yeah, according to others, they're similar to the original playstation 2 controllers. the original DS3s have that glossy, black finish. the DS3 that came with my 120 GB slim feels pretty much like that plastic, matte case on the PS3 slim. also, the d-pad feels... i dunno, more responsive/sensitive? and when you shake the new DS3s, you can actually hear the insides.
maybe it's just me, but if you want to buy a new DS3, i say wait. i've been hearing some really great things about Snakebyte's Premium Bluetooth Controller.

lol yes! ever since i got this new DS3 i've been failing tks nonstop. the plastic finish on the newest DS3s feels really really weird.
