Dyer is going to be a soph. but Mario Fannin SHOULD be a first rounder. Big, intelligent, physical back that has soft hands and blocks with a mean streak. We run tings, tings nah run we!
i honestly dont know why ppl keep doing updates to running back u videos....its going to change just about every year the way AU recruits RB's. so go ahead and add ben tate now, then in a couple years add mccalebb, then after that dyer lol, heck you could prolly add Fanin
@jefftink34 my hs team beat Bostic's team 24-7 for the state championship and usa today #3 national ranking in 1990. the dumbass coach only gave him 5 carries.
The argument over the real running back u is between completely different decades. USC and Nebraska had a great string of running backs during the 60's, 70's and early 80's. BUT, ever since Auburn had Bo Jackson (1985) Auburn has been pumping out the draft picks at running back.
Barry sanders is in the top ten but thurman thomas isnt. Ill give you Earl Campbell but Cedric benson sucks and there is no telling how many drugs Ricky Williams is on. Bo Jackson is in the top five and Cadillac and ronnie brown would be if the other one was not there. Sanders isnt the greatest of all time that still belongs to Herschel Walker.
SC, is the craddle of runnig back civilization Heisman Trophy winners Mike Garrett, TB (1965) O. J. Simpson, TB (1968) Charles White, TB (1979) Marcus Allen, TB (1981) Reggie Bush, TB (2006) 1ST TEAM ALL-AMERICANS Frank Gifford, HB (1952) Jon Arnett, RB, KR, PR (1957) Sam Cunningham,FB (973) Anthony Davis, RB (1974) LenDale White, RB (2006)
Just saw the preview to "Perfect Effort" about De La Salle's 12 year winning streak. It looks like a pretty inspirational movie. Search for it on youtube or it's website perfecteffort (dot) com
Running Back U is Oklahoma State University. Nobody who ever played at Auburn would rank higher than #3 at OSU, behind Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas.
Miami? That's a laugh. Auburn, USC, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are among several schools far more deserving of that title than Thug U in South Florida.
Oklahoma State didn't have "two great running backs." They've had LOTS of great running backs, they had the greatest running back in the game's history, and another that's in the top five.
If you don't think they're in the top 10, you don't know a football from a turnip. None of the schools you mentioned has the legacy of great running backs of Oklahoma State. USC is close. Miami is laughable.
thurman isnt top 5 not even top 20 of all. barry is
a special case cause he only played one year.
and who are these other great backs you speak of??? there arent any dude!!!
2 runningbacks does not mean shyt. if thats the case texas is #1 cause no other team can boast 3 runningbacks the calibur of benson williams & campbell
Sanders did NOT only play one year. He was on the team 3 years, on the bench behind a better running back, Thomas...one of the top 5 ever unless you're so biased you can't stand reality.
And yes, there are other great backs, dude (what are you, 12 years old? Dude?)
Just say "My team rules! Your team sucks!" instead of pretending to know anything about football beyond your own team.
lol like i said he only played one year he was a bench warmer his first 2 years.
ricky williams ron dayne hershel walker reggie bush
bo jackson thats the top5
and do these other great backs have names??? no they dont cause you are just making shyt up. THEY dont exist or else you would have told me who they are
Sanders, Thurman Thomas,Terry Miller, Bob Fenimore were all either inducted into the hall of fame or finished in the top three in the Heisman vote in their respective year. Vernand Morency and Tatum Bell are two recent products that started games in the NFL.
They may not be THE TailBack U, but they are certainly one of the most underrated programs for running backs.
I'm not a hater here, but The Tide had a few running backs in their day as well...Shaun Alexander (all american), Wilbur Jackson, Bobby Humphrey (2-time all american), Johnny Musso (2-time all american), Shaud Williams, Dennis Riddle, Sherman Williams, Tony Nathan, Ricky Moore, Major Ogilvie, Linnie Patrick. Perhaps not in the top 5 but worthy of mention.
I am going to say Miami is the #1 Running back U. So many good running backs to come out of there. I would totally put Auburn at #2 or possibly tied at #1 but everyone is forgetting Miami. I am not even a Miami fan and I have to put them there. I am a Virginia Tech fan. Couple of good RB's came out of there but nothing compared to Miami and Auburn.
i think #2 is too high for Auburn. Brooks, Cribbs, Fullwood, C. Williams and Lionel James were all good, All-conference types. Bostic, Brown, Jacobs, and even my favorites Agee and Andrews, were system players. The only transcedent player of the last 30 years was Bo. Others such as Danley, James Joseph etc.. can be found in every college program.
Yeah, think about that late 70's backfield: Joe Cribbs, William Andrews, and James Brooks...a big time triple threat. But sadly, Doug Barfield came into a bad situation.
they didn't have a great back for over 25 years...USC is not TB U...
beat this list:
Agee,Andrews,BO,Beasley,Brooks,Brown,Cribbs,Fullwood,Jacobs,Davis,Richardson,Danley,Bostic,Caddilac,Evans,Rudi,etc....all in USC's drought period!
Georgia is the only team that can come close to that list, not USC.
Frank Sinkwich ('42 Heisman), Charley Trippi (HOFer), Theron Sapp, Glynn Harrison, Kevin McLee, Jimmy Poulos, Willie McClendon, HERSCHEL, Lars Tate, Tim Worley, Garrison Hearst, Robert Edwards, Musa Smith
Auburn has the advantage recently (and you forgot about Lionel James), but Georgia historically has had better runners.
Ha, thats the biggest load of shit ive ever heard!,Fredrickson, Cribbs , Jackson, James, Johnson, Williams , Brown, Irons, Jacobs, Ill give u Walker but come on Auburn is Running Back U,
I get the feeling a few years from now we will be seeing "Running Back U" videos featuring a #5
