Last, if the president won't ditch the unconstitutional bills seen so far & "start over" on health care, Eric & every elected official that has taken the oath to:
"support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic"
must oppose it, & every similar bill.
At least until a bill is crafted that begins to walk our laws back towards the Constitution.
Perhaps it's best to pass a reasonable bill that will sunset, after a reasonable period of years...?
Agreed. However, how we do so must be within lawful authority.
Our Constitution specifically recognizes we are free, with God given Rights, & that no Rights are, or can be, granted by govt.
We are free to make our own choices, collectively if we choose a govt solution to "health care", we must do so at the level of govt that has that legal authority. The State & local govts.
Then, Congress has authority to regulate, if across state lines.
ah you did know it got voted through dem party right that's why it is possible now to pass the senate bill with no changes lol
also the top 4 things house minority leader says it need is in the bill and I hope to god Obama passes it and lists them over and over the ideas republicans added 1 over state lines is in the bill another is small business easier cheaper coverage is in the bill! the VOTE NO not country first repubs sitting on there butt obstructionists is all they are it makes me sick.
Saw your page. Looks like you're a walking talking encyclopedia of Daily Kos insanity.
IF you, Obama, & even Eric (& others within the GOP to a lesser degree), would man up & recognize that the Founders fixed their own mistakes of their 1788 Constitution, with the Bill of Rights in 1791.
With that, they established true Federalism, by reining in the enumerated powers of the "Supremacy Clause", "Necessary & Proper Clause", "Commerce Clause" & other abusive language.
@justtex1975 To tell you the truth, I just want to see the problems fixed. I could really give a shit how they do it. I'm not an ideologue. The constitution is not static, things will change. Some good some bad, that's just life. The important thing is how we address the problems of the future, not what we did in 1791. If Republicans were serious about fixing health care, I'd support them.
@justtex1975 The problem is they are not. The Republicans are playing some bullshit political game. Health care needs to be fixed. Eric Cantor is a shill and does not care at all about the American people. I'm not saying Democrats are angels, I don't like them either. To tell you the truth Obama is the first Democrat I have ever voted for. After the crap the Republican Party has pulled these past few years I'll never trust Republicans again.
@justtex1975 I'm not looking for a debate I just want our politicians to act like a adults and do their jobs. It is clear as day that the Republican Party made the calculation that any Obama loss is a Republican win and that's bullshit.
Agreed. the "job" of the congress is, 1st to follow & protect the Constitution. 2nd, to protect & serve the people.
Providing they meet those tests wholly, after that, they are free & have the authority to be creative with their methods.
Anything outside of those Constitutional constraints is unlawful.
Starting now, congress must begin to walk our laws back towards constitutionality, before we all go over the cliff into the abyss of lawlessness & failure.

Eric, Obama will use every trick of stagecraft @ the televised B/H meeting.
He'll filibuster to indoctro-cate the public, in an attempt to revive this, then all of his radical agenda.
He'll set traps, attempting to make you & other GOP members look bad.
Then, use out of context video segments during the upcoming congressional campaigns.
If Obama controls all of this dog & pony show, from agenda, content, seating, & even the audio/video setup, call him out for it, then, just don't go.

@justtex1975 GOP reasons not to come:
(1) Obama will put socialist Kool-Aid in the water.
(2) Democrats will experiment on them with death panel rays.
(3) Too many have gigs on Fox News that day to come.
(4) OK, will come only if Obama brings his birth certificate.
(5) Obama must agree to extend Bush tax cuts on millionaires and dead rich people before they will come.
(6) Obviously just a sinister ploy to confiscate guns.

Then, the courts began to usurp the powers of the People, the States, & of the Constitution.
FDR's court meddles took that abuse of power to new lows, leaving us all in the mess we deal with daily, today.
With all that so, we must have John Shadegg's Enumerated Powers Act passed into law, soon.
That should help to clean up & clear up the many legislative & court imposed abuses of power.
lmcdowall, I challenge you to study the Constitution, history & law, then, we can have a proper debate.

@lmcdowall: "constitution is not static"
No, it's not. The Founders gave us ways to amend it. But, outside of that, the principles of the Constitution are indeed "static".
lmcdowall: "how we address the problems"
The ONLY legal way to do so, is within the limits of valid law.
lmcdowall: "not what we did in 1791"
Nonsense. The Constitution is the Highest Law of the Land.
We either must all agree to embrace the Law of the Land, or, we embrace lawlessness. There is no gray area or in-between
