@smokeybirdman, there is not only one Devil playing around, in Islam, we believe every single son of Adam have his "companion" who is a son of Satan. And to answer your question, yes, it is not 100% coming from Satan, I believe there are 3 main sources of evil: Desire, Satan, and Ego.

@smokeybirdman: In Islam there's a concept of human devils and devils from amongst the Jinn who go out and cause problems amongst people. Shaytan (or The Devil) is seen as the father of the Jinn race.
