  • Wow, lovely. Great mix of images, too. I really only knew Paul Hardcastle from "19," which was like a million years ago. I looked this up, and Helen Rogers is on vocals. Never heard of her, but a beautiful voice. Might have to see what she has on iTunes.

  • Very Nice cover. Thank you.

  • God this version is really really beautiful. I was afraid to listen to it as not to kill the buzz of the original.

  • The fisrt picture of this video is in vancouver ,the lost lagoon on Stanly park .

  • This is the version I heard on my car radio last year! Now I finally find out who's singing it. Great version:-)

  • very nice!

  • I was hesitant to even listen to this---it's really beautiful.

  • @Alwaystuned - I agree, I was terrified to listen to it in case it ruined my eternal love for the original version, but this is a really superb rendition. This music reminds me of open roads, travel, freedom and losing my virginity to a hot gal in a sleeping bag in the mountains...sweet!

  • Great version. Really.

  • the original song is by the band "America."

  • muito dedez

  • Simply beautiful.

  • i don't know what you are all talking about but this is absolute garbage. Especially when you take in to account that this isn't an original of thiers, which would be DRAB enough, He took a great inovative song by a great group, so again how wrong could he really go, and I have owned Hardcastle albums before, but he turned it into some carbon copy generic cut out peice of real crap. There is absolutely no spirit to this.

  • I really love this tune. It is what I call easy listening music. Reminds me of hearing an unexpected song playing in a department store while shopping and you can't help but start singing it or cutting a few steps to the music. While sipping a glass of wine and listening to "danichiki" tunes, I have managed to clean my entire kitchen. What seemed like a bothersome chore has turned out to be "not so bad". I danced and sang the whole while. SHOUT OUT TO DANICHIKI!!!!! KEEP IT COMING!!!!!

  • Actually, this is not that bad. Though it was Shakatak......

  • Who, for the sake of God, is singing this song?....IT IS JUST PERFECT!!!!!!!

  • wow this is complete crap compared to americas original version

  • this is perfect for cruising in the summertime through a nice desert scenerie

  • one of my favorites fa sho!!

  • songs gotta get 10 points.

  • as beautiful as a symphony I wrote

  • Icky!!!

  • excellent. faviorted!

  • A very good cover

    thanks for posting.

  • This is probably one of the best covers I heard in a long time.Hardcastle did a cd 'milinnium skyway' fetured vocals by helen r. somone pleasn correct the spelling. The cd is very hard to find now.

  • This is great. I have never heard this song sung by anyone other than America!

  • O_O WOAH! This is so awesome! WOW!

  • Great cover,Janet Jackson sampled the original.Paul Hardcastle just never stops.

  • i think mthat this version is better than americas this one should have done better

  • This song is the shit! love it

  • After listening to America nearly everyday off and on since the 70s, I have to say this is a great new version with melodic tones and a smoothing and capturing voice. Thanks for posting.

  • They remade the america song!

  • ♪♪♪ simply amazing!

  • Pretty good version. Like most music, the original is usually the best. After reading some of these comments though I was expecting finger nails on a chalkboard. Four stars from me, I like her voice.

  • Eww, they completely butchered the song.

  • this song sounds like the end of a anime. lol

  • @Speer82 now that you say it , it sounds almost like the ending song to neon genesis evangelion lol

  • @Speer82 fucking anime porn perverted japanese manga shit

  • @hashbrownsandeggs to each his own brother, to each his own, now plz may we have peace?

  • @Speer82

  • I love this song... in any version. A beautiful song is always a beautiful song.

  • Not really. Whoever sang this version is horrible.

  • Uma das mais maravilhosas musicas que ja ouvi, principalmente nesta versão.

    Magnifica.Solange Sbcampo.

  • Good version, but certainly no America. I guess if you're in to some elevator type music or something, this is great!

    Peace

  • The fire truck and police sirens you listen to must be damaging your senses of hearing and love.

  • nah.. I'm don't mean to say this version is bad, but I definitely prefer the original put out by America. I appreciate the rawness and the timelessness America continues to express. In some part, I just grew up listening to America and not this band.

    Peace

  • Very nice.

  • This is actually a nice song...

I was sort of skeptical, since my dad listens to smooth jazz, but when it came on in the car I loved it.

    :D

  • wow really good version

  • paul hardcastle's version.

    GREAT!!! as always

  • Love America .best song of all time but this is well done also ,a far more moody feel as reflected by the photos.

  • Love this remake

  • Wait, when did this come out?

    i

and Can you send me this song? :D

  • Hi Danichiki, . . and again, with a big smile, THANK YOU for granting my request.

  • When this song came out I wasn't even close to born lol which is 1972.

  • Timeless classic!

  • Each to there own, remember that. this is nice, e upped nice. I as others have an opinion. The former bliss, thiss also, it just depends on where you are at the time :o) o:)

  • I'd rather the america's version

  • two different versions of the same song. thats all.

  • sounds okay but without the acoustic guitars it's like coffee without sugar

  • gay

  • Sorry, nothing to do with the original one, which is much better. By this version the nature and spirit of the song is lost.

  • Not at all. I heard this before the original and it's taken nothing away from it. I wouldn't even know of the song if it wasn't for this. I think nothing of the freedom or insouciance of the original track is lost. The jazz format conjures perfect images of breeze on my face and a sunny drive down that highway.

  • It's up to one's taste. I keep on preferring the original one, which I feel it's much better.

  • Good version *****

  • Not often you can say that a cover version of a song is better but Helen Rogers vocals are very captivating. Can someone ask Direct Drive to reform so i can actually see what Helen looks like and sing Pass the paper with her..

  • Very nice...

  • esta versión es realmente fantastica

  • I agree, Helen's voice is untouchable.

  • I LIKE!

  • love this tune, somehow reminds me of janet jacksons song

  • cause she sampled this song (not this one, the original by america)

  • 2:15-2:30 Favorite transition. :)

  • Dewey Bunnell should be proud of this beautifu remake of his song!

  • this song makes me think of summer i think it's just the melody...

  • I really like the Jazzmaster series...I especially like this version of Ventura Highway...and if you ever drove the Ventura Highway, you could relate to this song...I used to when I was in the Navy...friend and I used to bike all over So. Cal. Thanks for posting...your a sweetheart!

  • lol my bad i read the note above, questioned answered.

  • Hey thanks for posting this, greatly appreciated. What album is this off of? Gosh Helen has some of the best tone quality I've ever heard in my life.

    Best,

    David

  • jazzmasters 3

  • Hey man, I didn't know this version and I loved this jazzy version of one of the most beautiful songs ever. Thank you 4 the video and, so far, unknown version.

  • umm ok everyone..if you guys are gonna be all mean and everything while watching this video im not gonna delte your comments but i will delete the whole video and that way no one gets to watch it, so behave or else

  • I was looking for this version of for a while I am very happy that I finally found it thanks x

  • how are we dumb cause we think its better that the genius of paul hardcastle and remastering a song in your own way lol its nothing to get mad about i like the old version but this too me is better!

  • wow...this is actually pretty good.

  • this vesion is every bit as good as americas , but in a totally different way .

i listen to both versions over and over .

    she's got a lovely voice

  • this version isnt better than the original u guysare idiots

  • i love this version its much smoother and up beat!

  • This is a nice version, but I listen to the America version about 10 times each day. Just a little Ventura Highway obsessed!!!!!

  • can't blame you. its one of their best songs. nothing compares to the sound, the feeling you get when you listen to it. its amazing.

  • A nice version, but the original by america is by far the best.

  • Helen Rogers' voice is so clean. One of my fav singers. Thanks for posting..

  • Great sound love the jazzy sound

  • Helen Roger's voice is par excellent, and this version is better than the original!

  • Beautiful song.

    Better than America's version.

  • NO lol. But this version is very good.

  • q delicia de musica!

  • W☺nderful "America" c☺ver : D ♪♫♪♫

  • No disrespect to America but I like this version better also. So smooth.

  • America originally did this.Although I think this version sounds a little better

  • A cabin attendant is a flight attendant, flight steward or if your a female, a stewardess.

  • This is one of those remakes of America's classic done by by Paul Hardcastle , i touch of jazz and Helen Rogers voice makes this updated version make me wanna go back to California and hit the freeways again, . . Santa Monica, Route 101, Pacific Coast highway . . What better way to get the feel of the american way of life than experiencing the clover leafs of LA . Thank you for posting danichiki . .i appreciate it . :-)

  • from this and previous comments its clear that youve traveled and experienced alot in life from various places of the world..must be very nice

    and no thanks necessary
