hope we'll get more supersonic commercial flight in the future. I'm sure we will. :-)

  • funny me too

my aunt lived next to the

    mexico city airport

and lived in the 3rd story

    everytime when we visited

    and the concorde passed

    it was like an earthquake

big o sund and everything started to shake!!

    good old times!!!!

  • The most graceful plane ever built.

  • What an absolutely magnificent bird she was...indeed a beautiful swan.

Thanks a lot for posting this superb video.

  • People will react however they bloody well want to.

You don't even know how to spell Concorde.

  • concorde didnt die because of all the problems she had, she died because she was too advanced for all of us.

  • wat een vliegtuig echt super je mist het wel een a.u.b concorde kom weer trug in 2010 dit is pas een vliegtuig en wat een power

  • I saw an air france concorde at the air museum in America...near Dulles I believe.

  • i there only one concorde??

  • the best aircraft ever!!!

    the best thing ever!!!

    the best!!!

I so wunted to fly in concorde but i will never, but if i ever become a millonair, i promis i will bring her back!!!!

  • please bring her back to her former glory.

  • Why did they get rid of concordes?

I really want to go on one..

  • Old technologies have made it inefficient and airlines have expressively told aircraft makers they prefer low costs over speed. Plus, opposition in the U.S. over SST (super-sonic transport) due to noise issues have put a huge damper on future production. If we were to go faster than current aircraft, it would have to be quieter and efficient for it to pass in general.

  • I suppose.. they should still have a few concordes for the people that want to pay a little extra to fly in one.

  • I don't think i've seen one comment saying anything negative about Concorde, nor will I because Concorde is magnificent! =]

  • do you now that british airways does have still two of them in their garage and the queen wanted also that concorde woud fly but you see it isin't working

  • That's rubbish.

There is one redundant Concorde, G-BOAB, at Heathrow and that's it.

If Concorde were to fly again, BA would probably be the least likely people to be behind it.

  • wow! i love the concorde! its a shame that we dont get to see it much now adays! :(

  • Everyone type in Save Concorde into Google and click the first link.

Please pledge you support by signing the PETITION to get Concorde flying again for the like of the Olympics and major worldwide

    airshows!

    SAVE CONCORDE PLEASE!

(And I know I sound Desperate!)

  • I was astonished by (what it seemed to be) rush to turn all Concordes into museum artefacts.

I am not a UK taxpayer but since the BA got them for free and the cost to develop Concorde was like 20 billion GBP in today's money, Virgin certainly should have been given at least a chance to run them or keep 1 or 2 flying for special occasions - even at the cost of cannibalizing the rest of the fleet. Branson would be exactly the type of enterpreneur for such thing.

  • i would love branson to have be able to run one, id do it if possible, just for fun, round the world routes

  • BA wouldn't sell it, as for 27 years it is something synonymous with the airline and to sell it to a rival would be bad for them.

BA would have never sold Concorde.

It's sad, but thats what happened.

  • It is believed that if Paris was to have the 2012 Olympic Games. An Air France Concorde along with the La Patrouille de France would have opened and closed the Olympic Cermoney with a flypast.

It is also believed That Airbus and Air France technictians are keeping F-WTSB in flyable condition, in the event that Air France considers a one off event such as the Olympics.

  • this video show that once humanity had brilliant ideas and inventions, today everything is fucked up, we should awake ...

  • Yes, I will miss the Concord... She was a great plane...

  • Beautiful Aircraft, Now long gone, History!

Lets hope we can get her flying for the 2012 London Olympics Opening/Closing Cermoney.

  • Now that, my friend, is an absoloute awesome idea. People think that we wont be able to better the Beijing Opening Ceremony, if we used Concorde, we would simple blow their efforts away ! There is 2 Concordes in this coutry now that are still maintained on a regular basis as if they still fly, the fuel cells have been removed so they cannot start engines, surely we will see her fly again, maybe only once...lokk at the Vulcan for example, they said that would never fly again !

  • No. One aircraft in France, F-BTSD, is kept in somewhat a serviceable condition. It is only limited and it is far from airworthy, let alone in a taxi-able condition (Powered by it's engines') - And that is the most 'intact' one.

  • Americans losers..get out of this place now..another poorest nation after credit crunch..we will send some money soon to get you some food and water. think about supersonic passenger flight may be next century..

  • Makes me proud to be British

Here's to the best nation in the world

    Cheers

  • Somebody has a chip on their shoulder.

    Either way.

    Give us our money back.

  • what's wrong with you?

  • Why would the yanks do something if they couldn't make a profit from it (like world war 2) for example?

It was profitable with British Airways if only 60% full. That must of annoyed the Amerikans who knocked it all its life!

  • Concorde was a good(awesome) aircraft. We all know that.

    Boeing also makes good aircraft.

    Airbus also makes good aircraft.

It doesn't matter who made it. Planes are sopposed to make the world smaller and unite it too isn't it?

So stop being so racist and respect the planes!!

  • True, but watching 777 or A320 take off doesn't send shivers down your spine Concorde does.

It's like putting VW Golf or Chevrolet Suburban in the same class with FERRARI...

  • Yoganate.

When you create a passenger airline that can fly faster than mach 2, then you are entitled to have your narrow minded opinion.

    We will all be waiting.

The fact is a 40 year old peice of British/French technology was doing something the americans have never done. sad but true.

NASA tests are great, i respect them but doing tests and making a working airliner are 2 different things though.

I can assure you i will be an avid fan of NASA's concorde. I am waiting

    Good day

  • Concorde was so beautiful. She was the first aircraft to have Electronic throttle controls, along with Fly-by-wire technology even tho it used conventional dials in the flight deck. She has also clocked more supersonic hours than ALL of the world's airforces

  • yoganate79! your such a short sighted loooooser!

  • Don't be an idiot. This scramjet is only a test for things to come, and that technology won't be used for millitary purposes for decades let alone commercial services!

There won't be a direct replacement (considering these supersonic business jets) for many years to come, and it wont fly nearly as fast as that scramjet.

  • And don;t you be an idiot. The scramjet technology is ALREADY used by the United States Air Force and NASA. Its old news buddy and light years ahead of any other foreign government's military and aerospace hardware. A proven fact.

  • what does this have to do with Concorde? The Concorde was designed in the 60's. Besides the concorde carried over 100 passengers and crew. So shut the fuck up cause nobody cares!

  • How about you go fuck yourself?

  • As long as there are no scramjets or any other aircrafts flying across the Atlantic at supersonic speeds while carrying 100 passengers, Concorde will remain as the state of the art. It was and it still is a masterpiece.

  • Typical Narrow minded American. Still sour over the fact that British and French engineering is so much better than American. Any developed country can achieve supersonic flight but the way concorde did it was just untouchable. For as start just look at her, she's beautiful and she could travel at mach 2 in the seventees but with 100 regular people on boared is what makes it special.

  • ye but we did it in style, with 100 odd passengers onboard, in relative comfort and safety

  • And an excess of noise and NOx. The 747 trumped you then and it's still doing so today. And don't even start with the A380 crap; if you're a size queen, the Lockheed C-5was flying forty years ago...

  • gd point, but i was only comparing cocorde and the bell x-1

  • Indeed. A shame that these sorts of topics devolve into shouting matches over geography and politics... The Concorde was a fine aircraft, albeit one borrowing on supersonics pioneered in America. We ourselves didn't follow through on a supersonic passenger jet not because we couldn't, but because we foresaw the market headed in a different direction, a reality that has proven itself undoubtedly many times over. Cheers still to the Concorde; I love the aircaft and wish it was still here...:o)

  • Well, if you guy's think that Boeing can acheive supersonic flight, why haven't they done it yet?Maybe you guy's did the first military supersonic flight, but you sure didn't do it transporting 100 people. And you cant either transport +500 PAX with a fuel usage of 1L/100km/per PAX... Oh, and the 747 is one of the least eco-frindly planes still flying... This is why Air France is changing their 747 fleet and getting 777...

  • thank you alextownsend565hotm

  • for what?? lol

  • being on the Icelands side not like ravom20

  • What a wonderful tribute to the Concorde by BA. I had the distinct priviledge of travelling round trip on her and I can only say that this video brought tears to my eyes. Ever since I was a boy, I adored the Concorde and what she stood for, even if I didn't fully understand it. Alas, the experience was every bit as wonderful (and then some) as I had ever imagined.

  • Concorde orgasm

  • a beautiful piece of film, thank you very much, i loved watching it. Seen Concord many times and is still very much missed.

  • Very beautiful plane in the world, I love concorde...

  • people who crashed Rip

  • R.I.P. yesterday was 8th anniversary of the crash of the concorde :(

  • :( i miss concorde! i want to go in her but they took her out of service before i could have flight!

    arrrrgh man!

  • Deeply missed, the finest aircraft to grace the skies. i took the chance to fly to NY on the Concorde. Awesome. effortless and special.

  • Concorde, the Splendid... Seeing, or remembering her puts tears into my eyes. How damn could humans step back, give up, when such perfection was achieved?

    Thank you, CerealKiIIer.
