  • We were different. (I was 7 ) Note that there was no obesity. Great flashback!

  • @LittleJimmySouthern what did you feel that day or you just didnt notice?

  • @carlosmercadoabarca Well, I was just a kid.And tho I had been following the war in the New York Journal American,I really couldn't understand the immensity of the occasion. To me it was like watching Doc Blanchard leading the Army Football team to a victory. We won! And Mom and Dad were happy! Dad by the way was in the Army. He spent 38 years in the army from the cavalry in 1916 until after the Korean war in 1954. I went in the USAF in 1956. The Military was, after all, the family business.

  • @LittleJimmySouthern wooow sir you really have a tradition in your family, anyway having a memory of the reaction of the people in that great event in the history of mankind must be priceless, and then beeing in the air force at the cold war, I suppose your sons and grandsons are in the army too. thanks for share a bit of your story sir

  • That's Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon on the Background..

  • Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this! I've seen photographs but never got to see genuine newsreel footage, it brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could have experienced that moment just once. I'd say more, but Velocity253 pretty much hit the nail on the head regarding what else I was going to say... ;)

  • wow what a difference in todays society compared to back then....much happier and nicer society who never took things for granted ....they were grateful for all they had unlike today...perhaps we need something like this to open the eyes of all.

  • @velocity253 Yeah right, you mean for white people only.

  • @craigblast QUOTE: "Yeah right, you mean for white people only."

Where did Velocity say anything about race? Anyone who brings up any metion of race first is... *drum roll* a RACCCIIISSSTTTT. Sorry you have a grudge against whites, why don't you quit living in the past and become part of the 21st Century?

  • @velocity253 Two words.. "respect" for others and personal "accountability". Those two things are sadly missing from our country's society today. They have been replaced with "entitlement" and "tolerance".

  • Great video - thanks for sharing!
