Just b'cos he wrote the song, doesn't mean he was talented enough to give it the justice it deserved. The Blind Boys made that song, for me. You are entitled to think otherwise. It won't change my mind. THEY gave the song the life it needed, whilst he almost strangled it, in my opinion.

You can find this on the Ben Harper Pleasure + Pain DVD by Danny Clinch released in 2002.

And yeah this is a beautiful version by Ben. Soul music is is rarely done in such a convincing manner today as some artists seem to be singing only for their own glory, but this song comes straight from the heart. Gives me goosebumps.
