@KooldaKat When I was a child my grandparents had a farm and I loved visiting them during the holidays. I enjoyed playing with the rabbits, the lamps and the chickens and still they were my food at the end of the day. :)
@antaress8128 You're very lucky to have had the chance to visit a farm as a child. :) But when you played with the animals I'm sure you didn't throw them in the air and cripple them. By the way, I didn't know 'lamps' were edible! ;)
Was the rat playing possum? During the time the fox played w/ him, he made some token attempts to sneak away, suggesting he wasn't altogether traumatized. Maybe rats learn from opposums by imitation. They're probably smart enough to.
i was walking my dog in a medow one day then he started to press his chest against the ground and growled (hes a jack russell hunting dog) i looked at were he was pointing and saw a fox in broud daylight i was watching it like aww :D then it jumped and after a few minuted came back up with a rabbit (it jumped into a ditch thing near water) it then went back into a hole it was also the right time for cubs it was well cute :D
this clip reminds me of my kids at the dinner table.. they will play with their food for ages until i promptly tell them no pudding or sweets if they dont eat up. do foxes tend to be this timid and playful with food before eating? genuinly interested to know. thanks for posting. watched most of your clips and enjoyed the photography. nathan in dorset
As we can see here, even animals are subject to mental illnesses, this fox is playing with the rat but it doesn't know it is causing harm, in general this is not how most foxes behave, at least not that I have witnessed over the years and through countless other videos, so I say something is off a bit with this fox, still, a very well done video.
I like the style you have on youtube, uploading nature on your channel, keep it up and show everyone what were missing and also show how its like to see nature from your prespestive.
talk about adaptability! [urban setting] I remember seeing a fox trotting down the edge of a field in Co. Kilkenny and how nifty it was to see one in the wild, it had this knowing look on its face, looking over its shoulder-really memorable-this is a great video btw slan, Jim
As usual your intellect has let you down. I have commented on your foolish drivel before but you have exceeded all expectations with this your latest piece of retarded rhetoric. The reason people consider you to be a troll sweetheart is because your comments are so crass; so utterly banal that they think you're trying to be inflammatory. Most don't realise that you're actually very very stupid. I would surmise that the rat was dead by the time the fox was chewing on its head wouldn't you?
sir you are by far the most impressive camera expert ive seen in a long time, ok i dont like to see death of any sort but this clip was realy beautiful and fascinating ..
The fox is such a beatuful creature ...thank you so much ..
@greedlusthate It’s a rat, not a mouse. It looked like it’s insides were mangled more then it trying to play dead. I think it died about half way through the video... or that’s what it seemed like to me.
This is an extraordinary video again, I have the impression that each video you post is a unique piece of visual art. I feel privileged watching these spectacular videos which are a special tribute to wildlife. Thank you very much !

This is what I really hate about foxes; playing with their food. At least the Grey Heron didn't play with the rat or the duckling. :(

I'm amazed that it let you film it so close. Is it because of the differences of environment between urban and countryside foxes?
shl00909 1 month ago
@shl00909 It is a city Fox and i was filming at a distance that it was not bothered with and it did not know i was there.

I'm afraid I got bored before the fox did. I don't know if the rat found it very fascinating either.
