The future will be great. Charging units installed at charging stations can provide electricity for automobiles, motorcycles or bicycles that do not have an on-board generator. Other vehicles can run on alternative fuel sources such as hydrogen and natural gas. The future may even see a carbon capture gasoline automobile.
i agree with everyone charging stations are ugly a nice concept but not practical now their is a new company called witricity that has wireless electricity if some how they can get a floor mat and charge the car with just parking it that would be even better
@3089280288 idk if thats what its called but the iphone has a little charger that you just laydown the phone an dit gets charged can you imaging if you can park and charge awesome
I am against the placing of single charging units for electric vehicles everywhere on our streets and highways. Single charging units placed all over the place with wires hangin' around will look hideous. It is an eye sore. Design them well and place them together at "stations".
electric is here but who going to buy them every one might go for gas instead of electric cars and with electric cars you need to have electrician to install it too the house and also apartments and they are very expensive too have electrician to install the special outlets for electric cars charger
@Violatorman New York City just got 100 of these EV Charging Stations, and the Mayor Michael Bloomberg sad more on the way. The City only pay $37million dollar, and $15 million by the U.S. Department of Energy to Coulomb Technologies. This is need it competition to the oil company.
Charging time from a completely flat battery in a plug-in Prius is about 4.5 hours. The battery provides about 30 miles of all-electric city driving.
The plug is locked into the station. Only the driver can unlock it. If the charging station detects any problem such as the plug being disconnected from the car, it shuts off the power and immediately alerts the driver via a text message. It will also let the driver know when the car is fully charged.
Do not rush installing charging units !! I think we can build an electric car that charges itself while you drive. There is a patent.

This technology is good but how long would it take to charge a car from a flat battery?
What if someone came and took off the plug or even cut the cable?

Its a good idea but still if someone takes off the plug u will still have to go there and reconnect it.
This is the hassle with electric cars.
I am waiting for the quick charge electric cars, I read it somewhere and it said that you can fully charge a battery from flat in around 5-10 mins.
