You would think so, but the low conduction actually promotes small particle size. Which is good. Never add anything for conduction, unless you are trying to make hydrogen and oxygen, which is a topic for another video. lol

Do not use well water. It has minerals, organic material, and possible salts that will interfere with the process and might create dangerous compounds. Make sure you only use distilled water.

Perfectly normal for the anode to turn dark. Small bubbles usually form within a few minutes.

The black concerns me. It could be contamination in your water.

Try to find water for drinking, not for batteri.

I use 9 Volts to make 1 liter.

Black drops sound like a burning a small amount of the silver and maybe another chemical or mineral in the water is burning like burnt automotive oil / maybe connected to tarnish old or recreated with the high voltage.

1. Why don't u use a conductor like saline or rock salt?

2. U only use 1 9v instead or 3 or 4. why?

3. By connecting straws don't u contaminated the silver w/plastic?

1. If you use salt you will *not* create colloidal silver. You will create a poisonous solution. Also, do not use tap water.

2. Smaller particle size.

3. The plastic is inert, electrically. It prevents draining the battery with a short.

You can omit the plastic if a concern.

Hmm I'm using four 9volt batteries for a 16 ounce glass cup of distilled water and noticed that in 20 minutes, larger particles of silver will deposit to the bottom of the cup.

Lower the voltage, you are getting to much current flow. Try just one 9V. If you still get deposits, lessen the run time. 4:31

Yes, that is normal. The (+) turns black, the (-) turns (clean silver color). You can switch them, and the black one will turn white again.

I bought what was guaranteed as 'pure silver' replacement rods for a CS kit and I'm making my first batch of colloidal silver now.

So far, I've made 2 lots and tipped them away because they're misty white - is that normal for new rods? I've noticed that one of the rods is turning a brown colour now. I'm assuming thats what will give the CS the brownish tinge if it turns darker?

Yes. The color is related to the size of the CS. It will turn yellow, eventually to red, and if you let it run and run for weeks it will turn black. Best Regards ~Mike

It says it is pure, but often stranded wire has coatings. Like tin, or cadmium.

If you MUST use this run several batches and discard water and container until (+) electrode is grey/black ONLY.

it's actually taking particles of silver away from it... as long as the wire is still there, you can keep doing it... if you did it long enough, it would be completely gone (just like metal plating)

Just from the experience of making it too dense and later finding silver in the bottom. Once you see the laser you are good. Also did a lot of reading (urgh, I didn't bookmark) about colloid density and effectiveness.

I've messed with different voltages, and while higher works faster, I think it spalls the anode and produces larger silver particles. Current limit at higher voltages. One of these days I'm going to buy a good microscope and get to the bottom of this.

1 liter takes 30-45 mins.

From my experimenting The Anode (+) will turn a color other than black/grey if there is contamination present. (like yellow)

If you are concerned about purity, discard your first batch of colloidal silver, this should purify your 999 anode.

Also you can find PPM meters or TDS meters on ebay for as little as $17.00 USD Delivered, That where I got mine. I also suggest using Silver Rounds or square Ingots that are assayed at .999 pure silver. Cut one in half and it could just last for the rest of your life! Hi, Well Done Video! I personally have drank 16 oz. a day for 30 days straight of much higher concentrations around 20 - 70 PPM which is yellow in color, I'm still white as a sheet! Great video, simple and accurate. I've been making it like that for months now, long before watching this video. The only difference is I purchased a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter for $65.00. A hand held water quality tester that tells me the ppm of my silver colloid. Distilled water measures 000 so when it gets between 5-10 its ready to drink. I've never been healthier and there's no sign of turning blue either.

Hey, do your research. troops years ago use to put silver down in milk and water to keep it from spoiling. They used silver on the field with injuries to keep down infection. When person has a 3rd degree burn, silvadine cream (silver in it) is used to bath the burn for the bandage, and it keeps these terrible burns from turning into infection. Do your homework, check it out.

30 mins is a good time to start. I ran this for 45 minutes, and it turned slightly yellow, an indication it ran too long. May take a bit of trial and error. Time varies widely depending on water source.

HI Mike, I have a kit to test water. I have tested the distilled water from walmart and other places that had solid particles in them. I would recommend that you distill your own. If you don't have a distiller you can always do it w/ a bowl, cup, saran wrap and a rock and the sun. Be well!
