Wonderful song!!!!! i agree about the goosebumps part i too get it whenever i listen.
At my native village in karnataka they used to play this song very early in the morning with other songs like Vitthal Awadi - Suresh Wadkar, trust me you feel like heaven... i mean literally.
the temple used to play "Uthi Uthi Gopala" Song. On that little lonely stretch the temple looks very assuring.
At 5.30 in morning when it is quite dark and cold, the whole Gulmohor Rd was surrounded with this "Khada " avaj of Kumarji. ( Ya, the temple used to play it at high volume, and, thankfully, there were no restrictions on the loudspeaker like 6AM or / DB level).
IT IS the real divine feeling to hear this song in such surrounding. The memory is still Fresh and Alive.
Again I could not resist to listen to this divine song. It made me nostalgic.
I remember the time, when I fell in love .... of this song. Being a teenager at that time, used to go for jogging on Gulmohor Road, Savedi in Ahmednagar. On the stretch of 1.5 KM of Gulmohor Road, there was a ( is ) small Datta Temple, a little away from Gulmohor main road and in remote place. No houses around the temple ( that time ) covered with small tree plantation.
Very few singers can match the quality of Kumar Gandharva. He is one of my all time favorites natyasangeet singer along with Dinanath Mangeshkar and Vasanthrao Deshpande.
Absolutely wonderful bhajan. I cannot recall a single day that this bhajan was not played in our house while I was a kid. My dad would not leave the house till this and the Amar Bhupali song was played on the radio .... though he could not speak or understand Marathi well. Truly an illustration of the fact that music knows no boundaries.
such an awesome bhupali... brings back the childhood memories of how these songs used to be played during Diwali by my parents.. hurts that the traditions have been lost somewhere on the way..
100% agree to you !!! really brings back the childhood memories , even at my place these songs used to be played during Narakchaturthi morning of Diwali.... thanx who ever has posted this video ... Kumar ji is my most favourite...
Classic! Your posting of this song is incredible. I was searching for this song here in US.YouTube is a miracle for me. Dhanyawad to you for this posting.
i had all these songs on a audio cassette gifted to me by my father but i had forgotten it in India and i was missing hell like it over here in US... Thanx a tonnes for posting this song on You Tube... God Bless!!!
are there any words which can describe the gloires of this song - the music, the words and the voice of Sri Kumar Gandharva? And also beautiful picture of innocent dear Gopal?
This song/bhajan is from Marathi Drama - Dev Deenaghari Dhavala by Sri Baal Kolhatkar.
pls iska hindi rupantar kar dijiye mujhe samajhana hai.......... bahut meetha bhajan hai

Bhakti Geet is extremely nice.
It is so nice to listen to, in the back ground, early morning before at the sun rise.
But, in this upload, the video is too distracting that one loses sense of sight & audibles.
