This is a scene from a movie called "Terminal Choice". Her doctor lowered the BPM from 30 to 24, but the unknown killer over-rode that, and reduced it to 2.4 breaths per minute, making it look like a typo.
Totally faked. #1 Haven't seen a Bear I ventilator in 25 years. #2 Peak Pressures of nearly 90 without tripping the alarm. #3 The "victim" was way too awake..that would never fly, totally inhumane. #4 She could scoot herself down in bed to extubate herself, with that much muscle control...I could go on & on
@JustyneVampire The idea is there is a central computer controlling all the machines - just before this scene the doctor programmed 24 breaths/p.m but somebody overrides it to 2.4 breaths/pm and eventually to zero - the same person who killed another patient with an overdose of anti-clotting drugs and later kills somebody else with several shocks from a defibrillator.
Faked. Medications such as fentanyl/midazolam are used to suppress voluntary respiration anyway - i've worked in icu for 20 years - never seen anything as shitty as dishonest as this video!
For one thing....lousy tape job. Tube isn't secure. Secondly, it is possible to tolerate both an ET tube and oral airway in the mouth at the same time. The oral airway can be used as a bite block to prevent a patient from biting the tube. The patient needs to be sedated. Diprivan (Propofol) would be a good choice.
OK...under no circumstances patient could tolerate both gadgets awake (oropharingeal airway abd ET tube) in the mouth without chocking/coughing! She seems FAR too comfortable to have both in her mouth!

I dont actually understand what is happening here. Is she breathing against the ventilator causing it to turn off or something?

If you take a closer look, there's a decimal point. From the looks of it, it's at 9.8 bpm.

Just kiddin.
THAT VIDEO IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL.
I cried.
It was so sad, to see her hooked up to a ventilator.
She's on my prayer list.
How is she these days?

Not very good with the tape.
And, where are all the monitors?
Why isn't she on a pulse oximeter?
Why isn't she on an ECG machine?
Why aren't the nurses in there watching her?
It would help if you all would put her on a pulse oximeter.
