all current console graphics are dated, we had graphics this good back when 360 came out back in 2005. thats a long time to not make xbox's successor. the first xbox was only out for 4 years before 360 and that was way to long. we should have had the next "next gen" consoles last year

@MegaShot419 have you played alan wake? how can you tell if the graphics are good from videos? most of the time there either really low res videos so you cant tell detail, or there pre rendered, its hard to "name a better looking game" because A.its not out yet, and B.all xbox games look pritty dated, xbox is incapable of producing what most people would call "good" graphics, xbox is fine if your playing on a 720p and below, but at 1080 all xbox does is upscales to that res streching the image

I'd go as far to say that it's one of the best looking console games of this generation. No game matches it's environments and lighting.

Loved her looks, loved her accent and the overall review. Only minor complain is the graphics comment. Alan Wake looks okay, it's not Uncharted 2, but it looks okay. At least it's not Samurai Showdown Sen. I'll probably play this game. :]

Btw, I dunno what tv are you guys using, but on my Samsung Uncharted 2 looks AMAZING, with excellent resolution, and God of War III as well. Also the characters in this game looks WAY sub par to Uncharted II or Heavy Rain, or ANY modern game. Even GTA IV looks better, which is outdated as well. But the graphics aside the game is awesome (just like she said) and that's the most important thing, lol.

To tell you the truth this game does lack hi-res textures but what game doesn't. Uncharted 2 had god ugly textures, so did Mgs4 which was sub-hd and god of war 3.

They had to implements art style and tricks to make the game look good. Think of killzone 2 which had a lot of filters to make the cut of a lacking GPU.

For example look at Silent Hill 2 (an old PS2 game btw) if they have "facelifted" (with higher res textures in it), it would be at the same level, as Alan Wake. The CGI videos are even a bit better in SH2. Look at the face characters in both games. Both games are pretty cool tho. :)

But yes, God of War 3 is just God of War 2.5 HD basically imo.

@Capulett25 The bad thing about starting the development of a game 5 years ago is that the development takes its initial infrastructure build in the early phase, which in this game was 2005, and unfortunately they built the core with 2005 tech, and as the years passed, they certainly improved it and polished it for the mid 2010 release, but could never scrap that 2005 infrastructure. The games that are in such a long period of development are actually harmed more then benefited.
