@nashinka Dear user, with all natural Venetian plasters it is very important to use only a special kind of colorants built to stand the lime. Otherwise the color will fade in few months.
Looks like too much money effort for a temporary theme. Unless you have a multi-million dollar mansion, this amount of work isn't worth the effort. Normal people live in there houses and change colors and themes of their rooms every four to seven years. Go with the home depot product, get tired of it, and change it back to the standard before you sell your house.
Great video, im a Plasterer in the UK, I do mainly Lime Plastering, but Im really interested in learning this skill. Can anyone tell me where to get hold of the materials to do the job i.e the Primer/Plaster/wax etc. Many thanks!
@mikeplas2204 Dear user, please contact our sales dept on info@coverit.it and we'll be glad to give you further details about our distributors. Thank you.
@mikeplas2204 HI how are you? i have a long experience Venetian plaster sintetic and natural, same for marmorino, as i worked several years in Venice betwen Villas in Venice and Riviera del brenta and churches!
I know a guy in the UK he's on decorative plastering, blue wall, I have his dvd and it is delivered so well, he talks about absolutely everything, here they don't show a large area or highlight shortfalls, guy in Essex is pretty dam good and shows virtually the lot with the knowledge and detail.

when this is done RIGHT it will last a very long time and look and feel amazing, yes u can go cheep and maybe get a similar look, but it will NOT be the same. go to italy and check out the old palazos
Anyone who is attempting this finish should probably be taken out behind the shed for a reality check. If your using drywall mud, Behr products, or suggesting just painting the texture the color you want, doesn't really the goal of TASTE!!! Authentic V. Plasters and Marmorino's are amazing if done properly, though every blow hard with a Drywall or Stucco background trying this will most likely screw it up, and not even no it, all their doing is lowering expectations...Nice Guys!!!
All you have to do is buy premixed drywall mud, take some out - add 1-2 cups of water [depending on how big the container is, I used a 5 gallon pail] add a $2. tube of colour tint and mix until it is like porridge- then scrape on your wall! If you want you can give 2-3 coats [let dry btwn coats] - then rub in [with a damp cloth] a darker colour. Maybe 1-2 shades darker or even metallic. Then burnish [rub/scrape lightly] with scraper. Saved hundreds on crappy "designer" paints or plasters!
Hey there, Behr is the brand that comes prepared in a variety of different colors. They have completely different instructions with regards to polishing. I did two walls and it came out fantastic. I went one step further and added copper leafing between coats. It looks really nice. I think the toughest part of the Behr Venetian Plaster Product is the time and effort required to burnish! My shoulders were on fire. But great effect - totally different from a faux finish paint job!
i see some comments from people who know pretty much about this so i'll try my luck here
first of all i dont have any experience in this (guess putting up mosaic on a tiny bathroom doesnt count..)
we are moving in a new house and we'll make a little bathroom upstairs.i was thinking of a venetian theme for it.i would not dare to even think of plaster on all the walls but could it be possible for a novice to put plaster on an about 2 m2 part of a wall??
Hello. Venetian plaster technique is not so hard, of course the more you apply, the better your result will be. If you can, I suggest that you try before on a "less-important" wall, such as garage walls or something like that, to practise. The most important thing for an application in a bathroom is the wax at the end of the work and possibly do not apply Venetian plaster in the part of walls which can be wet, like shower walls. Anyway watch carefully this video to get the correct way to apply.
Hello. Of course you can apply Venetian Plaster, with the protection of natural wax, in bathrooms, but not in walls which can be wet. So in this case unfortunately it is not recommended.
I am a plasterer from USA (North Carolina) and when I am waxing it is usually application with a spatula whereas some of the plasters absorbs wax unevenly and quickly and may (I learned it a hard way) it creates spots if rubbing it into the plaster or when wet.
yes is very espensive but is beautiful to see our team is doing 8 floors hotel in italy and ours stucco veneziano is much more beautiful than this one remember marmorino has one effect stucco veneziano has another anyway every professional decorator has is way to do it but remember is not the shine that counts but the effect
What colors were used in this video?

This is nothing but good markering.
Two experienced guys aplaying V. Plaster without any
idea how they can got final effect to make wall like realy cutted stone.
Years ago when I did my first project with V. Plaster I did like them .
Later, after I spend lots of plaster I found out "undercoat" is not
neccesesri becouse V. Plaster is sticking better than any plaster
compaund . Today I am making Venetian Plaster myself. It cost me much less
than I paid in the paint store.

if you want I can send you my private email address, let me know and thank you in advance.
