You can also add a G7 in between the G and C instead of doing 4 measures of G then 2 measures of C do 2 measures of G then 2 measures of G7 then 2 measures of C

@islandkid13yahoo Indeed. Seventh chords (i.e., G7) can be a nice way to transition to a 4 chord, or from a 4 chord or 5 chord back to a 1 chord. Or a 2 chord up to a 5 chord.

Most important to keep in mind, however, is that seventh chords are merely embellishments which can be added to the chord structure, not an integral part of it. One should always think about the basic chord structure first, then add sevenths if they like...but they're just icing on the cake.
