There are different branches of Mennonites. Still a few old order mennonites , at least in Idaho. Mennonite Brethern are a different church. Old orders don't have the internet but are still much more liberal than the Amish. And they DO have farms.
So freakin dumb!! I know a lot of Mennonites and I found this video mildly offensive and also pretty disturbing while I was watching it. But in retrospect, it was kinda funny. PS: not all Mennonites have farms and they definitely don't live in barns....those robots were scary.
I wouldn't take this too seriously. It's all tongue in cheek. It's supposed to be silly,. First off they played off of how a Mennonite sounds like some sort of robot. Which is silly. And the idea of Mennonites being a robotic force of evil trying to create a puritan totalitarian reign over our daily lives is ridiculous. And whoever made this video knew it. They're just messing with you.
I don't think there's any need to take this seriously, since it is pretty much pointless. It makes about as much sense as the joke I heard that Mennonites get into violent lightsaber battles. I know a family of Mennonites in south-central PA and they're great people. When watching these videos, just remember, illigitimum non carborundum.
Nope, we are not the opposite of amish, We did in fact start as a same group we are both anabaptist (baptize on confession of faith as adults) But when we were being pursecuted by the State Church of the time (1700's) the Amish descided to cut all ties and have nothing to do with the "State" and formed their own colonies, while the Mennonites tried to get along with the people of the day but still in a non-violent way.
This is so Mennonite! It is better than Hymn 606 and should be anthem of the convention in Pittsburgh!

Nothing to do with Mennonites. Shows no knowledge of Anabaptism whatsoever.

This video is retarded. I'm a Mennonite and they've got the stereotypes all wrong. We aren't Amish. Why do people not understand that?
