  • It'd be very good if we could see the whole episode.... thanks for uploading!

  • This scene is such soapish trash, LOL :D It's for the brains of children of course, but if you look at TODAYS shows for grownups, i can't see much difference. Perhaps we're totally retarded ...

  • Who fired those missles?

  • Thanks for this scene

The Arabic version didn't cut this scene :) I don't know why it wasn't there in the German version !!!

  • Thanx for uploading. Never ve seen this scene. In german TV they cut it out. But in the official Panini Foto Album of 1983 there were pictures of that scene. I ve ever wandered about it.

  • oh boy, thanx so much for uploading. too bad they cut out so much from german version (wich i love) so its really wonderful finding this stuff here. thank you!

  • There are cut about 25 minutes per storyline. They cut four episodes down to three...

    :(

  • Yeah, the german version was shortened down, but I must admit I think they did a pretty good job of concentrating the story and making it into a really entertaining show with a great rhythm to it.

I must admit I like the German version best - I didn't need the violence or the distressing backstory at all to this day I think that the reason why there is so much violence on TV is not because people need it but because they watch because it provokes them.

C.Bruhn's music is 100% pure genius, too.

  • @progress2007: Sorry to disagree, but the German edit sucks completely! Right from the first episode on, there are always parts where you are entirely lost as a viewer until you realize that - again! - some important development in the plot has just been skipped, making the whole show quite stupid in terms of script. I don't know why they did it in the first place, but it is nothing short of revulting for a fan to see.

  • Thanks for uploading! I understand that they cut some scenes in the German version back in 1979 (even this way, there were many parants complaining about the "violent" scenes). But at least in the new DVD version they should have shown the complete movie!

  • Hey friend, why don't you upload the whole episode at least please? It's awesome to see it in English, a little bit different from Spanish!

  • I agree with that too. Mercury is the best soundtrack for Captain Future

  • BTW: The recutting of TV-shows was very common at that time. As you mentioned, there was another reason: they wanted TV-shows for children. So they also recut the old Star Trek Show and redesigned whole stories (e.G. PonFarr - Weltraumfieber)!

  • The german version was in fact cut to new episodes because of the childrens holiday tv-broadcast (ZDF-Ferienprogramm). There was not enough time to air every episode in full length so they cut it down and left out some stories as well!

Except for one story (die Sache mit den Weltraumsteinen....) every four part story was recut to a three part story where many parts of course are missing.

I really like to see the uncut version!

  • to all who are interested:

i watched the german version in my childhood and now i see the us-version of it. it appears to me the gv was adapted to fit a younger audience. it is heavily cut to get rid of all parts that may be distressing or add some profoundness to the story. thus today the gv is very confusing to me as the storyline suffered heavily from all the cuts.

as everbody i love the soundtrack i heard in my childhood. so there are two things which i cannot enjoy together. :-|

  • this sucks, this scene was completely cut from the german version of captain future. as i know the scene where he meets the girls is in the first epsiode (german title "the ruler of megara") but when she runs away he just thinks "and she is a beautiful girl too" instead of "this must be like when my father met my mother" and the story just continues on megara.

  • Funny this is actually a remake of the old roman Hercules theme, of the easy and the difficult path. And hero picking the difficult path to help others...

  • No offense meant, but the dubbing in English is rather dull. Go listen to the French dubbing, it is stunning. :-)

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • 00:54 xDxDxD lol listen how stupid she laughs when she runs away.

  • I totally remember watching this as a child. Not on TV, but definitely on VHS.

  • backgound music from Mark Mercury, the best soundtrack

  • sorry but the best captain future soundtrack is from christian bruhn. it is the german soundtrack.
