  • wow I never knew Led Zeppelin did this song! AMAZING!

  • johnny burnette trio's is the best version by far

  • WHOA!

  • I can't fathom why JPJ went from the best bass tone in the history of popular music, to that foul-sounding Alembic. It sounds like he's opened up a piano and he's hacking away on the strings.

Before you all get butthurt, know that I think him and Jamerson were the 2 best bass players that have ever touched that instrument.

  • @allrequiredfields I LOVE the albemic although here not so much I prefer it on the 77 tour

  • arrow smith is not in the same league as Led Zeppelin they wish they where .

  • @z512345 aerosmith is still classic

  • Truly awesome.

  • Bonham died Sept of 80

  • Love my Led Zep! Love me some Robert Plant! He is still as fine as ever! Not like that botox clown Steven Tyler!

  • Just fucking listen to JPJ. My god. Amazing.

  • It's just like 1969 all over again but 12 years later....they're still hungry, still tight, still all-powerful, still insanely brave.....but without the naivety of youth and a lot more life experience. I personally believe this band had another 10 solid years in them. But at the same time, it now seems like destiny that they went out when they did - on top and in the highest esteem. Brilliant band.

  • @OhhShakeItBaby totally agree!!

  • I'm smiling brightly right now.

Zeppelin is a life style, nothing to say, they changed my life, his music is like heaven.

I'm going to create my own religion called Zeppelinism (if it doesn't exist already)?

  • @TrafficMind10 Oh, it does, whoever listens to Zeppelin on a daily basis adhers to the Zeppelinism

  • I'm pretty sure you're off with the date. Zeppelin wasn't even around in the 80's. They broke up in 79'.

  • @1YearOff1 No the date is right. They broke up in 1980 after Bonhams death, not 1979. Also, they broke this song out for the 1980 Over Europe tour.

  • If you want to see and hear the original rock guitarist that played the distortion licks on this song 1956.(covered by this group and others).Search-Paul Burlison..Go down to-Rock and Roll Trio-Part Three..second song..then go to the original cut in 1956..Johnny Burnette..Train Kept Rollin

  • well I wouldnt go that far, early Aerosmith before 86, was good., not better then Zep in anyway.

  • AEROSMITH SUCKS DONKEY COCKS!!!!! GET OVER IT YOU TASTELESS BASTARDS!!!!! AEROSMITH ISN"T EVEN IN THE BALL PARK AS LED ZEPPELIN!!!!! AEROSMITH IS A"WATERED DOWN" AMERICAN BULLSHIT VERSION OF GREAT ENGLISH BANDS WHO REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!! THEY SUCK AND SO DO YOU LOSERS!!!!!!

  • @derelict74 Dude go back to your Backstreet Boys CDs or what ever Hip Hop song thats flavor of the month. Aerosmith is American Rock N Roll Royalty.

  • @fordmoto100 thats true and theres not a lot so APPRECIATE them.

  • @derelict74 I don't know why you think we suck donkey cocks, but we don't do that kinda stuff... maybe you suck donkey cocks...

wtf man.. I do not even know why you fuck your own mother with that mouth...

  • @derelict74 fuck you

  • pagey being sloppy on heroin my ass

  • oh jimmy? oh jimmy :o OH JIMMY!!

  • the silliest thing that Led Zeppelin ever did: not record this awesome piece of music (WHY?!?!?!?!?!)

  • @nothingbutrock666 I think they did it's somewhere in my Outtakes album if i found it through these hundreds of cd's ill post it.

  • Aerosmith fucking blows!!!!!! Get real. They were a watered down, crappy American version of the Stones and/or Zepp. You can velvet or velvetine.......

  • @derelict74 hahaah worst statement ever, gz

  • @derelict74 watered down my ass, just cuz they weren't as "good" does not mean watered down, they had all the intensity, if not more than Led Zeppelin

  • I can hear heaven! ... oh no I'm wrong, it was led zeppelin.

  • alot of power in this, but i must say aerosmith made the song awesome

  • @kalleskit Yeah but Jeff Beck actually came up with this version of the song.

  • @alexjcdenton yea, he came up with the great riff, i know :)

  • Please step away from the Wah-Wah

  • Plant sounds a lot like his Honeydrippers stuff. Pretty cool, I like this version.

  • @nww009 Plant sounds like Plant. Full stop.

  • @coltsuperocean10 lol, I just saw the year. 1980, that's why.

  • Oh Jimmy!

  • Aerosmith is most known for train kepta rollin!!!!!!

  • @aerosmithfan11 this song was written before bolth bands though

  • @jitk1 yea ik it was written by a guy with the first name tiny, Aerosmith opened up the las vegas concert july 31st i went to Aerosmith made this song great

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone calm your shits. Both Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin are great bands. Led Zeppelin is #1 for me and Aerosmith is #4 for me in my top bands. Anyways, what matters is that the members of Aerosmith absolutely love Led Zeppelin and pulled a lot of their influence from them. You can even hear it in their songs. The bands or members of each band have also played together on numerous occasions and respect each other. Both bands are amazing in their own right and neither should be disrepected.

  • Yeah, seeing as Led Zeppelin waas voted number one out of thousands of bands and musicians across time and space... THey are number one. And always will be. Know why? Because everything they touched they didnt have to sell out to get. How many bands sold out just to get superstar status?? Alot. Led Zeppelin had their own label just to do what the fuck they felt like doing. That is what a true rockstar is made of.

  • aerosmith does train the best imo

  • amazing

  • led zeppelin's playing. i know it's time to get the led out!!!!!!

  • Whatchu tlkn bout?!!? Aerosmiths is wayyyy better!

  • @AerosmithForce1 ... your an asss!!!!

  • @dancedanceexxoo thats not nice

  • @AerosmithForce1 i agree

  • @KingNube Thank You

  • @KingNube Wait agree with who?

  • @AerosmithForce1 i agree with you

  • @AerosmithForce1 um no well Led Zeppelin is in fact, better, fucker

  • The version recorded on this tour in Brussels was kick-ass a little heavier for some reason. At any rate, they blow Aerosmith's away any day of the Goddamned week!

  • note to self: next time play train kepta rollin with a wah pedal

  • Cool version of "Train Kept a Rollin'", but this video really gets good on "Nobody's Fault But Mine"

  • Brb im gonna change my pants cause I got too excited 0_o

  • piss on Aerosmith . I prefer the way the Yardbirds did this to any other version .This version smells of cocaine

  • Dude give Zeppelins 69' version of this a try. Its the first result on a youtube search of "Led Zeppelin Train kept a rollin"

  • I have heard Zep do some smokin versions of this . I will look for that one

  • @5Cincinnatus

    And that is bad?

  • @5Cincinnatus "This version smells of cocaine" Bwahaha! What a great way to put it!

  • The 1977 Live Versions Of This Song Are

Much Better , Especially The Solo Parts

  • True! More improv and raw.. I love the GNR version although.. (Paris 1992)

  • *whiskey

  • the version from "live at the whickey a go-go!!! was much better

  • I remember back in the early 90's I actually heard this played on a local phoenix az radio station. I think it was 93.3 KDKB. It was Zeptember promo or something, playing blocks of Zep songs every hour or something. The DJ said it was from the BBC 1969, but I knew better.

  • lol sounds fucked up? aerosmiths version of this owns ass

  • THESE GUYS ARE THE BADDEST-ASSES!!!

  • @austingunsmoke

btw, it wasn't the accuracy of his live playing, but rather his composing. Plus, if he was not so sloppy, those riffs he was playing would just sound like any other band. The sloppyness adds dimension.

  • Yeah I agree that his composing was incredibly gifted...I was just stuck in that (who's the best "guitarist" mode)....musically I do think Bonhams power thud was pretty unique and he'd would definitely bring anyone up a notch....laters

  • dude, this band was a ballance of four seriously talented musicians... yes bonham kicked ass but each member brought a dynamic that when blended made for some timeless shit!

  • What the hell are you talkin' about? Who said anything about Vai?.......had to get that quality last line in eh hoser? I'll talk to ya in a month or two.Laters.

    signed

    35 year Bad-A Guitarist

  • Well, you say Jimmy is sloppy. So I give an EXAMPLE, read, EXAMPLE, of a guy who is fast enough to say, "he IS fast" without anyone complaining about it.

Now, if you wanna fight over the net, you got the wrong dude today troll ;)

  • hey man why are you trippin' on me so much?...first,the comment was like a month ago...it was right to free speech criticism..even acknowledged in the original critique that Page pulled off some good shit...I get this comment out of the blue talkin' about Vai and I couldn't even hear your angle..SCUSE me..OK it's an example....I get it....hell I'd buy you a cold beer if it'll help you chill...your page looks like we're into alot of the same shit..WTF kinda uncool

  • JPJ you are awesome, paige you rock too.. mind is blown

  • is it a soundboard record or what? the audio is really sharp

  • It probably is. Jimmy used to say that he had tons of properly recorded live Zep material. Years later, around the time How the West was Won and the Live DVDs came out, he found that a lot of those things had vanished.

  • gotta love it man!

  • zep is all i need

  • lo mas grande LED ZEPPELIN for ever

  • Too bad Plant didn't know the words to the goddamn song. :-)

  • this was originally a TIny Bradshaw song, so it wasnt The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, or Aerosmith that wrote it. this is good, but they rush it. I like Aerosmith's version better.

  • such a shame... had tickets to the opening date in chicago for the gigantic 1980 US Tour. This is a very punk version of this song...sweet

  • This was the first song they ever jammed at their first rehearsal. They knew right away what they had.

  • @scabonz

I heard that before as well but found out later it was "Lets Play House" by Elvis. From Jimmy's own mouth.

  • @scabonz this was also one of the last songs they played with bonham too in their last concert july 1980 I have the tape

  • paid tribute to aerosmith?

    that's fucked up.

    zeppelin has been playing

    this since 68.

    ?????????????????????

  • Read some history dude...get yourself some knowledge...

  • Point he trying to make is that this was originally a Yardbirds song -- Aerosmith later did a cover of it.

  • The Yardbirds did not write it, but they helped make it famous. Page was in the Yardbirds when they recorded their version.

  • That is correct, but my point was that the Yardbirds version preceeded Aerosmith's version. Aerosmith's rendition gets a lot of radio-play so people tend to attribute the song to them.

  • Jimmy Page was not in The Yardbirds when they recorded Train Kept A Rollin. Jeff Beck was in the band when it was recorded. Jimmy replaced the bassist , Paul Samwell-Smith after this song was recorded.

  • Play guitar and love music...but got a life beyond that too. Wasn't big on Yardbirds...sorry...though Page is my idol. Didn't do Aero much...so assumed it was theirs.

  • if you want to hear Page's best playing with the Yardbirds , buy the "Little Games " album . Excellent.

  • this is a yardbirds song not stupid aerosmith

  • hey hey hey.. lets not say things we cant take back...and its not a yardbird song its a Johnny Burnette and the rock n roll trio's song...

  • but this riff is from Jeff Beck, they couldn't record the lyrics tho, so they made Stroll on

  • its neither of their songs, its tiny bradshaws song which sounds nothing like the yardbirds, zeppelin or aerosmiths version.

  • @steelhill95

True, but it's most associated with The Yardbirds and the Johnny Burnette Trio.

  • awesome post!

  • Great sound quality, and the greatest band of all time to perform.

    LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER!!!!!

  • JIMMY IS A MOTHERFUCKER HERE< and I mean that in a good way.

  • it's a fucking wah wah pedal and some compression device, very average and normal and fucking rocks and you know it

  • Great.

  • This is a ok tune but considering that zeppelin was just warming up for a US tour it is ok

  • uhm this was there last tour before bonham died so no

  • They didnt know he was gonna die. So they were prolly planing to do a us tour :P

  • It was Led Zeppelin: The Eighties and it would have melted your f ing face

  • züri rockt...........ohni freitagstasche

  • In a way i like and dislike all the effects used on Train Kept a Rollin
