  • OMG!!! so terrifying!!! :(

  • annoying announcer,,, very tragic video..

  • one injury: a broken thumb.

  • global warming my ass. If this is a 400 year phenomena and the global warming scaremongers only started preaching about global warming a few years ago then how does the math work?

  • Climate change isn't really to blame, yes it rained. However, there are three rivers leading into one in Boscastle... Accident waiting to happen.

  • I remember looking out from padstow and watching the hugh cloud miles wide that caused this flood - its amazing no one was hurt

  • Gosh, that was a horrible flood and just been boscastle recently on holdiay (8th August 2011) and we've walked down them streets which were flooded and parked a car where it has been flooded. It's a miricale that no one died.

  • horrible _._

  • nice editing . -.-

  • damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • @2000yrCatholic Pillock

  • On behalf of the Americans who are not halfwits, and we really do exist, I just want to say that everyone that I have heard of who was directly involved in this handled themselves very well in an unprecedented situation. I've been in a flash flood, although not one this big, and I know how terrifying they can be.

Also, the helicopter pilots deserved medals for some truly impressive flying.

  • *syngatesbestbud101, well said, these fucking Americans do my headin! They think their so amazing but their all just fat ugly fags!!!!!

We can sort our own problems out, u should try and do the same!!

  • lol i was there

  • @MrImsokewl Shut up you prick. Boscatle is in the UK, not Ausralia and the flood of 2007 was truly horrendous. You need to learn some respect.

  • @MrImsokewl aussies??? this is in the uk and we cleaned it up ourselves thankyou

  • PLEASE COULD SOME ASSHOLE COME BlOW UP MY SCHOOL BECAUSE THEM FUCKHEADS MADE ME WRIGHT A 45 MIN LONG ESSAY ABOUT THIS VIDEO. DOING MY FUCKING HEAD IN! (BTW, ST BENEDICTS IS THE NAME) :L

  • @kizzaparkour You have to write an essay on this because it's the OCR GCSE curriculum... don't complain about the flood, everybody in the country does it. And, to be honest, it's not that hard.

  • @BowieGirl95

    stfu you retard :L

  • @kizzaparkour Um... how am I the retard? You're the one who can't even write an essay on a flood that was caused by obvious factors, such as the river being canalised and the trees being too close to the river upstream.

  • @BowieGirl95 fyi, i actually did the essay, and got a good mark, im just saying this is a fucking retarded subject.

  • @kizzaparkour Obviously you need to "wright" an essay on this, because your grammar is so terrible it makes me want to die.

  • @BowieGirl95

    go die then? asshole

  • I wonder ; How old is that town ?

  • me and my family got caught in this when we where on holiday in a nearby campsite. we had a tv in the car so we set it up, out it on top of the roof and everyone came round to have a look at what was happening. Later on we ended up beening on bbc news. Sad day for all the people who had lost everything

  • damn nature, you scary!

  • that is one intence scene

  • Take off the reporter and replace it with Panteras floods.

  • I have to do my Geography hw on this..

and this video is kinda fucked up.. :/

  • @ZoeJayneScott

    so do i

we have to do this stupid newspaper article thing

  • @Flyingstarstorm haaa. same!!

    whats your name?:).

  • Most of the buildings did stand, so they couldn't have been too flimsy. If that deluge had happened in many third world countries, practically nothing would have been left.

  • Read the Bible to make sense of the world today.repent as we are all sinners.Pledge yourself to Jesus and you will be saved. There ae mant Antichrists in the world already.Obama,Oprah maybe building mosque near ground zero saying the sermon on the mount is stupid calling on his Muslim brothers on National pray day to the white house and putting in jail 2 Christians praying in public. The Lord will punish him

  • @staining15 Shut the fuck up you monkey loving cunt!

  • @staining15 You brainwashed moron, your life is controlled by a book.

  • @staining15 your fucking weird dude

  • we better pay all gore more money he can save us from global warming. what a crock. it's called the sun. brainwashing at it's finest.

  • Omfgggggggggghgh

  • this is lol

  • AHH i'm like mad scread now O.o

  • I've just returned from a trip to Cornwall and can honestly say Boscastle is one of the most picturesque villages I've ever seen. Seeing it now, it's crazy to think anything so severe ever happened to it. They've done an immense job rebuilding the place.

Seriously, if you get the chance, give it a visit.

  • Obama caused this!!!

  • George Bush

  • I live in Cornwall there are lots of valleys like this with small rivers running through, lets just hope this never happens again!!!

  • the hand of GOD against the WITCHES of Boscastle we are in the end times.

  • @staining15 - ah yes, that must be why the witchcraft museum survived and the christian bookshop was destroyed...incidentally it's six years later, just when are these end times ever going to come?

  • @staining15 what a load of BOLLOCKS!!! yep were all doomed doomed i say DOOOOOOOMED who are you? a prophet?

  • i stayed in a camp site in boscastle just up the hill abit about june-july time when i saw what happened was devastating my mum and dad wne t for they're hunny moon back 20 -22 years agoo it was a real shame and horror to see what happened to the lush cornish village

  • RIP the fallen

  • @Warr1gal No-one died in the floods.

  • uk rules

  • I've gone and wet meself, bloody hell

  • Lol, I studied this im my geography class too :D

  • Did anyone die in this?

  • @MelikUK Luckily, no. I think four were injured. That's it.

  • im doin this 4 mi geogH/W rite now... but... does any1 find it strange that it was EXACTLY 52 years that day that a flood caused by the same actions of two rivers joining together happened in Lynmouth in "1952"! look at the figures and think bout it... its like mother nature's 'hate humans' aniversairy

  • George Bush caused that flood...

  • @ObamasWhiteAssMomma

    wtf you on about

  • i'm studing this for my Geography lessons, lol. The poor people! they must have been really frightened, i would, i would be one of those people on the roofs!!! Lol

  • same

  • i am doing about this in my school

  • Scary!

  • Imagine if there was 4 people in them 100 cars!

  • If only they watched chitty chitty bang bang for ideas for boat cars.

  • Danm wheres the shamwow guy now? lol

  • Gotta give huge credit to the armed forces and emergency services for the fact nobody died.

  • Shepards pie for tea....lovely.

  • Scary

  • damn nature, you SCARY!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I agree, it's truly amazing they didn't take GCSE geography into account in Medieval rural Cornwall.

  • Comment removed

  • damn sciencists need to aactually do something with their time like try finding a way for us tio breathe under-water

  • judgegabrannth, that's science fiction. No scientist could ever do that.

  • maybe a million years of evolution lol, or snorkels?

  • That's the scariest flood footage I've ever seen.

  • ive been there a few years ago, a beautiful little village... saw photos of this everywhere. Speaking to the locals around there, everybody all has a story to tell about this.

  • Props to the RAF and the emergency services for a magnificent rescue operation. Plus, props to the traditional builders for building properly. If this flood went through a new-build estate, it would have been a different story.

  • Wow, you're a idiot aren't you. It wasn't 'excitement' that surrounded Boscastle, it was dread and terror. It wasn't some tiny flood but a pretty major disaster for a small village community. And what basis do you have for the statement about the UK not giving a crap about disasters in poorer countries - I'd love to see your evidence for that...

  • @whiteorchidblackswan You bloody pommes think you have it so bad.

  • @whiteorchidblackswan

this was copied of the bbc

    i smell a lawsuit!

  • Same goes for most places, I'm afraid. Human beings are just like that, we're all more interested in the things closer to home. Still, many of us do care about other people, however far away they may be.

  • When there's a disaster in a developing country - we (the UK) send shelter boxes, specialist search dog teams, hundreds of thousands of our hard earned pounds, food and expert help for regeneration. When there's something like this in the UK, we're lucky if we even get help from our own government, let alone anyone elses!

  • Hey you are so right couldn't agree more, I don't give a shit about anything unless it happens here; why should I. Did the world club together for these poor people, NO!! we look after our own!

  • England is poorly prepared for any type of natural disaster, the dense infrastucture and high population density just spells HUGE disaster waiting to happen, mark my words.

  • I presume you weren't there when it happened then.

  • don't talk shit.........

  • Why is it shit? It's the truth.

    Explain why i'm wrong.

  • and the united states isnt dumb? we elected a marxist president that wasnt born here

  • yes but a HUGE disaster only happens every like 50 years

er. How many hurricane have you had now?

I mean two in such a short space of time is bad

  • What a load of obscure crap. It was torrential rain. I was there! I didn't see ET or any of his mates!

  • gosh i bet 10000 guys dide

  • omg no one died i mean wow

  • @Philmore74

    Sadly, no...

  • lol...I was watching TV now and there was flash flood warning :D

  • im starting work there tomorow laying drain pipes evidently!

  • I'm doing this for A-level

  • im doing it as a case study for my gcse's next week =( so scared xD

  • Im using it as a case study for tomorrow!!! I'm gonna fail :(

  • i am doing this in college it is part of my work that i am doing in my public services course

  • IM DOING THIS IN SCHOOL VERY USEFUL For hw thanks

  • i go to boscastle c.p school

  • Obviously the inbred timmo2k is not from Boscastle. The resilience of the locals from this natural disaster is unbelievable and my sincere thanks to the many volunteers who helped to clean up the carnage and restore the village back to it's natural beauty....except to the engineers who decided that the new toilets would be best positioned at the front of the car park, but hopefully the sewage system has been properly repaired! My hats off also to Prince Charles who helped contribute !

  • Thank man! You helped me alot on my geography homework!

  • This video is well done

  • we not get floods ove ri nashton u poor ppl

  • i live in boscastle and i know that ladie debbie bezant,

  • isnt like the whole village related in some way? i mean, it is cornwall after all.

  • nah, not everyones related its just a small village, so you get to know every one if you know what i meen?

  • yeah man, i was joking really. its good to laugh at, but we know inbreeding doesnt happen in cornwall like the jokes say. But norfolk on the other hand...........

  • haha, i never been up there as of yet.

  • i visited boscastle in the late 90s...we went to the witchcraft museum...i heard a rumour that museum survived (untouched) by the flood...is that true?

if so - it proves that boscastle is the satanic capital of britain...we saw devil-worshippers when were there...i blame the flood on the christians moving in - and taunting satan to come and claim them for his own....

  • yeh the witchcraft museum is still here,, it wasnt untouched but its still there.

  • The ground floor of the Witchcraft Museum was flooded but it did very little damage to their collection. .

  • thanks for the information, morgan...hope to return to boscastle in the autumn...cornwall is my second favourite place in england (after brighton)...

  • Just incase you didn't know, the only ingury that occured was a broken thumb.

No joke! i learnt that in geography class.

  • @thoron110 why don't you learn to spell you thick shit?

  • @southbristolsfinest Somebody has had a bad day, I was 12 when writing this so I don't think that spelling one word slightly wrong was too bad :)

  • @thoron110 Dry your eyes wet wipe.

  • I'm researching the Boscastle flood and would love to hear from anyone with first hand experience of the flood who would be happy to share their experience.

  • I wasnt in Boscaastle that day but just outside it - driving down roads that were like rivers - a very scary day.

  • I just visited Boscastle, I stood on that bridge that is getting swallowed! :o

  • its amazing nobody died

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know how I could get hold of a better copy of this footage? =)

  • Yep, I think its raining.

  • thanks everyone u guys helped wi my hmw

  • I am glad I live on one of the highest land masses in Dorset, England.............Portland.

If my road is flooding, that means the rest of England is as well.

  • what a dumb thing to say cornwall is nearly totally cut off from england by the tamar so whats that got to do with cornwall?

  • woah it doesnt seem that long ago cos i was in like year 7! but remember it; such a shame cos it was such a pretty little place beforehand =( x

  • i was there just 2 days before that flood visiting my nan ana grandad they just live on the hill coming up from the newsagents they didnt get hit though luckily no one died which is soooooo lucky

  • im glad i dont live near a river

  • Woah. Creepy. Thank god that doesn't happen in Sweden.

  • Bloody hell mate!

    Balls the the British

  • right you are, 'arry!

  • i remember that day, i was about 20 miles away at the time, my uncle was in the rescue helicopter, thank god no one died. i went to boscastle this summer, its not the same, but its ok, there redoing the car park, because the last one was tarmac and so the rain just swept thru!

  • we were on holiday in nearby camelford with our three sons then aged 3,4 and 6. we visited lands end and got caught in the rain, they still talk about it. when we ghot back to our hotel in michaelstowe near boscastle it was like a disaster movie. we went swimming in the poo which had a glass roof and watched rescue helicopters ferrying people in. my boys thought it was like a disaster film. was a truely unique experience to go through as a family.

    memories?????

  • @Brettyvincent I don't think taking your sons to swim in the poo was a very clever thing to do.

  • I was there 2 weeks before it happened i remember a bridge i saw, thats now gone

  • it was well scary when i arrived wid st john ambulance it jus so happened we had planned to do an excercise that evening in a river near by till we got the call of emergency. one of my colleges broke a leg there trying to save somone.

  • Norwich Union wouldn't pay out on my loss of car . 'We Don't make a drama out of a crisis they say'

Bunch of wankers i say! I don't bother with insurance now. These floods are gonna get more common.

  • i wer there

  • Thats my white van at top of carpark, written off. Had to catch train home but no one hurt, have been back every year on the 16th.

  • Is Edinburgh next to a river?

    hmmmm

  • I remember that was a sunny day where i was in devon!

  • Certainly a tragedy, but one has to wonder what the people who founded the village were thinking, settling so close to a river. Rivers flood, period.

  • Every major city in the world is next to a river. Do some research and you will find out why.

  • yeah i was going to say... pretty much all settlements begin near a river.

  • im from bude just down the road. i was in boscastle the day before this happened jumping off the break water im just thankful i didnt go one day later or i wouldnt be around today.

    great video

  • you just helped me with my homework:)
