@hbomb619 Its actually REALLY unhealthy for a dachshund to be over weight like this, he's big because he does love his food but he is also retaining water from a common congenital disease with Dachshunds. As long as your dog isn't under weight and has had regular worming they should be fine.
If you're concerned with their weight book them in for a vet checkup.

i have a black and brown mini dachshund. how do you make them gain weight? i tried feeding them the best dog food in the stores but still no results.
