I mean, if ur trying to dress to impress, its stupid becuz converse have a special twinkle that if u only wear them becuz u think that everyone will luv u, thats using. I feel that if u do that, the converse r not good. I look at my converse like people, and I think that ur using them in the wrong way if u do that.

You probs laced them wrong, or they didn't fit. Or they wern't broken in.

My don't hurt (Their also about 1/2 size too big, so maybe try buying them a bit bigger) but one day I laced them too tightly, and had to fix them because I could not stand it. Mine are hightops, and their my favoritteeeee shoes ! :D
