Just for the fun... I tried to play this like you do here, it has been ages since I tried to play Planxty Irwin ! Playing like you do was a total but hilarious desaster!! When I listen to your play, it makes my guitar playing sounds like a kid playing twinkle twinkle little star compared to it. That is why playing on the streets and in undergrounds was cool, most people do not necessarily stop to listen , haha. No, I'm joking,
This tune is not technically difficult, but must be played in the right way!<---- Well, obviously ! :) My memory fails on how I used to play it.."you must feel what there is behind it" he says. I DID feel what was behind it alright!! My fingers are hurting and so is my ego,HA! :) I think I will leave it to the "pro" ( that would be you) until further notice! By the way, was that you who explained the meaning of the word "planxty"? , I did not know that, no one could tell me what it meant!
Oh, there is no need to apologise, Luca! I was just teasing you about your comment, if it came accross differently than I intended, it was not meant that way. It always makes me laugh when someone tells me, " that piece of music is easy to play" because that normally means I will struggle with it, he he. Don't worry about my hurt ego , that was a (bad) joke. :) The fingertips hurt, but that means that I don't practice enough.Only one remedy for that!
That's it! You did it! I will definitely subscribe ! Irish instrumentals and celtic music definitely are my favorites, let me tell you that this was THE nicest rendition of this beautiful piece of music I ever heard from someone NOT irish . I have been roaming through several of your postings and I am very much impressed! Chapeau, as the French say! :)
As usual I am amazed at the complexity of your music and the expert way you deliver it. Note perfect every time. This piece is no exception. Beautiful. 5 stars.
It was a good idea to sign up for your videos as otherwise I would have missed your new clip. Very nice, really, and just what I needed on a gloomy day. I look forward to your next piece.
nice to meet you!... Thank you very much for your kind words. for this O'Carolan's piece I play on my old Darco Guitar (of the 1984): I don't use any pick-up or amplification and this is just his acoustic sound...
Amazing guitarplay. O'Carolan is one of the really special, and really worth playing. And as I have said before, you are a real master with your guitar.
Wow, I really like your playing and sound. Your playing is very smooth and relaxed - wish I could play like that. I checked your other videos and enjoyed them all. Thank you for listening to mine.
