  • Hey. Did you get the job as a presenter after this showreel? I hope so. It was great. I'm going to be making mine in the next couple of weeks to send to them. :-)

  • Another professional job from the best production team in BC. Go Gamut!

  • i think san juan is older then quebec city

not bad, did you get the job?

  • post olympic blues - Watching this , excellent.

  • Quebec City isn't the oldest european city in North America. Sain Augustine, FL(founded by the Spaniards in 1565) holds that honour.

  • Congratulations on getting the job! :)

  • This is so cool! I can't wait to travel the world. I'm glad that you got to be a travel host, kinda reminds me of get outta town. I love it. I would love to visit Canada to meet an actress of mine named Barbara Mamabolo.

  • I hope you get to travel everywhere you wish. Canada is a beautiful country and certainly deserves a visit!

  • Thank you so much!!

  • You are most welcome!

  • Nice job! I hope to visit Quebec city some time!

  • Great! It's a beautiful city!!

  • song?

  • The video contains music composed by Ian Ritchie (the composer for the Pilot Guides series). He has his own website or you can find this music on the pilotguides website under GlobetrekkerTV.

  • Thanks for the encouraging words! Since this showreel, I have made two other reels (they are also posted on my youtube site). Check them out if you like and let me know what you think. I'm working on my 4th right now.

I'm so glad you loved Quebec! I really enjoy it there too and I can't wait to go back. Take care!

  • I love it, keep posting more, it would be great to see you in pilot guides

  • Thanks Ricckardo for the encouragement! I hope to make it on the show one day too!!

  • I LOOOOVE Quebec City more than Montreal

  • Quebec City is a great city to visit and live in!! I really like it too!

  • nice :) so did you send it off to london?,ive always dreamed of being pilot guides host

  • I did and unfortunately I never heard back but regardless, I'm going to try again!! You should too!

  • Where did you get the theme song, i cant find it anywhere haha

  • You can get it off the pilotguides website and on the Ian Ritchie website :)

  • Quebec may be beautiful, but when you compare it to other parts of the world, its nothing special

  • Perhaps, but some would think otherwise. Thank you for your comment.

  • Great job! Quebec City is def. worth a visit. I'd wish you had put more downtown footage into the reel though :) Good luck getting the job!

  • Thanks MalouDK! The showreel had to be short so I couldn't include everything I wanted. Thank you for the suggestions :)

  • Hey thanks for the nice compliments :) I have made two other videos since this one that have more action shots - they are also posted on my YouTube site. Thank you for posting and take care :)

  • Merci beaucoup!!

  • Agreed

  • Thanks :) It makes me happy that you like the video :)

  • WOW, that was very profesional. Just like watching a real Pilot Guide. Well done.

I hope you create more travel videos and you should apply for a travel reporters job..

  • Thanks for the compliment! I have made two since then. Check out my other GT showreels posted on my YouTube page. Thanks for posting!

  • look's nice parle vous francais mosieu

  • Oui, je parle francais aussi. :)

  • Excelent! Great work! Good memorization? or used some sort of teleprompter?

  • haha, teleprompter? no. The crew was very small: myself and either my dad or mom. It was my first showreel and I was pretty happy how it turned out. I've made another since then on Kingston (which is also on my Youtube site) and I'm about to upload my California showreel in the next few days. I'm glad you liked the video. Are you a fan of the show?

  • Oh yes I'am, I have been a fan since it was Lonely Planet when they were just Megan, Ian and Justine. I saw your other work ... very good ... I'm going to wait for the next one since I know a little part of California ....there you have it: a new fan!

  • That's great! I'm a big fan too and an avid traveller! Any favourite episodes? I love so many of them!

  • Favorite! mmmmmm ... all of them are very good, there's none I disliked. I guess some of the best are one with Ian in bolivia, Megan in China, Justine in Scotland...and of course the one about Colombia

  • Cool! I haven't seen all of those but I look forward to seeing them! :)

  • Who's your favorite trekker? Mine is Megan... she is so sensitive and analitical...greeat combination! Ian is all about funny acting! I liked him too

  • I like all the trekkers! I find they all bring something unique and different to the show.

  • Hey, also, if you like Pilot Guides, you should sign up to be a member of the Pilot Guides forum. It's a great place to post messages and chat with other fans. :)

  • That looks great Cynthia! I hope they pick you.

  • Hey melvingoldfarb - thanks so much! Have you checked out the Kingston video too? I'd love to know what you think! I'm almost done making my third showreel, which is on Los Angeles. Should be out next week!!

  • Dricavsa, the music from the show is composed by Ian Ritchie. Hope this helps.

  • Wow I love the video! Did it make it on to the show? Have you hosted? I want to get into that field to some degree but mostly with broadcast journalism involving international relations. Well done, if you good give me any tips I would be very appreciative. What sorftware, computer and camera did you use?

  • Hey Ryguy1450, I haven't heard back from Pilot Guides but I'm not giving up. I'm working on my third showreel at the moment which should be ready in a couple weeks. To make the Quebec and Kingston showreels, I used a point and shoot Sony camera and Windows Movie Maker. For this next showreel, I used a digicamcorder and I'm putting it together with Adobe Primere. Tips? hmm.. live life and have fun - life is so short so make it count :)

  • I thought this was going to be absolute crap but I thought it was pretty good. Montreal still > Quebec

  • Thanks Triachus. I'm glad you liked it. It would be really fun to make a video on Montreal. I enjoy Montreal a lot too!

  • WOW! THIS VIDEO WAS WELL PUT TOGETHER! The presenter and the film makers of this film did an outstanding job. Awesomely great work, and keep it up. KEEP IT UP! You will get what you want if you keep it up!! You guys did great! Awesome job!!! :-)

  • Wow, what a great set of compliments to wake up to! Thank you! I am the one who put the video together as well as the one who is in the video. My parents helped me with some of the filming too. It was so fun to do! I've made a video on Kingston since then (Kingston, Ontario) and I like that one a lot too. Have you seen it? I'm currently working on one on Los Angeles. That one should be finished in about a month.

  • Thanks so much for comments. It's so great to know that other people enjoy watching my videos. I put in a lot of effort into my globetrekker videos (I'm a huge fan of the show!) and your comments are very much appreciated. A big thank you!

  • That's great! Quebec is so beautiful and there is lots to do all year round! You will love it!!

  • Wow, what a nice set of compliments! Have a great trip to Quebec and Montreal! They are two amazing cities. Montreal is full of energy, theatre, music and plenty of food of all kinds, and Quebec is a beautiful historical city with an amazing culture and a very unique look! You'll love them both!!

  • Bonjour!

  • I went to Quebec last summer. Nice to see what it looks like in the winter! And I love the Globe Trekker series too. I always thought that the coolest job in the world would be to be a traveller on the show. But anyone could be a traveller. Cool!

  • I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Quebec is a beautiful city year round. It's always nice to meet another Globe Trekker fan too! Take care :)

  • You speak french so well!

  • Thank you!

  • Why didnt you film Montreal, because Montreal is the central city of Quebec?

  • Montreal is very lively I agree! Quebec City is the capital of Quebec and is also a lovely historic city. I chose to make it about Quebec City because I love the city and its culture, and I also grew up there so it is a very special place for me. I hope you enjoyed the video.

  • what is the theme song behind this video?whre can i find it?

  • Hey thanks amyallcock, you are so sweet! :)

  • I can see that your video has gathered quite a few praises and I just want to add to that number. I've been a huge fan of the show for quite a while now, Megan and Ian are my favorite. Not sure what constructive criticism I can offer but I agree with Is1983IsIs,and try to say a few words while you walk or ski.

  • Thank you Yettobefamous for the suggestions. I will definately keep them in mind while I continue working on my second showreel. Take care.

  • Globetrekker is the best show on tele! This is a really comprehensive showcase of yourself for the globetrekker critics. Great Job! Good luck! What a dream job that would be!

  • I don't like it much for Globe Trekker. Its very good for amateurs. You need to show your face more, and speak clearer, not like tour guide, rather like tourist. When I watch Justine or Ian on Globe Trekker, there is something interesting to it, maybe their subtle jokes? But anyways, just my opinion, from fan of Globe Trekker show.

  • I appreciate your input ls1983lsls. I am currently working on my next showreel so I'll try to keep your suggestions in mind.

  • Being a big fan of the series, I can say this is really, really well done, I'm so impressed - hope you get the job! :)
