Incredibly this is one of the best songs of Sonic Syndicate.
It was off the album We Rule The Night, but the band kind of lost its way with the departure of Richard Sjunnesson and Roland Johansson, and entry of Nathan James Biggs.
Proof of this is the deception that this latest album is, losing all identity, a band that was once the Melodic Death Metal, until a little lighter than normal, but at least it was now become a metalcore mixed with Pop .. Sad!
mainstream or not, SS old and new I found to be amazing, cuz this band branched me into so many new genres and new bands. Now we have THe Unguided which is just like the old SS.so relax people, music changes from the members of the band or the company producing their records, its how the world works.
My own Opinion about "We Rule the Night" is, that are the only good songs are "Burn this City" and "Break of Day". All the other songs are rubbish. You can hear it, but that's not more Sonic Syndicate.
I have all albums from SS and I hope, the next album will be better with another singer and another style, not so Mainstream :/

@nescary it wasnt a "gradual change" over 3 albums when 2 weren't even much different. and bands do change, SS changed noticeably from EF to OI, but people still loved them. but the second time they changed it was not only bad but they were forced to do so (at least rich and roger were...)

I love Meshuggah, and select bands here and there like Tesseract and Om Mani and Gojira. That does not mean I like other bands that sound very similar, tho. I like those bands because of the way they play the type of music. So, it's not that I like the band for their name, it's more that I like how the band gets their shit done.

(I have it myself, both it in a combo with LaoD (The Rebellion Pack)), which are 'Burn This City', 'Rebellion In Nightmareland', And 'Burn This City (Radio Edit)'. It's been a while, more than a year when it was released, so I dont know if they still sell it. (I think they do ofcourse but I'm not sure) Try the NuclearBlast store or something else.
Read Richard's blog where the truth lies. Richard isn't on a break from Sonic Syndicate, he LEFT the band permanently, and everything is explained in his new blog. Nuclear Blast is a fucked up company.
Just a few more days, just wait. Richard, one of the only person in Sonic Syndicate with any morals and talent will be free from the bands bullshit and free from Nuclear Blast's bullshit.
Ignoring the musical direction of SS, my only problem w/ Nathan is that his cleans just don't fit in w/ the music. Roland's cleans are more like an instrument adding to the melody and w/o that, SS just isn't the same. This song is Ok though and I do think that Nathan's screams can sound good, even though they are a bit different.

Ignoring the musical direction of SS, my only problem w/ Nathan is that his cleans just don't fit in w/ the music. Roland's cleans are more like an instrument adding to the melody and w/o that, SS just isn't the same. This song is Ok though and I do think that Nathan's screams can sound good, even though they are a bit different.

THIS was Sonic Syndicate's last song, don't be fooled by the band name on the rest of the songs on the "We Rule The Night" album Sonic Syndicate has sold out and the music is dead
This band was great in its day, with Roland, but Nathan has killed the band
Sonic Syndicate is one of my all time favorite bands

If anyone is to blame (If there is anything to be blamed for) it's Richard. He does the majority of the song writing. Personally I love old Sonic and new Sonic.
What gets me is that the fans who don't like the new stuff can't see that Nathan is actually a better vocalist than Roland and even try to find ways to scapegoat him.

Roland is a good singer but the simple fact is that Nathan is technically better and more diverse. It's sad that you and many others can't see past the idea that your precious Roland has left.
