carios7217 didnt do much after the pistols are you fucking joking, jonesy done loads of stuff right up to this day.he wasnt involved with smack for long ,he was always a boozer anyway.didnt do much after the pistols fucks sake, keep up son .
I was just watching this last night. I"ve watched this movie like, 20 times. Stoked they finally put it on DVD. Now if they'd only release a SOUNDTRACK because ALL those Looters songs are amazing!!!! I even liked the Stains/Diane Lane version.
@carlos7217 he had not got. Steve quit drugs in 86 and hasent touched em since. He was actually very successfull after the Pistols. Formed a ton of amazing bands, put out 2 solo albums, did shitload of session work.
it was an exciting time in Vancouver, everyone one had jobs as extras, Cook and Jones formed The Professionals later, also there's an Avengers connection because after the Sex Pistols broke up in SF they hung out (Cook and Jones that is) wrote some songs with the Avengers, 123
and others I think. I'll ask a friend who knows. and update.
This movie is a must see!! Ray Winstone was excellent. And he has a great voice, just check out Quadrophenia. I prefer his vocals over the "real" Looters.
This is NOT the SEX PISTOLS. Yes, one or two members are from the band, but this is a line up of other musicians for this film, one of them being from THE CLASH. There is an actual band whose name is credited at the end of the film for this song, but I forget the name. Diane Lane is friggin AWESOME. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
laura dern looked like a teacher even back in the day. good flick tho, saw it on turner classic movies last friday nite. they show cool movies on friday nites, i was surprised. I liked it alot..
Thanks for the heads-up! From Rhino Home Video, Release Date - 09/16/2008.
(The title's DVD debut features the film restored from original vault elements as well as special new audio commentaries from Adler, Diane Lane and Laura Dern)
years ago my father showed this video . right when i was getting into punk. over a dozen years later this song remains a unknownm classic to me!! great movie!!
i like this clip. she reminds me of me a few years ago before i started to sing in metal bands. i was checking out other bands and i kind of looked up to them. its great to be on stage. this movie is w00t!!
I remember when this movie was filmed in Vancouver in the winter of 79-80 - it was a great time - I have never seen the movie though - Paul Cook and Steve Jones went down to the Smilin' Buddah - the CBGB's of the city - and we turned away because they didn't have ID - I also remember speaking to Ray Winstone - the singer here - at Boomtown Rats concert - fantastic times
Look closely at the screen... no, CLOSER... that's it... The video in question is from a "F-I-L-M" Or for our American chums, a "M-O-V-I-E". It's not R-E-A-L-I-T-Y!! It's an artifice, a fantasy! Make a space in your brain labeled "stuff I'd like to happen but probably won't" & put this in it. STOOPID!!!
Yeah, a movie and it seems it is a stupid one. Boring and the appearance of this "band" is poor. I know they can do better. But okay blame it to the producer and the director and at least they were young and needed the money.
You won't budge on this one will ya! Sorry for my previous sarcasm, I'd taken a few drinks last night & was enjoying being provocative! The performance is ok though, don't you think? & that IS Ray Winstone actually singing, not miming. I dunno, I think it's rather good.

WINSTONE is definately aiming for LYDONESQUE sneering/agression here....it doesn't QUITE pull off, but an above-average try, nonetheless..........a decent effort, all round.
