  • just saw him tonight live and at 60 he still rocks

  • Rick, still has the voice and the looks, so don't feel alone my friend been there and done that. and came out on top. Because I took control of myself and fought to stay there. So rock on RICK. LadyProwler

  • still love this tune and it rocks just the same today

  • he's just as awesome today

  • @seriara

    Yes he certainly is.

  • Shame the audio isn't a little cleaner... great classic from the 80s, thanks for the up

  • I love Sammy, but this is definitely Rick's song! LOL!

  • Met Rick @ book signing and he is a real class act. And yes, he pwns this song over Sammy.

  • Met Rick about 3 weeks ago @ book signing...great guy.

  • Rick, thanks for making my Jr. High years so great! Even in High School, I saw you at the Forum in LA in 1985! So great!!! Too bad you have some major issues with monogamy, and if I knew this in 8th grade, I would have been shocked. We are all human. Hope you can pull it together in the last years with your wifel

  • I dedicate this song to every woman I've ever dated :D

  • @19NaVi72 lmao

  • yeah Rick rock on! he is so awesome,I am a long time fan,,, keep rockin Rick we love you!

  • Didn't he play Dr Noah Drake on some soap opera?? Great video and also my favorite song of his..

  • @zoggy1950 YES IT WAS GENERAL HOSPITAL IN THE EARLY TO MID 80'S BEFORE JESSIE'S GIRL HIT

  • @marc08110 Actually Rick started walking on the Work Class Dog Album in 1980 (all the songs except this one were written by Rick) and the album was about to be released when he was hired on General Hospital. Keith Olsen who produced this song and Jessie's girl advised him not to do GH, that it would hurt his cred but he was worried the album would tank and needed the cash. He started working on GH in like Feb. of 1981, the album came out maybe a month later. His autobiography came out this week.

  • i have vague memories of him being on General Hospital???? my mom watched that soap opera and i was a teen in the 80's, but was more into the doors, zeppelin...great mtv memories here-chicks loved this guy!

  • he is so yummy...voice, looks, and eyes! Yeah! <3

  • oh yes!!

  • Dang he is so HOT! I've seen him at least 5 times in concert. Once with America out near Santa Cruz, CA and boy that was soooo fun!

  • Rick really spoke from the heart when he wrote this song.I 've done everything for you.I can really relate to the lyrics where im at a time in my life now being in a local band here in FL. and the everyday trials and tribulations that is placed on me,Thanks Rick for your inspiration.TAMMY!!

  • @zanespringfield I'd agree with you if not for the fact that he didn't write this song, it's a cover.

  • @zanespringfield

Except for the fact Sammy Hagar wrote this song.

  • there once was a day when a Cuban skinny bassist sang this...

  • I would pass out if I ever met Rick!

  • Oh Yeah Baby, Rock It!

  • Although Rick did a very good cover, I still prefer the Red Rocker's verison over the Ricker's!

  • Happy Birthday Rick!

  • He was 32 here and he looked about 20 something. Now he's 61 and looks 40 something. Gorgeous man.

  • hello doctor.....................

  • He is so Sexy...

  • recuerdo ochentero...........1981

  • I have been a long time fan and still sing to his songs in my car. Now that I am 40 my kids are listening to him and like all my 80's music. It's amazing how all the new artists are taking the 80's songs and remaking and adding them to there own music. That obviously says something about the 80's....when music had words, beat and great sounds....

  • JenJen Of course Sammy's is better. Sammy wrote this song and gave it to Rick back in the early eighties when Rick recorded it. Sammy did it later and with a whole lot more money to produce it with. I dont think anyone would disagree with you that Sammy is a better rocker than Rick, BUT Rick was still awesome in his time and Sammy would never be given any Leadman roles on TV. lol Cheers

  • classic early 80's song, makes me want to get up and dance, so glad that it is here.....

  • Just saw him yesterday....Rick still rocks the hell out of his many guitars!!! Amazing show!!!

  • This song is dedicated to every single one of my ex-girlfriends. I'm better off without you, and you have no idea what you're missing.

  • classic 80s song, cant get enough

  • this rocks pretty good. nice power pop.

  • The guy has obvious anger issues but he is so dam cute. I still love you Dr. Noah Drake!!

  • Damn!Rick can REALLY play the hell out of a guitar!

  • Jesus Christ, Rick is such a STUD.<3 SRSLY.

  • @AAAMTD i know. it's insane how HOT he is. he was sexy then and now still smokin hot.

  • Memories...I had a whole wall covered with his posters...and I still have his album (yes...album)

  • rick springfield is more rock than rap....

  • What a FOX!!

  • seen him in concert 3 times and would go again

  • wat genre is rick springfield because my bands inspiration is him

  • Rap i think....

  • Rick is the best

  • love this song!!!

  • Nice Butt!

  • cool.

  • They used to play this song all the time at the Palmyra Drive-In Theater in Palmyra,NJ. Can you get more 80's than Rick Springfield at a Drive-In Movie in New Jersey?

  • CHECK OUT THE WAY HE MOVES HIS FINGERS AT BEGINNING OF VIDEO>>>>>>>Im in heaven

  • Sammy Hagar wrote this song and said when he heard Rick do it, that Rick now owned the song. Sammy likes Rick's version better.

  • My song describing my married life

  • LOL!

  • The only song I like fro, Springfeild is this one, but its a really good song to crank up!

  • muy bueno el video(Y)

  • Sammy's original smokes this.

  • I agree filter69relic.

  • awsome video!!

  • Totally the story of my life too. Unfortunately some people are givers and some are takers. And some people are selfless and some are selfish assholes!! Grrrrr!!!! Haha

  • @trashwuman damn skippy!!! I agree!!!

  • This song is the story of my life

  • This Shows Contessa Brewer Dont Care About Herself & Her Secret Lover Dan Abrams.

  • Oh come on Rick. She must have done something! I think we are hearing one side of the story. Hey lady in red- what really happened? Why did you walk out on Noah Drake? Tell us all, pray tell!

  • The lady in red is Hagar in drag. j/k

  • Sammy let Rick have the song. Sammy acknowledges that in his concerts to this day thanking Rick for making it a hit. A good collaboration obviously!

  • @djsmom93

Sammy sd on a "Behind the Music Special about RS that he got chills the first time he heard Rick's version because he thought it was done so well if not better than his. Of course it's not like Sammy wasn't arlready mega successful at that time with his own career. Great song.

  • Great song (love the lyrics -- the subject is very familiar to me and probably to a lot of people who've been burned by someone before), thanks for posting!

  • I remembered the melody of this song after hearing the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' "The Impression That I Get". Couldn't remember the title, but i knew it was a Springfield song.

  • Love this song!! Loved hearing it on Californication : ) What a great scene!!

  • Sammy Hagar wrote the song but Rick Springfields version is better explain that?

  • Neil Giraldo is doing the guitar. That explains it.

  • I gotta say this song hits home so many times with its lyrics. Dam bitches.. only want your money and do nothing for you in return. Tonight I'm out with the boys and gonna have fun!!!

  • was that richard marks playing bass? looked like him. could've been him based on the time period.

  • nah.. richard marx is short. that dude is taller than rick springfield.. and R.S. is a tall guy. not too mention that bass player is kinda too ugly to be Marx. lol.

  • I Did Had A Lot Of Money But Last Night Contessa Brewer Show She's A Gold

    Digger.

  • rick springfield had a mental ilness?

  • He took his father's death really hard. There is a song he wrote on Success hasn't spoiled me yet...something like August 14th that he wrote for his Dad. Plus I think the stress of rising to the top so fast was hard on him.

  • Great Cover of a Sammy Hagar tune!!

  • Springfield did it first.

  • This was on Ricks 1981 album working class dog.

this came out on sammy hagar's loud and clear live album in 1980. sammy also wrote the song and music. and i know it was on a album before the live one i just cant remember.. thanks CRASH`

  • Well Hagar wrote it and gave it to Springfield.

  • Sammy Hagar wrote it so how did Rick do it first?

  • DIMPLES!!!!! i luved this song back then n i still luv it now!! doesn't matter who recorded it 1st, it's the fact that it was a hit that matters.

  • I've been a rick lover since 1980, and I'm always just stunned by how his music evolves and changes again and again! He's such a great song-writer, but MAN! What an emotional mess he is, and that's a fact. I was happy to see him go public with his mental illness years ago. For me, it made him "human," and no longer unreal. Know what this old gal means? old means 42 LOL!

  • Yes, he was on Prozac there for awhile but I bet his wife made him that way.

  • Just remember this song is Sammy Hagars!!!!

  • you're right! and Sammy admitted that own version was nothing compared to Rick's. he said on his own album it didn't generate much attention, then RS made it a hit. I think both are great! Love that Rick.

  • Ive heard both versions.... AND...with all due respect to Sammy...Rick's version is WAY better...

  • As a young boy in the 80's I wanted to be just like Rick. I tried to wear my hair like him. I wanted to dye it black but my mom wouldn't let me. The chicks loved this guy and I loved the chicks. I would have gave anything to be this guy back then. He also had some good music.

  • Experiences: I've seen RS in concert 5 times & he NEVER disappoints! I was tanning on Venice Beach, CA back in time. Us girls we're singing HIS songs and out of nowhere came a small, snickering, shadow that barely covered our faces. It was RS in the flesh. He was SO sweet & ROCKIN, Hella HOT! We all chatted and got his autograph, then he quietly disappeared and it was a GREAT day! LOVE RS for life! He is STILL HOT!

  • Shows Contessa Brewer Dont Care About Noone But Herself Bottom Line

  • saw Rick a few years ago and he still rocks it and is soooooooooo fine !!

  • One of my goals in life is to see Rick in concert and get to meet him back stage. RICK ROCKS!!!!

  • Love me some Rick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I <3 <3<3 Rick's body, hair, face.. oh.... so gorgeous.

  • Happy Birthday Rickbabe!

  • haha, I used to cut and comb my hair like him...80's rocks

  • I have this album on vinyl. Every song is outstanding!

  • I still love Rick!! He's getting better & better with age... He's still is gorgeous to this day & i'd still marry him!!

  • you aint the only one lol stand n line or take a number like the rest of us yes hes a hottie still !

  • wow, i haven't stood in line for RS tickets since 1983! Good ol' Rosemont Horizon in the Chicago area. I swore that Rick and I had a sort of paranormal connection and that if only we could meet he'd know it too! What a maniac I was, but harmless

  • Just got back from seeing Rick!! He ROCKED!!

  • for all of you who think this is cheezy and gay. just remember rick was the justin timberlake of the early 1980's. more girls wanted to bear rick's children that justin could ever think of.

    He still looks that delicious.

  • Rick Springfield=Pure Awesomeness

    'NUFF SAID

  • This song is actually a cover from Sammy Hagar. This is one of those really rare cases where I think the cover is better than the original.

  • brilliant..thank u

  • I love this song!!! I hadn't heard it for years and I just heard it when I was at the grocery store, and I hurried home and looked it up on good old Youtube.

    Ahhh Rick is divine...

He always destroys something in his music videos. Like the mirror in Jessie's Girl and the record player in this. Haha.

  • It's Rick... what more needs to be said?!?!?

  • i use to go with a guy that sort of looked like the guy singing with Rick.

  • I loved him more than Chocolate pop tarts

  • I am taking my mom to his concert this summer...........She is so EXCITED!!! She loved him back in the day!

  • good song

  • WHAT a HOTTIE!!!!! =)

  • rick is definantly not gay. this guy was very popular about the time i stop hating girls and realized how attractive they really are. which was at the age of nine. and i also noticed at that time how every women in america wanted to bare rick's children. this guy was a hansome stud who had some good music.

  • oh God i know everything your saying.i always liked Rick Springfield and i remember when he was mr Noah Drake.

  • was that his charactor on General Hospital?

  • Still tossed up between this version & the Hagar version....

  • Comment removed

  • lol, I think jagdads has gay on the mind too much, maybe he is struggling to come out...come on out jagdads it wont hurt....us, lol

  • They're singing to each other because they're gay...man crush, queer...you know?

  • Rick Springfield is not gay!!

  • How do you know? He could be. He's singing to some guy. Watch him in the chorus.

  • Ok,dude.That's his friend.

This theory of yours does not matter.

and secound, thousands of Ricks fans{including me} would disagree with you.

    Ok? now,drop it please.

    Thanks.

  • That says more about where your mind is then the actual video.

  • lol..this is the actual video.

  • rick sogood looking in 80s

  • he still looks good!! :)

  • Ya..Just look at that ass!!!! <3

  • This song has a positve masculine message for men being used by bad women. This song was done during the early 80's and for some apparent and surprising reason this songs actually stands the test of time that it applys to today's day and age/generation.

  • Gosh, This sounds like my last realtionship.

  • I hear that.

  • Dude! I saw him is Silver Springs yesterday, he..was..awesome!!!
