  • So, how come there are natural powerlifters at IPF who has a lot bigger total than Louie has ever had? Daniel Grabowski anyone?

  • you can use westside unless you understand the principals of westside... westside isnt just a dynamic method or a maximal effort method, its also a repition method and a few others - all are taken from soviet union olympic lifting coaches - if you ever wish to truely understand westsides methods and how that type of training works then start buying books on soviet union olympic lifting coachs and read everything you can and analyse every book and take notes - louie is a genious end of story.

  • wu tang sample as well

  • I don't know about Shogun Assassin (I will watch it today), but "When the Last Sword is Drawn" is pretty damn good.

  • Which Westside video is this from?

  • It is a surprisingly good movie that is multi-layered and even deep. The blood spilled is ridiculous but that actually makes it much less gory because you can't take the blood seriously. "Lone Wolf," who is the star, is terrific but I wonder if anyone else has commented on the role of the son. It's the best acting performance I've ever seen from a very young child.

As far as Westside is concerned, no amount of watching can capture the incredible intensity and value of working out there.

  • Does anyone know if Daigoro took steroids too?

  • There are many lifters at Westside who do not take steroids. I'm not a member but Louie has had me workout there a number of times and I've never taken steroids. No one there ever tries to sell you on steroids and any serious gym in the country is a source to buy them. I don't care what you take, you're never going to get the results Westside gets unless you're there. It's the constant coaching, the dedication and the hard work that produce the results. You choose to commit to the rigorous work.

  • Can you tell me the names of some of the natural lifters at Westside? I'm natural and I've tried the Westside routines. Not only did I not get stronger, but my lifts actually went down. No one is saying that Westside lifters don't train hard. Of course they do. However steroids allow the lifters to train harder and heavier than a natural lifter and make greater gains if they are dedicated. They wouldn't be as strong as they are without steroids. To say otherwise is being dishonest.

  • I'm not a member; I live in Indy, 3 hr drive to Westside. Don't know a lot of the guys. Off the top of my head, I know of some but let's get to you. Advice: spend 6 weeks dragging sled, reverse hypers, glute ham raises, band good mornings, heavy ab work. Work on form, empty bar up to a 100 reps. Have someone knowledgeable coach you. Starting Westside, do barest minimum. Little supplementary work, no accessory work, rest 3-4 days/week. Back off on some percents, lift with coach. I'm out of room.

  • Thanks for the advice. I tried most of the things you mentioned and followed what I saw in Westside videos. Used the conjugate and dynamic methods but it just didn't work. I'm sure having Simmons and other lifters who know what they're doing is a big help to all the lifters at Westside. You have someone who can evaluate you and give you feedback on what you need to work on. People like that are hard to find though.

  • Enjoyed our discussions. Best wishes for your future lifting success. Also, I will be at Louie's seminar in Columbus OH on April 24-25 (see his website). Think you would enjoy it as well. Take care.

  • I started my now 15 y/o son on WSBB stylle training 2 years ago. In fact I can remember the very first time I taught him to squat, he kept saying "owe, owe, owe", complaining about how the bar felt on his traps...I still kid him about it, it was funny as hell. Anyway, our current training includes other things too, but WS is still a large part of it. He's doing great and I have a lot of fun training him. I hope that helps somehow. Best of luck to you.

  • drugs arent a scapegoat. im drugfree and made great gains changing my training around to some of what louie teaches. i just started so i dont need any big fancy shit. i keep it pretty basic. bench squat and deadlift training days. do 1 or 2 core exercises and go for a new pr 1-3 reps. and maybe an accessory exercise. bit of sled pulling here and there. i dont know pretty basic stuff at first. once i start getting into heavier weights and plateauing ill get more indepth on the training

  • @foottothroat21 who cares? fuck the youtube/computer, that's why eastern europe excels in this particular disciple, being fake and full of shit may get someone far in bodybuilding, where image, marketing ability and ass kissing gets someone far, but not strength, no amount of marketing and ass kissing will produce a 1300 pound squat, being humble and being extremely real to yourself is the only way. something america has lost a long time ago, sell your computer and live on welfare to be strong

  • jbjb9402: See comments posted top of list though I tried to respond directly to you. Trying to be genuinely helpful with "Advice." Though know Westside guys, & top ones, can't say they're friends. Louie and I are friends; he was first to use that word. Didn't mean to imply can't get results elsewhere. Chicago-Quad's Gym;Nebraska-BIG Iron;CA-Joe Avigliano;PA-Nazareth BB;Upstate NY Bill Crawford, many others. Contact me, Joe D: Westsideblog web pg. Mini-bio there. Will try to refer to gym near you.

  • honestly if you have not had any gains you probly are doing it completely wrong haha. im all natural and have seen incredible gains using it. i thought i would only see these kinds of gains if i took steroids.

  • That's bullshit. Your lifts went DOWN using the Westside Template? hahahahaha

  • In a documentary called, "Bigger Stronger Faster", Louie Simmons admitted to taking steroids for 36 years. He also said that a lifter can not get as strong as possible without steroids. Hard work and dedication are important factors, but you can't reach an elite level without drugs.

  • I never said guys at Westside don't take steroids. Louie is a truthful guy & tells it as it is. To reach ultimate strength you may have to take steroids. If by elite you mean elite as defined by federations, yes you can get there without steroids. There are elite totals posted in drug-free federations that are elite in non- drug tested federations. I've trained a couple of times with Erwin Gainer, USAPL 9 X National Champion runner-up many IPF Worlds; I can tell you he is definitely drug-free.

  • @jbjb9402 What the fuck is your point?

  • @jbjb9402 yeah lol, tell that to Paul Anderson, Bob Peoples, and Eugene Sandow, Paul Anderson squatted 1200 pounds for 2 reps before your grandfather was even born, for REAL! even in old times, Milo The Wrestler lifted a 365 POUND stone to his chest documented by Plato in Meno's Paradox, this is even before JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN! a human being is the most remarkable species ever created by god, and very few have even come close to maximizing its full potential, most haven't even scratched it.

  • @jbjb9402 you're so full of shit, louie wasn't even in Bigger Faster Stronger, and also there is no such thing as an elite level! cause records change all the time, and specific gear based on specific organizations produce different results, plus all you internet people especially americans ARE WAYYY TOO EMOTIONAL ABOUT TRAINING, WHY? just do you, and do things by trial and error, and make things exciting and full of life, for you, that's the only thing that matters, fuck others, do you first!

  • @kalai131 The name of the documentary is "Bigger Stronger Faster" and it's posted here on YouTube. They visit Westside Barbell and they did an interview with Louie Simmons where he admitted to being on steroids for the last 36 years. Just do a search for "Bigger Stronger Faster" here on YouTube and watch it for yourself.

  • the movie was good but the series "Lone Wolf and Cub" it's much better

  • There are a lot of skull spitting slashes with the mystic blade and it is AWESOME!

  • Westside Barbell, which is only persued by a select few. It is a journey into hell for as many years as you can stand it, but in the end you will end up in heaven.

    You must choose.

  • It's a lifter's paradise. How great would it be to go there, lift heavy, and only get stronger and bigger? the "hell" comment is for those "fitness" losers who think they are pushing themselves to the limit. HAH!

  • I completely agree man. If there were two places I could train, it would be at the gym with Ryan Kennelly or at WESTSIDE BARBELL!

  • God! I love that movie too,I saw it when I was a kid, cool movie for a cool man(Louie)and for the coolest gym out there thanks for the video.
