  • The instrument has many names...mostly called aktara.. coz it has only one wire... it's a famous instrument in folk music in west bengal. it is used in BAUL music a form of folk music of Bengal. search for band s like oyikotaan or BAUL music of bengal u'll get to know.... :)

    I think its a kind of ektara...played in the "Baul" genre of music at WB...
