  • Hey I was just wondering what software you would recommend to be used with a AKAI MPD 32.... thx

  • How do you connect your controller? MIDI or straight USB?

  • THATS MONEEY! which song did you sample from?

  • THAT" WS FIREEE!!!

  • this is absolutely amazing--this particular beat. Is there anywhere I can buy a copy of this? Or if not any way I can pay you for a copy of this, just for personal listening? this is has been in my favorites for over a year and I keep coming back to it. 10/5 stars.

  • does it works with acid pro? nice beat

  • @handbeat yes it should work with Acid Pro as well since the MPD is a midi controller

  • @handbeat acid ok check out da vid

  • Nice beat =) Just wondered if you had any input on wether to go for the Akai mpd24 or the Korg padKontrol for making beats like this?

  • Nice beat. Just wondered if you had any input on wether to for the akai mpd24 or the korg padkontrol for making beats like this?

  • @Bound47 never used a korg. I would recommend getting the MPD32

  • @Bound47 i have had the padkontrol and it is way better,,,the pad sensors are square so if you miss the middle of the pad wqhen you tap it it wont mattert,,,akai have round pad sensors

  • this is fresh yo! whats the name of the sample

  • nice work!!

  • interesting...i like...:-)

  • samples and sounds to this MPD you have to add by yourself or they are in there instead??

  • @burn5495 the MPD is just a midi controller. The sounds and samples are actually loaded into the program Reason 4.0

  • Well done xxjajxx.. nice

  • can you assign your own samples on to any pad?

also, is this considered a sampler or a drum machine? or both?

  • @madpanth yes you can assign any sample to any pad if you have the right software. Its actually just a midi controller and none of the above. I use it with Reason 4.0

  • @xxdjajxx thanks

  • @madpanth you can assign the samples to any pad using your DAW, in this case I am using Reason 4. Its consider neither, its actually a midi controller.

  • @xxdjajxx i got the same set up...reason4 and i have an mpd24..never figured out how to use it...how the hell do you sample with an mpd?

  • I just got one qwestion why you got that wristband on your other hand?

  • @theANT47 i have focal dystonia in my right hand and it helps out when I wear it

  • yeooo dis shit mad illie, awsome vibes when i listened to this. DO WORK N GET SOME !

  • your sample flip and chops are awesome i love to see "REAL" Hip Hop at it core, great job!

  • this beat makes me thirsty i like it

  • absolutly great

  • I got inspired and when I have enough money, I'm goin to buy my own Akai mpd 24 pad controll! Your beats are awesome!

  • this is so sick. youre amazing. can't wait to get my own!

  • at first i wasn't really convinced with the bass drum, seemed a little out of 'synch'.. But when the beat slowly evolved into a relaxed laidback beat, it really caught my attention! :) Loved it. 5/5

  • this one hell of a jam

  • not bad at all. I'm also digging the golfers hat. I have several of those myself.

  • How would I go about using my electric guitar,Mpd and my mac live through a PA system? Do I need a special unit? And would I still be able to use my guitar pedals?

    Thanks!

    Mike

  • i feel like alice tumbling down the rabbit hole/destination nowhere not sure where to go/all i know is that im far from home/and im all alone/could somebody help me/and could someone please tell me/which way is north and which way is south/cause im having a bit of trouble figuring it out/and im about to lose my mind/does anybody have time/wheres the nearest stop sign cause my mind keeps racing/standing in one spot but my thoughts keep pacing/could you please help me.

  • Badass,Im trying to buy something for a friend that does beats and keys is this doing both?

  • nah thats a sample from "someday we'll all be free" by Donny Hathaway

  • dope as a hundred pounds of weed

  • is setting up the mpd24 with reason hard?

  • no its very simple the only annoying thing is reason costs so much money!

  • This is internet, nothin costs money here

  • nice!!

  • hey mahn help me out for any good advice.........what are the other software i could make beats on for mpd 24....

  • reason, fruity loops, ableton, pro-tools, I imagine that there are even more applications that I am not aware of

  • Very cool stuff bro. Could you tell me please, does it works on Vista 64 bit? I know that it works on 32 bit version. And is there a cd with 64 bit drivers?

  • nice job goed

  • it's beautiful

  • gnice beat man

  • JAZZ && HIPHOP COLLIDE ? SHEESH !!

  • @MNMTelevision check out A Tribe Called Quest hah

  • @MNMTelevision hip hop comes frum jazz

  • @flimter actually hip hop music was originally influenced by disco and funk which could be considered evolved/abstract forms of jazz, but they were their own genres.

  • and also could i do this with garageband to fool around like make the samples? i know noobish but i just want to start out and then move up with out buying a program till i get used to it

  • Im a noob to all this, and i want to buy the mpd 24, my question is whered he get the samples of the song, did he like split it up in a music program and set them?

  • basically download a song and cut up parts of it in a program like adobe audition, fl studio, logic or reason

  • nah man first u gotta find a bunch of records that are being sold for a good price, choose wich ever genre u like wether it be jazz, soul, motown, even rock. listen to them carefully listen to whole songs dont just skip through cuz u could miss something, all it takes is a 3 second break that u might skip that could make a hit. If u got the passion for it keep practicing and always learn. by the way check my beat making videos.

  • He sampled donny hathaway's someday we'll all be free that shit str8 fire

  • thats some nice shit bruh.... check me out !!

i sample with ableton an reason

  • u got skillz man

    u need an mpc

    ditch the mpd!!

  • What's the difference? Sorry, I'm a noob to this...

  • PURE HEAT....feelin this

  • Is that the Isley Brothers?.... " Fall in love" or some shit like that?

  • sweet chilled out beats.. nice

  • Layed back..too nice

  • man you are a genius

  • You're very good man

  • nice track. do you work with emcees?

  • I'm open to it if anyone is interested

  • Could you use something like this live?, basically to trigger samples, without being connected to a pc? (apologies if this seems like a stupid questionm very new to all this)

  • pretty sure you need a computer to use an mpd. but an mpc you can do all by itself

  • nice beat man.

  • Good shit was bangin

  • any chance for an mc ouuta germany to get a beat like that ?

    much respect

  • yes that would be possible

  • Comment removed

  • awesome, salutes from colombia, south america...

  • hey im trying to put samples using my mpd 24 and reason 4 any advice? I have dj equipment too.

  • yeah you are going to need a couple of other programs like audacity (its free) and another Propellerhead program called Recycle. Recycle is the program that you use to create Dr Lex loop files that you can open up with a Dr Rex loop player or any other sampler in Reason.

  • cool man I really apreciate the advice I'll do my homework and get on it. Keep up the nice work, you have real potential!

  • RAD.. Just getting my shit together, finally!! That beat is so on the money.

    Big up yourself!

  • keep up the good work i just got reason 4.0 and a mpd24 and a small keyboard and studio monitor speakers. Im just waiting for my i-mac 24inch computer than i will start downloading reason. Peace talk to u down the road

  • Man where do you get your samples...?

  • beatdiggin man..!just beatdiggin..!

  • I get them from anywhere. I can be listening to the radio or sitting in a restaurant listening to music that might be playing in the background or like the other guy said, just dig

  • That shit is smooth!!

  • do u need a computer?

  • So fucking great !!! I feel Love when i listning this beat.

  • Krazi!! When I make beats I drink choco milk too!

  • Do you have a Myspace? This shit is so good, great work!

  • WEAKKKKKK

  • im done with computer beat making for a while until i get my mpc cuz look at the delay on his midi. IT SUCKS TO HAVE A DELAY. the beat is hot man i like it

  • you can get rid of the delay by downloading an ASIO driver

  • yo fam i got an mpd24 too but i mainly use the mpc because i just cant tap into this software shit but my boy told me i definitely need to get reason. could you give me some pointers my dude thanks. nice beat

    peace

  • check the manual and the cd included with the mpd24! it's kinda difficult but you ll get to it!reason is the program you need to use with the mpd 24.

  • word up i just got the reason 4.0 today

  • the 3 programs that I mainly use to make sample based beats are Audacity (its free and you can download off the internet), Recycle (to chop up the samples and make Dr Rex files that can be loaded into any sampler in Reason), and of course Reason. I use the programs in that order too.

  • yeah man i don't need audacity

i already got adobe audition, i got audacity on my older pc though, but yeah i got reason 4, an mpd24, and i guess i need recycle. but im just starting to tap into this software shit because i use the mpc more than anything, software comes across as difficult to me.

  • This joint is tight. aye how do you set up the mpd 24 to reason?

  • when you open up Reason, you pretty much just open up the preferences and add the MPD 24 as a control surface. You might have to install the drivers for the MPD on your computer before you do that though depending on if you are using a MAC or a PC

  • Thanks much man!!!

  • Can you chop up samples and attach each sample to a keystroke?

  • yes you can, the 2 programs that I use to sample and chop are audacity and recycle

  • is the Akai/Linn MPC a controlle like do you have to plug it into a computer and download programs and kits for it. or is it a drum machine and it already comes with kits and sounds in and it doesnt need to be conncted to a computer??

  • its a midi controller that you can use with a DAW, I use Reason 4.0 these days. Others like to use fruity loops.

  • love the beat i kinda plan on makeing a living doing this how did you get started

  • offt, im heavy in love with this. peace man

  • Respect man..love it !!

  • mpc is a portable workstation, a mpd is basically a midi controller/trigger and a computer is needed.

  • Or a sampler

  • if u payed anything over the american equivalent of £50 then ur a dumb cunt lmao

  • What is the difference between a MPD/MPC and just using your computer keyboard with a virtual midi driver ?

  • less work

  • and "MPD" is just a controller, meaning without it being operated by a computer its useless.

an "MPC" is more fancy, expensive, and overall better. for example, you can load sounds to an MPC and keep them there, on an MPD you have to use the computer to load

  • I really like this beat man!!! This sound is very much your own & thats a good thing in my opinion! Probs the best MPD video about on the net at the moment! 5 stars, fav & sub!!!

  • dope.

  • cool music, cool pad ad cool man!

  • ah, the sound of good music... keep it up...i just ordered my MPD yesterday lol cant wait till it gets here...

  • that was the shizznit. I am having me one of them akai's.

  • thanks for the support

  • im new to this beat-making stuff...would you be as kind as to help a brother out...no-one wants to help nowadays...they only interested in getting "theirs"

  • what do you need help with?

  • I'd be suprised if someone hasnt tried to purchase that beat by now...

  • Beutiful..

  • damn man this beat is raw as hell. man great work.

  • more videos please

  • real real nice

  • This is so,so, Good. Keep it up..It's so funny .everyone talk shit about this beat or that beat or what's fuck up with it. But have them don't have soul ..We Real beatmaker dream, eat, this So be tru. U have to be born with it.

  • too old school

  • Niceeeeee ! Chillin'...

  • Donny Hathaway "Someday we'll all be free" huh? Good Taste Pimpin!!

  • shouldn do that

  • agreed

  • Who cares, honestly.

  • very nice:)

  • SHIT DAWG CLEAN UP YOUR STUDIO!!!! LOL

  • I used the Dr Rex loop player and I chopped up the samples using Recycle

  • which component did you use to load the samples. Dr. Rex? and what program did you use to chop your sample?

  • yo!! fresh sample, nice chopping, but i think you should use other drums. especially the snare/rim doesnt sound very nice i think...but all in all well done!! 5

and sry for my bad english, if it is bad...

  • good stuff

  • in germany we say:

    SCHEISSE, ÜBERLADEN

  • I think in english they say fuck off?

  • A nice peaceful track. Sounds great!

  • kit or samples on that drumtrack?

  • were the drum samples you used off of reason 3.0 then? and is reason a good program to make beats to rap to? sorry i'm just trying to get started on making beats for myself

  • what the fuck?

you need to get off your period and calm down.

the meaning of my question is obvious so stop trying to be a smart-ass with no basis for it. i didn't imply that that reason would make the beats on its own and i didn't say i wanted to record vocals using reason only MAKE beats. which is exactly what my question says, "make" beats. stop trying to lash out at me for no reason because your coming across as an arrogant asshole.

  • dont worry about it dude, reason is pretty good. you just have to learn how to use it. but really, if you want to get equipment to make beats, look into an mpc 1000 or better. if you can find a good used one on ebay it would be alot cheaper than everything you need for the set up xxdjajxx has. peace

  • mugm2 is a wanker.

im sorry i cant answer your question, i dont have reason. i currently use fl studio, which is a good program to get started on, to figure out the fundamentals of beatmaking.

  • you see him making a beat. the title is Making a beat with an Akai MPD24 and "REASON 3.0" You notice how no one responded to you? Because we're sick of noobs with dumb questions. research and read. That's what we had to do. A simple google search and you look up reason and its features. Maybe I was a little rough, but seriously. Should the video poster respond to something you can easily find out yourself with just the smallest of effort? he's probably beatmaking??? Google:Reason 3.0 or 4.0.

  • you should relax. asking questions is part of the process. the guy obviously doesnt know too much about this stuff, and if you google reason, your going to get a bunch of company reps promoting it..you were a noob once, as was i. you should know what its like. it sounds like you dont know shit, and dont do shit but get on youtube and talk like you do. give support instead of bash people why dont you...

  • I am no expert, but I am sure, I can handle myself with the big boys. Again, I said I was maybe a bit rough, but I stand by my disgust of lazy people. Google reason and you get rep promotions? No, the first page you get the company website. Full of videos and testimonials from artists. You obviously don't know shit. STUDY and SELF RELIANCE is essential. You and ChristainCullen can suck a dick. i pose a challenge. Beat video in 1 week, and I will crush you. I'm serious. Got the balls? Big Mouth?
