  • Just for the fun... I tried to play this like you do here, it has been ages since I tried to play Planxty Irwin ! Playing like you do was a total but hilarious desaster!! When I listen to your play, it makes my guitar playing sounds like a kid playing twinkle twinkle little star compared to it. That is why playing on the streets and in undergrounds was cool, most people do not necessarily stop to listen , haha. No, I'm joking,

  • Hi Nathalie,

    many thanks again!...

This tune is not technically difficult, but must be played in the right way!...you must feel what there is behind it!...

All the best to you, my dear "guitarist underground"... ahaha!...

    lol,

    luca

  • This tune is not technically difficult, but must be played in the right way!<---- Well, obviously ! :) My memory fails on how I used to play it.."you must feel what there is behind it" he says. I DID feel what was behind it alright!! My fingers are hurting and so is my ego,HA! :) I think I will leave it to the "pro" ( that would be you) until further notice! By the way, was that you who explained the meaning of the word "planxty"? , I did not know that, no one could tell me what it meant!

  • Sorry Nathalie,

I did not want to be consider, but simply say that these Irish music tunes inspire feelings of those who sounds and who listen them...

    Best regards,

    luca

  • Oh, there is no need to apologise, Luca! I was just teasing you about your comment, if it came accross differently than I intended, it was not meant that way. It always makes me laugh when someone tells me, " that piece of music is easy to play" because that normally means I will struggle with it, he he. Don't worry about my hurt ego , that was a (bad) joke. :) The fingertips hurt, but that means that I don't practice enough.Only one remedy for that!

  • That's it! You did it! I will definitely subscribe ! Irish instrumentals and celtic music definitely are my favorites, let me tell you that this was THE nicest rendition of this beautiful piece of music I ever heard from someone NOT irish . I have been roaming through several of your postings and I am very much impressed! Chapeau, as the French say! :)

  • Thank you very much for your kind and friendly comment!... I'm realyy pleased for it!...

    My best wishes,

    luca

  • Hi Richard,

nice to meet you!... Thank you very much for your kind words. for this O'Carolan's piece I play on my old Darco Guitar (of the 1984): I don't use any pick-up or amplification and this is just his acoustic sound...

    All the best to you,

    luca

  • Ciao Antonella,

    luca
