@klyde122 it does come with a stock IM app. But I highly recommend downloading Fring or Meebo on the phone. AIM also has an official app, but it is a complete battery killer.

@klyde122 I get decent battery life and I am a pretty heavy user. I get roughly 16 - 23 hours. Though it is a wise choice to have a car charger just in case. Also, if you can wait to get the HTC EVO, I would do that. Not sure on pricing though. I just know the EVO should be coming out rather soon.

i just bought this phone, and i wanted to add the "facebook widget" but when i go into my widgets thats not an option...how can i get it?

@OoOkeleOoO Sadly the HTC's integration with facebook is limited. If you want to get the widget you will need to go to the marketplace and search for facebook. They have an official app, after you install it, you will have access to the widget. I don't know why HTC didn't build this into their Sense UI.

When you hold your finger still when, for example, placing a shortcut on the homescreen does it jitter? Becuase when I hold my finger still the apps always jitter very much so I don't know if it is my device only or just a fault of the Hero.

That is actually googles own app called ScoreBoard. It isn't half bad. I actaully stopped using it just because baseball season is over and I don't follow any other sports.

Yes it is free on the android platform. Pretty much any thing google will be free. I have yet to find a paid google app. Listen is also a great google app for podcasts if you listen to podcasts at any time.
