  • I get why you stand up for each other lol cause within 50 years your whole industry will be extinct! Just to be very clear, I don't give a fuck what you think. However I will refrain from writing anymore on Evans wall out of respect for him. I didnt realize this was a song about the pro oil movement. It sounded like a song about a guy who was proud of his dad. I guess you all assume if his old man was a fisherman, he would be less proud.

  • First off learn to read! Did I say or imply oil workers don't work hard? NO! Did I beat down his song? NO! What the fuck's your point you ignorant fucks. i said the song was good. I never said a damn bad thing about him, his family or his dad! Sure so he's a great human being , I never said otherwise. It sucks that these people have to put there lives at risk and leave their family behind when they go to work! Thats the fukin point! None of that makes fossil fuels a smart idea or a good thing

  • Evan this song is amazing ... Late nights when I'm really missing my husband all I have to do is listen to this and know my husband does what he does bc he loves us :) johnny u should really grow the hell up !! Pretty sure this man has a lot of people supporting him :) proud to be an oil field wife

  • As an oilfield wife and the mom of three oilfield boys, we are all very proud of their oilfield DAD! Evan, that is an awesome anthem for the oilfield husbands, fathers and brothers out there. I for one am so very proud of you. As for the tree hugger, wanna be whatever.......grow up, get a life and get educated. I live on the Gulf Coast, have an Oilfield husband, and I AM AN OILFIELD WIFE AND DAMN PROUD OF IT. OWA's always, one child is all our children. WE SPEAK AS ONE VOICE--------OWA

  • Evan, keep it up! My husband works offshore and LOVED this song!!!!! @johnys420 try walking everywhere for the rest of your life. Maybe then you will appreciate how hard my husband and thousands of other men work!

  • Evan, keep up the good work. @Johnny420.. Fuck you, bro. Sincerely, a gulf coast oilfield wife.

  • If you think for one minute that your negativity will somehow knock him down well you are sadly mistaken! Get a life,so you can stop knocking others!

OWA PROUD!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVAN! YOU MNAKE US ALL SO PORUD!!!

  • @Johnys.If this is not your thing than how about you keep your bitchy little ignorant comments to yourself! Get the facts buddy before you come into our house causing trouble,& making too much noise, raving on about things you obviously know nothing about! You have most defiantly barked up the wrong tree or in this case derrick! Evan is the son of MANY oilfield mommas, & we will back him, & protect him NO MATTER WHAT!

  • @johnys420 Next time you have an ignorant thought come into your naive brain....keep it to yourself! If it wasn't for men like Evan's dad or my husband and 1000's of other hardworking men and women, you would have NONE of the luxuries we think are everyday necessities! Why don't you take your sweet cheeks and spend a day in the patch and educate yourself on what really goes on out there!?!?!? And for the record...I live on the Gulf of Mexico!

  • @johnys420 words cannot express my frustration for you lack of knowledge! Get a Life! Grow up and I know His father! He is a great guy and provides well for his family! They want for nothing and it comes from a lot of long hard hours away from his family that he loves very much! So he doesn't really need a new job..It sounds like the most effort you have ever put forth is to scratch your ass! Go buy a F@$%ing clue!

  • This song is fantastic Evan! Remember, the greatest singer/song writers have the most haters!

  • @johnys420: Do you drive a car? Ride a bike? Live in a house? Just wondering. This may be a shock, but you probably use more petroleum by-products than you realize. My guess is you'd be pretty bummed to be without all of your modern day comforts. Perhaps I am making assumptions, but I figure you used a computer or a SmartPhone to post this comment. Unless you eat a raw diet, the food you consume is cooked with oil and natural gas. The list goes on and on and on.

  • @James Smith if you dont have anything nice to say don't say anything at all please. Great job and song, Evan!

  • @johnys...you are a total douche! Try getting a job before posting something like that about Evan's song. He did this for the love of his Dad and the other oilfield workers that risk their lives to give you gas to put in your car! Oh, and the computer or phone that you made your comment about this song is made from petroleum products. So if you don't like what the oilfield does I'd like to see you go without the products that is made from them!

  • From the patch in SE Sask buddy!

  • From the patch in SE Sask buddy!

  • @johnys420 shut up u idiot. Oilfield workers work harder in a week then u ever will. I can tell by your name that you are a dope smokin lazy piece of shit who's probably never had a job. Good song Evan, like to see the oilfield man represented.

  • Very good buddy! Like to hear a studio version for all the boys up in the patch here in Alberta.

  • Decent song Evan, not my thing but good work!. Maybe next time I speak to someone who lives along the kalamazoo river, or lives in the gulf of Mexico or maybe the people who live downstream from the tar sands and are dying of cancers, I will ask them how much sympathy they have for the poor hardworking oilmen. Maybe you can write a song for them 2. Call it "lakes of toxic sludge", or maybe "Who need clean water anyway" Hope your dad finds a new job, soon!

  • @johnys420 you know its oilfield hands that keep this country running! its fine to be a tree hugger but have a little respect! what exactly is your job??? i mean really oilfield workers work harder then most! JUST TO KEEP THIS COUNTRY RUNNING!!! think about that the next time your make stupid ass comments like the one above!

  • My husband works 21/21 and I can't wait till he comes home so I can show this to him. I miss him so much, and hate he has to miss so much. Thanks

  • I'm in deep water working 14/14. GREAT song!!!!

  • F@#K FIGHT AND TRIP PIPE!!!!!

  • Evan don't listen to the haters. The damn guitar sounds good! And the lyrics! And the song. He's just mad for one cuz he can't play a guitar(or sing)nearly as good as you and two, no drilling company will hire his lazy ass. In the oilfield we call guys like him "worms." You should write a song about them.

  • @MikeTheRoughneck nailed it. it'd be awesome if he wrote a song about me. i'd be more than flattered. i'd be most flattered if the guitar was in tune. zing!

  • @1evansmith this is my new favorite song!! my daddy works in malasia 28 and 28. its very scary and i HATE him being gone!! hes missed tons of birthdays and holidays liike it says in the song but i understand now that im older that what he does keeps a roof over my head! My daddy is my hero and he always will be. iv had countless night mares about plane crashes. 45 min after he left japan that earthquake hit...but God kept him safe!:) Thankyou for writting this!:)

  • That was amazing! I think his guitar is just fine!

  • @jamessmith606 if it bothers you that bad you do not have to listen to it. This song obviously was not written for you. I will always write. Especially for the working class.

  • Great song man!

  • great job young man!!

  • You work no matter what the weathers like, yeah im proud to be.. An oilfielddd man.

  • @jamessmith606 My guitar was not out of tune. I had it tuned down a full step. To everyone else out there I appreciate your positive feed back. Will be finishing my cd this weekend. Have a great week and God bless.

  • @1evansmith Even more reason for your guitar to be out of tune. It's set up to hold its tune in E standard. It might have been in tune when you did your first take, but by this point it is obviously out of tune. Perhaps you just can't hear it, but it bothered me the entire time. At any rate, keep writing your songs. Proles need music too.

  • You rock! This is the best!!!!! Please give me permission to use this on our website!!!! Please message me. I am a founder of rigwives.org........your one of our boys!!!!

  • Hey Man ,I really injoyed that, your pretty good. Take care out there I have family out there too .I can relate to the song it really touched home. Thanks to all the offshore men who wrote this true song. My prayer s will be with all ya'll..

  • Just wanna say thank you for all the positive feed back! Check me out on facebook. More songs coming soon.

  • tune your guitar.

  • @jamessmith606 TUNE YOUR EARS! WTF Really? A young man sings a song that honors thousands of men that put their lives on the line every time they go to work and you are so shallow that all you can say is tune your guitar. I don't know if it insults the artist, but I sure as hell know it insults the other 15,776 that have viewed and loved it.. you probably don't even have a job! Oilfield men and women speak their mind and stand up for each other!

  • @oilfieldwife101 an artist would be bothered that his guitar is out of tune.

  • @jamessmith606 Tune your attitude!

  • Great song, great job. My husband works 14 on/14off. Look up another fellow oilfield worker that has a CD out now. Frank Foster, Rowdy Reputation. I can see you singing your songs in the future too. Good luck to you and God bless!!
