  • the directions ( if anyone reads them lol) tell you to configure both intake and discharge above the expected snow level

where i live you can get 3 to 4 foot drifts blown up against the house

  • I had a Trane furnace installed . They vented it outside and also piped a fresh air intake but they never connected that pvc pipe to the furnace. They left it near the furnace and said the furnace would draw the fresh air from that pipe there. I had to put a pvc elbow on the furnace where this pipe should be because it got clogged, the furnace room has a cat litter box in it and that may have clogged the opening. Should we add more pvc pipes to connect this fresh air vent to the furnace ?

  • That is incorrect on the installers part. A furnace that comes with 2 pipes should be vented outsidewith both pipes, especially if the room is too small. By doing this the furnace will opeate cleaner and not starve for air & there is no air born dust for it to draw in. No matter how clean we keep our homes, there will always be air bourne dust.

Please read your manual for proper installation instructions. It is your money, have them come back & do it right.

  • @PoolmanZZ I made a mistake,, my husband has pointed out to me that they didn't use a pvc pipe, they used a air vent bag..it's wide and squishy..reminds me sort of like a dryer vent hose, it's coiled..My husband wants to attach a pvc pipe to it using a clamp and then attach the pvc pipe to the furnace, do you think this will work? thanks
