  • Merci! We use this expression in portuguese too :]

  • De grâce, ne crache pas dans ma soupe!! lol

  • I'm french, and hearing her saying in differents ways " Il ne faut pas cracher dans la soupe. " made me rofl really hard...

  • Omg haha the dialogue made me laugh so much. It baffles me how natural and perfect your American English is. Like, everything in the dialogue sounds liek normal every-day conversation rather than textbook-y. I hope I'm like that with French one day

  • Merci!

  • Thank you very much for posting the wonderful lessons. We are leaning them all.

    Merci!

  • Il ne faut pas cracher dans la soupe. c'est clair, si on prend au 1er degré, c'est carrément dégueulasse. déjà que j'ai envie de vomir juste à voir des glaires par terre.

  • Je dirais a priori que j'aimerais davantage de tes vidéos, mais bon, il ne faut pas cracher dans la soupe.

  • Excellent!!! Thanks.

  • hey, please make many more on French idioms

  • Merci Leyla! J'espere que tu te sens mieux : D

  • Welcome back!!!!

  • welcome back. Always enjoy your videos =)

  • yeah you're back and posting again!!

et merci pour le bon avis.

  • Here in Colombia we have a traditional saying that pretty much means the same thing as faut pas cracher dans la soupe: "A caballo regalado, no se le mira el colmillo". Surprinsingly enough the english translation of this saying is very literal: "Never look a gift-horse in the mouth".

  • The closest American version of this expression is "Never look a gift-horse in the mouth." One can best tell the general health of a horse by looking at its teeth, gums, and tongue. It would be rude however to do this in front of someone who just gave you the horse for free. I'll have to remember this French one. Thanks for posting. I seem to love to speak in expressions for some reason:)

  • love your videos!

  • thanks! I have been slacking on my french... these videos help

  • Thanks so much for posting. I luv your vids! Plus, they really help me practice my "R" sounds. Which unfortunately I'm STILL having problems perfecting. Oh well, practice makes perfect. Keep the vids coming. :0)

  • nice video ^_^

  • I prefer your British accent without a doubt, but you have both accents down perfectly.

  • Might I say that your accent has become more British! Also I think a good equivalent in (American) English would be: "don't look a gift horse in the mouth".

  • @ace625 Spot on. Was about to post the same thing.

  • Sympa =)
