  • HAHAHAHA MOST IMPORTANT PART.....YU CAN MAKE A BIG MESS IF YU DONT WRAP IT UP!!!!!! LMAO

  • you hear that guys? he RECORENDS using saran wrap haha

  • Blot excess blood and fluids from tattoo.

Apply a thick layer of ointment to the area

Bandage client using sealed telfa pads. Plastic wrap is unacceptable.

A & D ointment or its equivalent is used. The ointment soothes the skin, keeps it moist and prevents the bandage from sticking. Plastic wrap is considered unacceptable because it does not breathe. This retards the healing process and creates an environment that encourages bacterial growth.

  • From a medical standpoint this makes a lot of sense. However for the larger pieces you really don't have much of a choice, so you'll need to clean several times a day, re-moisturize, and re-wrap.

That said here is what a few of the professional tat orgs are saying on the matter of saran wrap and what to do instead:

  • saran wrap warms up while on your body creating a breeding ground for bacteria.

  • @briannalovescouture ooh yuuup .. it dose
