I'm sorry--"Hey Jude" just isn't quite "Hey Jude" unless it's sung by The Beatles, "Viva Las vegas" isn't quite as catchy without the song coming from Elvis' vocal chords, and "Ol' Man River" isn't quite as powerful if it isn't Paul Robeson himself singing the song...
Some pople just are so powerful they OWN a role or a song, and this is such a case.
Great rendition here...but it just can't match Robeson, somehow he and his version IS the River.
@obiwanobiwan13 sorry bro wilson pickett has the definitive version of Hey Jude. And Screaming JAy has the best version of old man river. As far as " viva las vegas " i'm not familiar with that song
Ken says thanks to all who are listening to him on youtube and all who have gone to see him in person. He is very devoted to keeping Paul Robeson's music alive.
We are so lucky to have Ken sing with the Penn Yan Community Chorus. He puts his heart and soul into his singing. And he has a wonderful deep powerful voice.
A Joy to hear you, Ken...what a warm & powerful voice is yours. Your voice is a wise & great voice singing what can only be done by a wise & great man......Thank you, Ken.
Thank you for posting this. I think he may be as good as Robeson.
His voice is eminently suited to this role.

Nice voice, and he sings it well, but...

@obiwanobiwan13 The song was first performed in the original stage production of Show Boat on December 27, 1927 by Jules Bledsoe.

Eine fantastische Stimme, die nur von einem Mann dieser Abstammung hervorgebracht werden kann. Bewundernswert.
