Great job! That guitar looks & sounds amazing! A few years ago i built a strat-type guitar too except i built and cut the body out of a block of maple. Then I ordered a custom pre-wired pick guard and a cheap Squier Strat from a local music shop for the neck and hardware. It took a while to make but in the end I'd say it sounds pretty unique!
Cool guitar... I was looking for something just like this. I just modded my Strat to a configuration that, IMO, has too many options... this looks great. Thanks
@RockAragosta Hey, thanks for the nice comment. I think it is one of the best mods you can do to a Stratocaster. I have wired about a dozen of my customers Strats with the series-parallel wiring mod. They all say the same thing..they love it,lol.
Fascinating, I have done a mod. somewhat similar on my EuroCaster, reversing the phase on bridge pup and lowering the neck pickup to keep it away from the strings when high fretted. Good upload, regards to USA from UK, Howard.
Thanks for commenting Feet4hands. A blend pot is probably the correct name for it. I called it a mix/contour knob. Acme guitar works who designed the wiring calls it a series knob. It is a very cool mod for a Strat. It is also one of the more simple ones to do. You actually only use one side if the 5 way switch. Acme has a few wiring diagrams/mods on their site. Check them out!!
@astroboy058 i like it, i'm planning to have this kind of wiring on my strat soon. i'm wonderin' if you can make it a 2 way toggle switch instead of a tone knob on the series parallel configuration? ==1 volume, 1 tone, 5 ways switch and a series parallel toggle switch? i like this idea because i always wanted a fatter sound and it kinda give a boost when switching the toggle... thanks and looking forward
@dpsd I don't know if you can do that with this mod. Plus you would lose the mix/contour knob which allows you to blend a little or all which is the purpose of this mod. This mod is new to me too. There are other mods out there to give you the boost you are looking for.

so is this mod activating both the middle and neck pickups no matter what pickup is selected on the 5-way switch?

@sonicspeedctr what pick ups being used depends on the postion of the 5 way switch.
