Theoretically, sounds good. I work full-time, most of us do (despite trolling youtube, eh?), so if I don't remember what a public representative promised three years ago, it's kind of useful to have someone who does and who checks on progress. Of course, the questions remains: which issues will a reporter remember/chose to cover? The selection of topics presents a certain bias in itself.

Re: your "selection ... bias" statement. Yes, but, rest assured, with the Internet explosion, any bias can find a voice, and likely does. The problem for the rest of us is knowing where to find it -- and whether to trust what we read/hear/see. When the newspapers and magazines die (have you seen the latest Vanity Fair? It's anorexic!), that will be an even more difficult job. I only hope good judgment and common sense are still around.

Too often the Associated Press is reporting on Barack's strolls with Michelle, or about what he and his daughters ordered at the local ice cream parlor. Occasionally, it takes on serious subjects like the situations in Afghanistan or Pakistan. However, anyone with the most rudimentary understanding of the regions can see through the gross oversimplifications and lack of historical/political context embodied within the "journalism." Nobody should take seriously such a farcical organization.
