i just uploaded a video of an oil painting that took me 5 months to finish.
i would like to get some feedback on it. so if everyone that reads this could check it out and let me know what you think it would help me out! the video is called -- monumental oil painting- from start to finish. thanks everyone!
everyone is using the term speed painting wrong. Speed painting is actually painting a scene in real time very quickly, with out editing one shot real time. Fast forward painting, jump cut painting perhapos, but not speed painting.
its really very nice esp d rays....... i'm a doc but love paintin.... with no formal painting coachin i learn 4m good folks like u who r willin to share n to teach..... hats off.....
Helloa again Misty, great to hear from you again. PLEASE TRY THIS, I am sure you will like it! We had our First Coast Painter's "paintout" recently (I have video from it on YouTube) and I took a black gessoed canvas with me to use if that opportunity arose. ANYWAY, you gotta try this style of painting... it's fun and fast!
Thank you for the nice comment. Bob is great... I can't think of anyone who can paint an 18x24 painting that ALWAYS looks good, with great color, composition and techniques... and in 25 minutes or less!!
You are incredible! I'm learning to paint by watching you. I probably will never be very good,I'm 42 and only just started, but it makes me happy.Really enjoy watching you.
hi, thanks for the nice words. It's never too late to start... just think, you've had years of experience observing nature and life, now it's just a matter of practice putting it down on canvas. YOU CAN DO IT!
Once again I'm stunned! I'm a beginner and art student who hasn't gotten to painting class yet. Thanks to your videos I think I'm doing very well! I just finished my own version of the orange wild flowers painting ou did. Mine is acrylics (that's all I have at the moment) and I think its not too shabby! Thanks again for posting these videos, they're the inspiration I need to keep going!
Hello again Retta, thanks for the nice words. As a norm, I use acrylics... this is my first opening of tubes of oil paint since 1968, and it's really only oil glazes coloring over a B&W gesso (acrylic) painting. The technique is pure BOB ROSS, I can only take credit for the layout which was from a photo I shot of a fern-covered tributary off Julington Creek. Keep painting, try new things, and I am glad you feel I am helping. Thanks for watching.
I liked it better black and white I must say... after the colors it got a little too crowded/messy for me
