where is the legend for the traffic data, what does it all mean ?

red=traffic very slow or standstill

yellow=medium slow traffic

green=little or no traffic

Does anyone know how google calculates ETA? Is it based on the traffic or the speed limit? Also, when selecting your route, does it pick the fastest or shortest route and if traffic is a factor in it?
