I saw this video a few months ago and now I'm a big fan of this tea. It's so easy to make and I drink all the time while listening to a tape of Indian music which I bought at the Indian store where I found cardamom. I love this tea so much now I'm thinking to take a trip to India !!! Thanks again for the video.
@missfaizamalik You are welcome! Though thanks for watching my video and posting your comment! I just used what ever I can grab with my thumb and finger. However, you can use more or less to your taste. Hope you will figure out the amount of cardamom you need in your tea! Good Luck!
@StacyAnnMusic Thank you for watching my video and posting your comments! Yes....you can make tea with clove. You can add whole clove or in grounded clove in the tea instead of Cardamom and ginger or with cardamom and ginger together. Though the tea will be spicy. So try little initially and add more if it does not give enough flavor. Hope you will like your tea! Enjoy!
@Bellebouttique Thank you watching my video and posting your comments! No sugar and no milk is an option too if you like that way. Though thanks for trying with sugar and milk. Hope you will like it. Enjoy!
I had Indian tea in villages across India when I was there. It was the best tea I had ever tasted; even using fresh unpasteurised cows milk and water from a well. (everything boiled, it was okay). Every time I visited a shop, or a hotel, or a village, I would ask for the same tea. I think the smell of Indian tea, and the taste, and the act of giving it is what I miss most about India. Thank you for this video I will try and make it for myself and my friends.
@Cmdouse You are welcome! Though thanks for watching my video and sharing your experience in India about tea!!! I guess minerals in water and the mike from cow (local feed to cow) and possible some other combination creates a unique taste that you cannot replicate at any other place. Good luck making your very own tea! I am sure you will enjoy it and hope you won't have difficulty making it.
@anamurbar You are welocome! Good luck! Hope you won't have difficulty making it. I am sure you will enjoy your very own cup of tea. Though thanks for watching my video and posting your comment!
@betweenyouandsky You are welcome! Though thanks for watching my video and posting your comment! The chai is not hard to make. I hope you will find cardamom without difficult. Good luck making tea and I am sure you will enjoy your very own cup of tea.
You can eliminate the need for the sansi if you just get a pot with an attached handle. Preferably one made out of Pyrex which will reduce the contaminates from boiling water in a metal container.
@Jean007pat Seems like the sensible option since you eliminate the almost certain occurrence of the sansi slipping and splattering boiling hot water all over yourself.
This is so helpful. Thank you so much. I'm gonna try to make this again. I have tried a couple of times already but I can't seem to get the taste of the one i have tried in one of the Indian restaurant in my hometown.. (cebu phils.) I liked it so much.
I just wonder if you can share how to cook some of the popular veggie dish in India. I so love to know. :-)

This looks yummy but can you please tell me how much of the ingredients to add? I see how many tea bags and how much water and milk, but how much ginger, cardamom and sugar? Can I use ground cardamom? Thank you :)
@sarababe74 Thanks for watching my video and posting your comments!!! If you never had ginger before in your tea, try adding a small amount before you venture out for more, please take a look at 0:25 min video, the ginger in the bowl is for 2 mugs of tea. You can probably start with half that amount for 2 mugs of tea and if you still do not feel taste of ginger in your tea, add more next time. There is no fix amount of ginger you have to add, it depends on your taste bud. same for sugar & carda
I love you! Thank you! I don't know how tubby I'm going to get drinking four mugs by myself on this rainy day, but you definitely made me cozy!!! :) :)

Thanks for sharing! In many homes cardamom is added much earlier to the tea and doing so tends to wear-off/diminishes the cardamom flavor - not a good thing. Here, and also at an Indian restaurant, I noticed that cardamom is the last ingredient added just before removing the tea from heat. Hence, flavor is preserved and robust .. what I'd label "The Secret" :-)
(btw .. i also use cinnamon and cloves .. but not a requirement of course .. more suitable during colder months i think ..)
Jean007pat thank you so much! This is great. Now I don't have to go to an Indian Restaurant and pretend to order food just to have their yummy chai tea. : )
I will try this at home. However, instead of investing in a plier, I think I'll use a pot, the kind that comes with a long handle. Also instead of mortar and pestle, I might use a coffee grinder. @taylorzack78 No clove in this tea. Though you can add clove if you want to. Or you can buy tea that is already blended with clove. I hope this helps.
