  • @Lallushe yea me too wahahahaha!!!

  • The guy face on the left side look like Ronaldinho Brazillian footballer LOL.... :)

  • i know its working when it hurts next morning lol

    this good stuff :D

  • you know this works when you get cramps next morning lol

    i did...... but IT WORKS!!

  • Anybody noe wer 2learn dis in pa

  • so Glad, Started Learning This

  • this is HARDCOREEEE.....i am already sweating for just 6mins of workout...

  • Hands down, the best training video i've ever seen...

  • it's one of the greatest exercise videos here on y-t i think.

  • Where can you download this? I have problems with my internet and can only access it at irregular intervals, and so I would like to be able to do this routine regularly. Can anyone help with downloads? Preferably in mp4 format. Thank you for posting this up, by the way!

  • im a martial artist, i dont take capoeira like a martial art it is more like an art of culture combat, but not martial, anyway i think they have the best conditioning training so im going to try it out

  • Please don't train this way. Some of the 'bouncing' stretches... they're really bad for your muscles.

  • @Dunam- I agree Dunam that "bounce stretching" can be bad for your muscles & ligaments! However, this is conditioning movements and IF one is properly warmed (should take oneself 5-7 minutes) up PRIOR to these movements. Then, there should NOT be a problem. Of course, when starting any exercise program consult a doctor or certified trainer!!! Stay smart & healthy... Peacefully Stay, -Jeff

  • @562ole I think capoeira would help with MMA, as a conditioning tool and to teach fighters how to move well. Anderson Silva, and Shogun Rua allegedly played capoeira.

  • @landgabriel i took a couple of mma classes and capoeira helped me to recuperate my balance when being attempted to takedown

  • @vazqjose Oh yeah, glad you found the assets capoeira brings

  • Amen!

  • this excercise is to taught.i got tire already on the 3rd part

  • you see =-= i cant do this shit. i cant even do a freaking karate =-='. god i suck i just started 2 months ago and im abuot to give up. everybody in the class been doing it since they were kids im 19 god i wish i started when i was 4 like them

  • @xbimpyx I started late too. Know what helps me? Stretching and mobility exercises. I do some stuff from yoga, and even a few ballet stretches. Since I was never an athlete as a child, I have muscles that are not flexible enough. All martial arts require a high degree of back and hip mobility. Since I started stretching more, my ability to do the moves in capoeira has increased.

  • @xbimpyx man dont give up. im doing capoeira since 1 year and the progress is amazing if you train at least twice a week.

  • @xbimpyx don't give up!

  • All I think of is Soulfly when I hear that instrument playing in the background.

  • Great video nickmah! It's a great workout that gives your body the fit that your body needs. And, like you said, it's part of Capoeira's "young" history, Back in those days it looked like this, in Mestre Bimba's day's it was diferent, like it was diferent when slaves used it. All documents are precious. Thank's for the post's.

  • 4:35 now ur gonna shake.... um...

  • @14reuel14 LMAO

  • Wow! This is really good and very hard.

  • i study Taekwondo and Ju Jutsu and i do these caporiea conditioning exercises. It's quite a workout! :D

  • @freijaful true, i studied silat, wing chun and practice xingyiquan daily, still this workout makes me fucking sweat :D

  • @rAFiCoRe LOL!

  • 4 years since i did this training 3 times peer week for a years, i could do everything...but now after 4 years being lazy i can't do all with their speed <.<

  • where are the other chapters of this tape?

  • The soundtrack sounds like one of those played for scientific documentaries e.g

    "The Solar System"

  • Comment removed

  • do these exercises increase flexibility if you do it daily

  • uma merda

  • i got a hardcore teacher this style is really good i injoy doing it i jsut got srtated like a month ago very hardwork...

  • I can't play on my HTC android any suggestions?

  • @outtabounds38 buy an iphone

  • 1:26 Monkey Dance! =D

  • This is really good for conditioning the body!

  • exellent!!!!

  • wow this is like Capo HIIT training. As soon as my food digests, I'm gonna have a go at this. It's my cardio day anyway, might as well stay home and do this routine!

  • dudes the guy in the right (amen) is the guy from "only the strong " who plays Mark Dacascos teacher in the movie as well as his teacher for the style wow he looks different

  • At 9:12 how do you do that push-up thing when you're all spread out like that. I tried it and ended up just feebly bending my arms back and forth toward the ground.

  • i weigh 290 and im 5"4 is it safe to do this

  • Isn't that ballistic stretching? For some reason it looks a little dangerous for the muscles... Just what I was taught in physical education class, can someone clarify?

  • yeah it is but you can just do a slower version of theirs.

  • @ChrisMeister91

what mumeya said, and you can hold the stretches for 15 secs, 30 is best.

  • these guys are mestres (masters). That means they've been training their bodies with dedication for years. Thus, these exercises are shown at a)full speed b) maximum tension and stretch. Me and probably u as well, should just start off easily and build up on tension as we get better, fitter and more flexible ;) Otherwise, these are perfectly ok to do, unless you have some kind of pathological or orthopedic issue in which case you must consult a doctor. Happy training :)

  • i took martial arts for 11 years, started when i was 3...took about 2 years off, this conditioning is killer...i'm starting it though, i wanna learn capoeira REALLY bad

  • They made the New Kama Sutra.

Don`t get me wrong I really respect this and I train this too. It is really helpfull

  • salve capoeira batuque!!

  • Como duelee!!!!

  • Oh crap, by 4:30 I was DEAD.

It's what you get for being a 250lb girl with no flexibility whatsoever. Whoa, I'm feeling dizzy. That can't be good.

If I get a stroke or something after typing this, I just wanted to say thanks for the warm-ups! I'll do them all the time until I succeed. ;D

  • 5'9''. I'm a long person. Gaha.

  • I doubt you'll have a stroke unless it's some cosmic coincidence. A heart attack, on the other hand...

Gave you a thumbs up for effort, though :). If you really do weight 250lbs, you may want to start off at a lower level of exercise, such as jogging or fast walking and work your way up from there.

  • whats the song in the background called???

  • it's just a rhytm to which a song can be sung, this rhytm is called Sao Bento Grande de Bimba, but i'm not sure, i'm a begginer aluno1

  • The rhytm is Sao Bento Grande de Angola

  • kurde, nie trafiłem, ale nagranie niewyraźne, i w ogóle... :P, kiedyś się nauczę, :)

    axe!

  • They made it look easy.I tried it and it almost killed me.

  • u indeed need a minimum of training/flexibility before trying that out but once u got it, its a quiet good warm up

  • Well i think i need to burn of some fat since my BMI 29.7

  • What about doing these exercises with like wrist and ankle weights? I'm just imagining that would be killer.

  • I've never practiced capoeira before, but I've experience in several martial arts and to answer your question YES! I would caution though, with something this athletic and mobile I would suggest learning the technique first so you understand proper alignment. If not, the weights might hurt you, good luck!

  • I respect the health decisions of others but I have to ask. Has there ever been a obese capoerista or mestre? I see this art as not only a martial art or part of my african side of culture but as a fun way to stay healthy.

  • i do know this capoeirista that is heavy set, but he looks very healthy. They call him a beast because he's thick, has long hair, and very flexible and capable of doing many flips. Capoeira i very good for almost all people willing to put in the work.

  • I'm hardly an expert, but I doubt there would be an "obese" Maestre. "Pudgy?" "Husky?" "Heavy-set?" "Stout?" I suppose so...after all Hong Kong "chop-socky" vet Sammo Hung is built like a bag of cookie dough stuffed with gummi bears, yet is astonishing nimble (enough to keep up with Jackie Chan during his film career). But I can't imagine someone being "obese" and managing to keep up with the physical demands of this art, which even relative to TKD, Savate, or Karate are intense.

  • I kinda thought so. Thanks for the confirmation.

  • in spanish ?? plis

  • these are capoeira MASTERS. Not beginners. I could do this, but not recommended for beginners or folks out of shape over forty.

  • over 40 LOOL!

  • this is awesome

  • puedo descargar este video?

  • Pois eh little djow, capoeira rula!

  • where can i download this video

  • flashgot for fire xD fox. you'll need an .FLV player also. just google what you need.

  • wow nice

  • Looks like a great workout BUT some of those stretches are EXTREMELY dangerous. don't bounce like that, especially if you are a beginner!

  • which part are you talking about?

  • Forward bend, like Dandayamana, has the potential for knee hyperextension I think. And then that rotating knee thing, no I wouldn't do that. Really, there's at least 3 stretches I wouldn't do in there, all for the sake of my knees. I like for them to work. That being said, it's no worse than putting too many plates on and doing squats.

  • One has to build up to it, then there is no harm.

  • man im not so good at the splits...i think i need a class but i dont know where one is.near me.

  • This is a very old video and some of the conditioning exercises should be examined as research shows the joint stress that some of these place on you are very bad in the long run. There are variations of these to fit today's fitness & wellness world.

  • guys, serious question here, replies will be appreciated...

i train at a mixed martial arts place, but have a spare evening when i know a capoeira class is on.

do people recommend i go through these warmup/condition exercises before i start training? and how long in advance should i aim for?

  • honestly, well this is to me, I find no conditioning is needed. Most classes (or mine anyway) conditioned us similarly DURING class, so its basically just self teaching what will be actually taught to you.

  • ok cheers tyzzni, i should be starting soon so i'll see how it goes

  • Warm up exercises is good for you, you need to to pull your muscles before training..

  • I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day.

  • awesome conditioning, ill do this on my capoeira training!its very complete!

  • INcredible stuff

  • u need vlc player to watch the downloaded part

  • Hello!!! please help me, how can i down load this video, i´d try but after that mi computer can not read the file. Thanks.

  • Muuuuuuito bom!!!

  • where can i learn capoeira in gold coast

  • rotating your knees in circular motion can rip ligaments so be carfull doing alot of these stretches

  • wow! can't wait to try these exercises.. but obviously will have to start at a slower pace and milder stretch till i get better at the warmups!

  • so i want to learn capoeira. should i start doing those exercises?

  • They lay out the foundations you need in conditioning as far as physical strength and flexibility go, so it would a really good idea to do these regularly.

  • I train in karate and after seeing this, I'm gonna implement these conditioning for my workout routine. I also hope to learn capoeria. Very good for flexibility.

  • Thanks for Videos

  • Dashee is correct you have to of already mastered capoeira , unless you like pain?

  • i better try this

  • i want to learn capeoira.

  • Guys, dont learn this alone at home, if you want to be a Capoeirista, find some brazilian Mestre who will teach you. This videos are perfect for people who already know capoeira, to learn more or practise forgotten moves. Oderwise you will do it wrong and without understanding you will hurt yourself... ;)

  • how can you do a push up wrong, fool

  • its easer than you think twat

  • then call me a fucking savant

  • Wait thats the guy from only the strong, right?

  • No. OtS was filmed 1993. This video series is from Panter Productions (they do not exist any more) and filmed 1989.

Non of those 2 are in the movie.

  • The bigger guy (Amen Santo) is from "Only the Strong". He was a teacher of Mark Dacascos for that movie.

  • Ah, maybe your right. Well I forgot that he was at the beginning in brasil and got the recall there.

  • Take it from me . Down load these brothers , all of their clips , and you can follow by replaying them to learn CAPOEIRA ! From here on you can improve your own moves and flex-ability.

  • Awesome. I'm gonna use these exercises for losing weight and training. Thank you for posting.

  • man just hearing the muscis gets you going thanks for uploading this.

    viva au brasil!!

  • man, i can't w8 till my ankle heals so that i can do this! i'm so excited, this looks like a rlllly good guide, thank you guys for making it!

  • wish that there was a capoeira school near my town.... i wanna learn the art sorta, oh well i got plenty of other arts to train in any way, and i can master the art through this vid

  • actually my tecaher told me the history that when the western people captured Black people and made them into a slave, but in that time they where chaned up to thier leges which they couldent move exececpt jumping or skipping, but they traned them self sicretly and they had the chance to escape, they trick the western enemy with there moves as it look like they are dancing in a confusin, but what could i say Capoiera is the most interesting martial art ive ever seen.

  • you can really learn in this vid

  • man capoeira is a nice style.

  • I've found out, lol, who is the big guy. It's mestre Amen (Joselito Santo; not Santos) from Capoeira Batuque.

  • Hello guys, but I have to give credit to these brothers, who I 'm sure most of you couldn't even step to. Mind your comments and be respectful of the attempt to educate.

  • I think that capoeira isn't the thing "i can tell".

my opinion is that these films were made to popularize capoeira among european and american public (as a SELF DEFENSE). Western public had its own ideas how self defense must look and be taught. So they made it as their american producers wanted it from them. And it still is capoeira even in such a representation. And still can help in learning some basics.

  • ay these condition techniques and stretches are GREAT. leave them!

  • Audience, please note: This video is pretty old - back then the scientific opinion was, to stretch by bouncing.

    Today, we know better, so:

    Do not do this!

Stretch while breathing out and relaxing the muscle you're stretching, then bring tension into the muscle. Then relax again and sink deeper. Go slow! Don't rush and ripp.

    Have fun conditioning! ^^
