  • I'd rather have OnStar, where my car can be disabled, when cops pull up to it, and also give GPS Tracking to the police.

  • @kirbyyasha I don't like the idea of a corporation being able to shutdown my car. One disgruntled employee shut down a bunch of random people's cars last year before quitting his job.

  • That was cornier than cream corn.

  • fake and gay!!

  • is it only the police who can authorized to have this track because I have a friend who is missing almost 2 days now but not found yet.

  • thank you for not using a black guy in the video cheers :D

  • @NINOBROWN914 If it was a black guy the police would've still beat him down and took him to jail!

  • damn tom hanks steals cars now

the ressesion is really f'd up lmao

  • This video only appears at resolution of 240 lines, if you have the original video put it thru a line doubling etc ... to get it to 720 and 480 lines.

  • this thing really works..i had my car stolen with lojack installed, and the cops found my car and caught the silly theif who stoled it within 2 hours.

  • 08/21/10 between the hour of 10pm-11:30pm my suv was stolen and it is going on the third day and no recovery nothing. What makes it even the more interesting I had two systems on it LoJack and OnStar. My car was taken from the Sheraton Gateway hotel parking lot in Atlanta but it gets even better. When the police arrived they spent more time questioning if I was behind the theft when I live a thousand miles away. So dont believe LoJack work and the police in College Park Atlanta GA

  • Just got this installed today. Can't wait for my car to get stolen to see how well it works LOL. JK. Definitely a peace of mind though.

  • i need one of these for my car. just gotta find if this sorta stuff is legal in australia and where i find it

  • 4:25 go cameraman!!!! catch him XD

  • the thing is,.. drive the stolen car to mexico then thats it,. specially when you live close san diego

  • I got forced into buying this by the sales guy for my new car. But I have to admit it is a best investment worth every penny if your car is parked on the street. I get notified every time my parking guy moves the car. Hell I even get notified if I move my car even 10 feet without the key fob. The only thing is the notification takes a few minutes its not instant...but it gives me peace of mind which is priceless!

  • but thanks to my cousins lojack they found the car really quick

  • they stold my cousins honda 2000 civic si from his house at 2 in the morning and the cops found it 30 minutes later in a house in fontana..some stupid guy had it in his garage parting it out..right now that stupid guy is in jail serving time and hes gonna get sued later on by my cousin

  • Why wouldn't or couldn't the thief just take the LoJack machine out of the car? How does it work exactly?

  • @BoxOfMoons lojack is wired to your car in a hidden fashion, also wired so that if its disconnected it still transmits

  • where do you get a LoJack and how much???

  • dealerships

  • @AceCampano what about if its a classic

  • I got mine at the car dealership. You can try going to their website, but it'll probably cost more.

  • lawl if that was real he would be the dumbest car theft in the world. Fucking gets out of the car and run instead of taking the car and drive fast then get out and run.

  • What happens if your car gets stolen in the middle of the night and u don't discover this until like 5 or 6 hours later? Your vehicle could be getting chopped or on a container ship headed overseas by that time.

  • @howardsternbobabooey

Lojack calls you the moment the car is moved, so you don't have to wait 5-6 hours.

  • @howardsternbobabooey Lojack and/or the police already has your license plate number, vehicle make, model, and year recorded when you have Lojack installed.

  • If you ever heard a real tracking event on a police scanner, you will have noticed that it takes MANY cops to narrow down a signal and even a helicopter. This is not cheap in terms of manpower. Lojack is not cost effective for all police departments considering the economic climates that all govs face now. GPS is much better.

  • The Police are not supposed to be "cost effective" they are there to prevent and solve crimes.

The choppers and patrol cars are on the road anyway, all the better if they can recover someone's stolen vehicle at the same time.

  • Your are 100% correct, police services are a necessary evil and as such they should be provided for with minimal questions asked. However THIRD PARTY COMMERCIAL gear that ties up our limted resources like LOJACK should be cost effective if they are to be placed in OUR squad cars. There are much better technologies that are available now and that are much more cost effective as they should be if they are third party commercial solutions.

  • not all cop cars hve this trackin computer, lo jack is like finding a needle in a hay stack, gps is beeter it uses the gps satellitesto track your car instantly, lo/jack is old technology!

  • So what commercially available service are you recommending that integrates with a GPS?

  • u can use mobile guardian, omega tracking system, this are the best out there right now, u can track your car in real time.

  • @usaamerica1 GPS isn't better.....all they have to do is put your car in a parking garage, shipment container, building, anything to block the GPS signal.....like when your satelite radio goes out. LoJack uses Radio signal, much more reliable.

  • @salamon1080 WRONG-GPS would give you the location just outside a garage or a container- or outside the building. Most GPS devices can also triangulate via cell- if GPS cannot lock.

LOJACK IS an 8 TRACK in a MP3 world- what if your car is stolen in Indiana-

If your car gets stolen in the Bronx and is taken to pokipsy is f'n gone...

LOJACK IS ONLY IN A FEW MARKETS ACROSS THE COUNTRY- GPS IS NATION WIDE-

  • @mooleyman

Lol, your an idiot. . . . you are too dumb and miss informed to even try to explain anything to you. Believe what you want sucka.

  • @salamon1080 I think you have me mistaken-Miss Informed- Miss informed is that runner up to the runner up at the Miss USA? i think you meant misinformed- but I assure you I am not. I am very well versed on the world in question. I know what the coverage map looks like and I know the limitations of both.

What really drives me crazy is on TV or in the movies when they say they found the car on the computer using lojack. CANT HAPPEN- SO Salamon1080 im up for a debate

  • the best thing outhere

  • lol this video doesn't PAUSE!

  • it does

  • yeah it works now but when i tried, the pause symbol appeared but the video kept on playing!

  • Pauses fine for me.

  • umm it pauses just fine...

  • It would be dumb to steel a car with the licence late lojack

  • Actually it is the best car to steal, that's why cars with LoJack are so targeted, you just need to hold the owner hostage so that he can't report it and you can be completely sure there won't be any trouble. People with Lojack don't use other systems on top of it so there won't be no gas valve closing, GPS tracking, etc...

  • @IuTiubTM

And how would they know which cars are lojacked?

And who says they don't have other systems?

And taking an owner hostage? turn a quiet car theft into a kidnapping (federal) case?

I know car thieves are usually idiots, but wow.

  • ONSTAR

  • straight out the box how effective are jammers used to block lojack and lojack in transit?

  • There is a new system being tested at this time that can find cars in buildings and shipping containers, it also includes tracking buttons, and hi-rez hidden cameras that transmit images of the cars location as well as the occupants. 14 Honda S2000's here in California have the GPS buttons in their seats, the seats were stolen out of 3 and the thieves were caught 12 minutes later along with a garage full of Honda and Acura parts. This new system is code named (for the moment) VALKYRIE. more soon

  • fake reply code! stop using a training units! you fags

  • Things people don't consider are the out-of-pocket expenses if a car gets stolen & not recovered: XS rental car costs (ins waits 30 days to pay the claim), down payment on new vehicle, taxes & tags (ins. doesn't cover this), ins. deductible payment, loss of "stuff" in your vehicle, increased future ins. premiums ... all this adds up to $3,000-$5,000. Also, now the thief now knows where you live!

It's better to get your car back quickly & undamaged, and, trade it in on a new one if you want!

  • I just had my car taken the thief broke in to steal my wife's purse and found a spare key and took the car. We recovered after a 48 hour joyride. The insurance company will not cover a "rekey" of the car because the thief found a key inside. Rekey on a BMW cost $1750.00 a lowjack system would have save this cost and recovered my car promptly. Sounds like a good investment to me.

  • The lojack does work off an RF Signal and that is part of the problem. Not all police units carry the equipment to track the lojack. It is all dealt with on a volunteer basis. And the early warning system sounds good but is inefective. It took 15 minutes to notify me and by that time my bike was gone and I was sitting on a curb waiting for the police to show up. Dont waist your money.

  • Nothing is 100% effective. However, if you're going to choose an "recovery system", wouldn't you want one that can track the signal through buildings, metal shipping containers etc??? Regarding your stolen bike, giving the thieft a 15 minute headstart sounds OK to me. Without the Early Warning notification, how much of a head start would you have given him.? Also, did the police ever find your bike?

  • lowjack is a piece of shit, dont buy it waste of money .........

  • well thats great but any good thief will have the lo lo jack disabled in 30 minutes. Its bogus they don't hide it well and its the first thing a theif looks for. My sisters yamaha r1 was stolen and had lo jack not recovered of course they have to refund the lo jack cost but what about the 8000 dollar investment they were protecting.

  • Your sister had an R1 ?

I wont to meet your sister...

  • well lo jack will call you if some one so much as pulls your door handle but usually too late

  • During most installs, the tech messes up and the Lojack unit actually drains the car battery...makes it impossible for the thief (or you) to actually start the car. They must have edited out the part where the car thief jump starts the car first.

  • My question for the Lojack PR department: what percentage of US law enforcement agencies currently carry your equipment in their patrol cars?

While it is true that your competitors using GPS technology are rendered useless when a stolen vehicle is transported in an enclosed trailer, it is also true that you have not completed nationwide buildout.

If an equipped vehicle is stolen from a major city (Las Vegas), and driven to medium-sized metro area (Salt Lake City), Lojack is worthless.

  • Well, there are more than 11,000 Police Tracking Computers installed in police vehicles and aircraft throughout 27 states in the U.S. LoJack's Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network includes more than 1,850 police departments. As added insurance, LoJack provides a 100 percent money-back guarantee on the cost of the system if your vehicle is not recovered within 24 hours.

  • Somethings I have to point out/ ask

first, who's the moron with the dumb question/comments? he looks retarded.

that's him! GAY! Big problem is usually thefts happen at night, you don't realize your cars been stolen till 6 hours later so really it's a waste of money..? the car would be completely either stripped or lojack taken out by the time you realize this.where do you get the 95% success rate from? you could say whatever you want. it might not be true.IMO a GPS system from clifford is best!

  • thats why you have a car ALARM..i had lojack and put the sticker by the front windows...and even when my window was droken last week so they can try and steal it, the alarm woke me up and i got my flashlight and shot gun...the rober ran like a girl when he saw a light..so park it close, put the alarm on, and dont sleep with the TV on

  • Hey there I have a 96 Impala SS and was wondering how much it cost for install and is there a yearly or monthly fee for having lo jack someone let me know how much it cost thanks.

  • I think $700 or so w/ no monthly fee

  • LOL....did the camera man beat him with the camera? That's what it looked like at the end

  • thats pretty pathetic and takes too long to locate the car i mean for a real thief it shouldnt take them less than an hour to strip a car down to its frame and by then they'll already found the lojack and kill it

  • thats sooo sick!!! I want that now!

  • That's pretty hardcore.

  • Just drive the car into a faraday cage and the lojack is useless.

  • That guy's got a nice car.

  • i just bought a lexus IS250 and got the lojack option their coming out this weekend to install. does this unit have to be periodically checked to see if its functioning?

  • im pretty sure you don't but i would still ask since i saw on lojack's site that someone recovered their car without knowing a lojack was in there and it had been in there for 17yrs!!

  • haha i heard there was lojack for rolex watches.

  • Lo jack is a joke. I paid 950.00 to have one installed and my bike was stolen two weeks later and not recovered. That was 4 months ago. 90% recovery is false. Dont waste your money. Especially if you are thinking about putting it on a motorcycle. I give Lo Jack two big 8 knuckle super fingers up.

  • your obviously the 10%, most professional thieves know where to locate the lojack and disable it. especially on a bike.

  • Your bike didn't get stolen "because" there was a LoJack on it. Did you have the new LoJack with Early Warning feature. If you did, it would have notified you that your bike was "being" stolen, enabling you to notify the police more quickly, giving them a better opportunity find your bike. Fact is, no recovery system is 100%, but LoJack is the best out there!

  • He, I'm interested in buying a used Vehicle Tracking Computer. It can be the new one or the old one, don't care, as long as it was legally obtained. This is for a presentation on possible lojack pranks to be presented at one of the hacker cons. We will not be presenting how to disable the system. Please contact me if you have one to sell. Thanks.

  • im planning on putting lojack on my cougar how much is it to get it installed into my mercury.

  • takes 30 sec to find and disable this system in the vehicle. Just have full insurance coverage, so i can get a new car after its stolen. Much better then paying thousand of dollars for this system.

  • The success of LoJack is the thief doens't know it's in the car. Many cars are being stolen to be shipped (intacted) overseas. The thief is not going to start ripping the car apart because there "may" be a LoJack in it. Make sure you purchase the Early Warning upgrade so you are notify if someone is stealing you car.

  • i rather get a full coverage insuranse. so when its gets stollen, stripped wattever. il be more tan happy to here tat.

  • but what happens if you get your car back but its completely stripped.

  • The idea is that they catch them before that happens.

  • What if you are out of range of the towers? Does it activate when it gets in range?

  • Iam a car audio installer and would like to install this device on my 03 Yamaha R6. Is this unit compatible? Where could I get more info cuase I would like to install the unit myself.

  • Here's a question, once the lojack has been activated on a stolen vehicle and that vehicle is found, does the same unit stay in the car or does it need to be replaced/service in anyway? If so what's the turn around time for getting it done?

  • It is reusable. There is a Honda in Florida that has been stolen at least ten times and recovered with the same LoJack. Awesome product that really works.

  • no you couldnt just tow it away. Once the vehicle moves 20 feet without the correct ignition transponder, the owner, and the police will be notified.

  • 911 TO REPORT A CAR STOLEN?

  • many states and cities use 911 for ALL police calls regardless of emergency.

  • you can use a cell phone jammer in order to create a silent zone around the vehicule

    gotcha¡¡

of course is tricky and costly

and i better work and buy my own car

  • cell phone jammers inhibit receivers from gettng a signal through the noise, not transmitters from transmitting

  • LoJack: You guys really need to check up on your installers once in awhile. The install the guy did on my car looks like a 2 year old did it. The connections aren't very secure and the electrical tape work is disgusting. It appeared to me like the guy that did the install had NO electronics experience at all nor did he seem to care about his workmanship. I wouldn't be surprised it it didn't even work.

  • You need to call LoJack about this and they will get it fixed right for you.

  • First thing, this car can not be hotwire it has a chip in the key. 2nd a true tracking would have satellite and rf.

  • The police do not currently have GPS tracking monitors in their cars, only LoJack Tracking Units. The best you can do with GPS is notify the police of it's last known position. LoJack's broadcast a continuous signal to any police car within a couple of miles.

  • Couple of miles? They have real time tracking everywhere. RF is a thing of the past. My point is the car cann't be hotwired. If you are going to show a video on youtube use the right car or tow it like someone would in real life. No to mention all you need to do is remove the batt.

  • The LoJack unit still functions if the battery of the car is disconnected. With LoJack Early Warning, if the car is towed you get notified quickly and can call police. GPS or cellular systems let you track the vehicle, but have no connection to the police. LoJack has a 90% recovery rate because the POLICE activate the unit itself, which broadcasts to every police cruiser it goes past.

  • @LoJackCorp ok so lets say my car gets stolen do u guys call me and ask if im driving it and then u guys call the police and sec if my car got stolen and lets say there tsaking out of town or into another state can u detcet that

  • @carlosace215 if you have an Early Warning LoJack system, you would be notified if your vehicle is moved. Even If you don't, you would need to report the stolen vehicle to the police. They then activate the LoJack system.

  • @LoJackCorp

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this will only pick up a signal if a police cruiser is within a 3-4 mile radius of the stolen vehicle? That's a mediocre recovery, at best.

  • @DaFinestx on the ground, it's 12-20 square miles. it's much greater in the air when police use their tracking computers in helicopters or aviation units.

  • Dude, I've seen Gone in 60 Seconds! Any car can be stolen. Besides, they could just tow it away.

  • First thing I have to say is "What a great movie" Show me a car and it can be stolen. I do not want to post on how to steal a car 101, the facts the car you are showing car that can not be hotwired w/out a computer and yes you can bypass the lojack very easy. Every unit can be bypassed, gps is the best way to go. Yes lojack has been working on a gps unit for the last 2 years at least.

  • You are expected to know some things about your own vehicle. Such as, the license plate number, the make and model, and any additional features. An intelligent person would know the contents and mileage and other important things about said vehicle. And don't lie, we'll determine that (and throw your case out if proven)!!

  • I have Audi Telematics (OnStar) in my car, and they also provide a similar feature, where they can track the stolen vehicle. So, do I need to get lojack? I don't want to spend money on twice on the same thing.

  • OnStar (and all other GPS companies) require you pay on-going fees to keep service active. Fact is, most OnStar customers drop their service after the "free" year is up, meaning they have no protection what-so-ever. LoJack is a one time cost, no on-going fees, and will be active when your vehicle gets stolen.

  • @Richyt72 Guidepoint AS has no monthly fees unless you want tracking

  • my cars so crappy nobody would steal it :)

  • hehe, that's an advantage^^

  • I need one of those

  • You just need to find a car dealer in your town that installs LoJack units. Go to LoJack's home page, click on "Find a Dealer" at the top.

  • I don't own a chevy but is this better then onstar GPS tracker?

  • Is LoJack also like a normal car alarm? How much is the price range in getting this product? or differs from car? I'm very interested.

  • mine was 400. Acura Rsx typeS. Depends on the dealer. 400-500.

  • Seems pretty accurate if you watch it closely.

  • it is so, our car was stolen on a parking spot outside of Costco and we file a report luckly i know my lic plates # and on the next day the police told us it was about 5 miles away from Costco. when i got there the car was just how it was the only thing taken was some clothes we had brought.... so the point of this is to go out and get the lojack u`ll never know it can happen to you,, p.s. i never knew that th car had lojack we were very lucky!

  • That's great news. Most people don't know that the police activate a LoJack, not the company. So the police try to activate *every* car that is stolen just in case it's a second owner who is unaware it has one. It's good peace of mind to know the police are directly on top of it. If you also want to know if your car is moved, check out "LoJack with Early Warning". :)

  • I personally don't want the car back that got stolen. Give me the money so i can get a new car. Also lojack uses specifric frequence, which can easily be jamed so as to keep lojack acticated on that vehicle.

  • lojack= hella discounts on insurance.

  • really, i didnt get much off. It does however give me a peace of mind.

  • Interesting video. Looks like what you see in the movies when someone tracks a person. Tracking unit looks almost portable.
