  • one winged angel is truly a one-of-a kind masterpiece....nicely done

  • lol @ the babies crying because the crowd cheered at the start. It's a video game theme, not some heavy rachmaninoff piece. Go and watch The Proms by the BBC every year and the crowd are much much louder than this, and it adds to the performance of the orchestra.

  • EPIC!!!!!

What's the fuss about symphony hall etiquette? FF is a game. Most of them I'm sure are gamers XD. They, however, not clapping or shouting throughout the whole song (which 1st i thought after read some comment)

  • I was there. and I had constant goosebumps for 3 hours.

  • how could you even get the game title wrong in the description...

  • So let me get this straight... everyone is arguing about the fact that people got excited for an amazing song and started clapping for not even 5 seconds? Wow that's a bit retarded.

  • Surely you must understand that the target audience for this kind of performance probably does not actually know the "proper manner" for when watching an orchestra perform. It is safe to assume that most who are there are at their first ever live orchestra. I sure as hell know that the first time I went to one I had no idea that you were not supposed to applaud until after a piece. Fortunately for me this was explained to me beforehand by a friend.

  • cloud has 3 accounts?

  • I love this song so much, I actually found the clarinet sheet music.... And mastered it in a day.... ^^;

  • One more thing, you all seriously need to shut the fuck up. I thought when you all said the audience loudly shut up that you meant they were singing along or something. They only applauded and yelled for like 3 seconds, it wasn't even the best part of the song -.-

  • @DarthOblivius the point is you are not supposed to applaud or cheer until the performance is finished, that is the proper manner in an orchestra

  • @Epcy True but what do you expect from a room full of nostalgic gamers who get to hear the most epic song ever written played live?

  • @DarthOblivius I agree with your statement. This kind of performance is meant to be informal and bridge the gap between classical music lovers and people who otherwise won't go watch an orchestra perform live. Rules can be relaxed a little. Remember those rock group-orchestra combos? Everyone treated it like a rock concert. So, Epcy, it's ok for people to start clapping and cheering out of time. It's meant to be fun.

  • That bell gives me the shivers <3

  • I appreciate good symphony music, but does one consider, stuff like this gets more people interested in regular symphonies.

  • In the concert: One-Winged Angel is the encore. The audience did not expect to hear it. They are expected to go nuts over an extremely memorable song.

And for those interested in the words (as it appears in the music the choir's get) it's: (Taking out the repeats but keeping the original spelling and syllabic spacing)

    Es-tuans in-re-rius iira ve-he-men-ti Ce-phi-roth!

    sors imma-nis et-ina-nis

    Ve-ni ve-ni ve-ni-tas ne me mo-ri fa-ci-as

    Glo-ri-o-sa ge-ne-ro-sa Ce-phi-roth!

  • It's from VII not VI

  • What exacly are is the choir singing? Harmonic melodies or japenese lyrics? (other than the "sephiroth!")

  • @DDracee it's Latin

  • Lol @ all the orchestra elitist. Not everyone has been to a symphony hall, nor should they have to in order to appreciate the music. Some people are more enthusiastic than others in how much they love the music, they shouldn't be insulted just because they're more excited. OSTs for a game like FF will probably bring more people with no hall etiquette, than so. Get over yourselves and just enjoy the music.

  • @kinutsuki "Get over yourselves and just enjoy the music."

That's precisely the reason people shouldn't fucking scream when the music begins because then you can't hear it.

  • @asphyxiateDrake00 I can hear the song completely fine :)

  • Gasp...

  • another jewel of perfection... this is the knowledge of music....Master Uematsu

  • thank god it's not lady gaga, but if you enjoy music the least the orchestra can allow is that you show your enthusiasm about it

  • I seriously cannot wait till London on November 5th 2011. I have front arena seats and everything.

  • I got goosebumps around my ears! Fuck I'm not joking, I really got an eargasm!

  • WHY NO ROCK VERSION ??????

  • @MOKAJILA because it's damn better without the guitare. don't get me wrong, I'm a metal fan, but One-Winged Angel will always be better without the guitare

  • this song was for me. who else is burning inside with violent anger ?

  • and i thought classical music was old and boring. nobuo proved me wrong.

  • All hail Nobou Uematsu.

  • Nobuo Uemastsu is god.

  • this relit my love for FFVII after a long time of not playing it. ff13 can suck it

  • Can't wait to see this in November!!! =)

  • nice the ingame original version!

  • that's why you wear a condom.

  • I can't help but admire the performers for remaining concentrated despite the frantic reactions in the audience. Ti's so very diffcult to perform in these conditions, with all the wild cheers that take you unawares. I'm pretty sure the people in the concert hall don't even begin to realize how much they owe Mr Arnie Roth for theses concerts. His contribution is so unique and precious.

  • For someone who finds this song overrated....I still get lots of chills when I hear it xD

  • dood nice quality to the vid. its not all ditsorted. but admidably i can understand the fan girls screams and yells because it frickin sepheroth.

  • Crowd needs to show some respect.

  • ness wants big cherries in a pan with magic cheese 2x

    sephiroth2x

    XD

  • woow !

    cloud has 3 accounds!

  • cant wait to go to the one in new york baby!!!

  • i'm coming *_*

  • 1:02

    complete nerdgasm lol

  • this made my nipples hard

  • im literally crying

  • I'm going to see this concert in June in Chicago. Third row, meet n'n Greet seats. It will be the single best moment of my life

  • I was there, and I sat around 20 feet from Nobuo Uematsu. And shivers were sent down my spine when this started.

  • just bought tickets to Distant Worlds London 5th Nov 2011!!

  • OMG it's Nobuo Uemtasu :D

  • It looked like the musicians got too excited themselves they played the early part really quickly you can almost feel their excitement.

  • Yeah...whoever was yelling should punch themselves in the face.

  • Congratulations! This video has been included on the Greatest Video Game Music Performances on YouTube playlist!

  • the singing is better in teh eminence orchestra tho

  • @SnuserArne

    Stop the Presses

  • Sup with the clappin before the song starts

  • @DefectivePoliceFarce Someone probably got an award or was thanked or something, 'cause oyu can see a guy with flowers and stuff

  • @SnuserArne Pretty sure that was Nobuo Uematsu, he composed all the music for Final Fantasy.

  • @tigerclaw212142422 HE WAS THERE :O?

    I had no idea x(

  • @SnuserArne The guy holding the bouquet IS the Man...

  • I know, I know, everyone says it so often it's lost all meaning but it's still the best gaming song of all time.

  • boku ekitakata shicho :( fo those who dont speak i want to go shit but this is still amazing

  • @cyberzero808 I think you're saying it wrong...

  • I was there! It was the most epic performance ever! <3 FFVII means the world to me and there will never be anyone like Nobou Uematsu.

  • while I condone concert etiquette, I also condone the outburst of excitement that people feel when they cant contain it

  • NOBUO!!! :D

  • People, when you see an orchestra, please shut up when it starts playing. It's not Lady Gaga...

  • @DruMusica y wuld u cheer for lady gaga?

  • @pronouncedgreen Ohhh no mistake in interpretation, please. I actually think that applauding is less grave if it hides a horrible sound.

Moreover, I just prove that I respect people who buy Lady Gaga CD's... =P

  • @DruMusica well said.

  • @DruMusica Yes people should not be excited and show their appreciation for 3 seconds at the start of the song.

  • @DruMusica SERIOUSLY RIGHT?! applude before the first note and after the last people! i know... i understand ...i get excited too... but daym... kick rocks people lol

  • @DruMusica they probably love Sephiroth!!!!!

  • @Psaren7 You can listen to a thing you love. You know, to be in an orchestra, it's a lot of work, and there are rules to respect it correctly.

If I commented this video, it is because I love it just like you. I love Nobuo Uematsu, and all what he wrote !

  • @DruMusica

It must have been one amazing concert, and kudos to everyone involved for getting the audience so gleeful. This is probably the only concert series for which any of those musicians will ever be cheered on like that. For a night, they get to be beloved like other, less talented but more high-profile musicians in society today. Did you see how much the director was smiling? If he didn't want to hear happy fans, he wouldn't have played the concert. And, they were quiet once it started.

  • @Hydrocarbonateable I understand what you say, I know that breaking rules is exciting and creates pleasure. I don't think so. I think that a respectful listening, less exciting, is a way to create good memories of that collective work. On the long term, I prefer that. I accept that it be a point of view.

  • @Hydrocarbonateable I completely disagree. The cheers and applause come AFTER the song is finished. Not before. Trying to sell off that loud disgrace during the intro as 'a unique kudos that the symphony never gets' is complete and utter bullshit....Not to mention you blatantly lie; they were NOT quiet once it started. In fact, they cheered and clapped over the first couple seconds of the song! That's why Dru is saying 'shut up' to begin with. If you're going to post. Think first. Post second.

  • @DruMusica

True, because the audience is made up of old coots with monocles and fat ladies who know nothing about music and would just like to parade their jewelries with other fat housewives.

  • @DruMusica well maybe u should know that Arnold Roth actually enjoys ppls enthuiasm very much.

I just come back from the Distant Worlds concert in Krakow, Poland last friday. saturday was a meet & greet.

There, Arnie said FF concerts are unlike any other concerts he gives (WoW game music concerts for example)

With FF people always freak out about their favourite songs and he thinks that totaly cool.

  • @DruMusica You are correct. Everyone else posting in disagreement is probably a twit who's 'never' been to a symphony hall in their life.

  • @DruMusica for sure people doenst respect a mastier piece tssss

  • @DruMusica At shows like Video games Live and Play!, they specifically ask you to cheer your hardest every time you hear something you like.

  • SEPHIROTH!!

  • Smile please!

  • AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

i want to go soooooooooooo baaaaaaaddddddddddddd!!!!!!11

    xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • I'm so glad I'm getting to see Distant Worlds concert next year in Sydney :D

  • @kupOnut11 Me too!! Booked and booked! Gonna be epic!

  • @kupOnut11

WHO ISNT ITS GOING TO BE AMAZING

  • The conductors always look like they're having great fun!

  • sweden? sweet!

  • 2 people cant beat seprioth...

  • Too fast...

  • Evil > More Evil > Most Evil > Sephiroth > Sephiroth's Theme

  • as i have realized from watching this video and other videos related to this..the tempo was a bit fast... was it because of the conductor Mr. Arnie Roth..

the tempo was really different from the earlier versions...

but i was really impressed it was very ORGANIZED>>>>>>

  • @veejayhendric121 Yeah. Arnie Roth tends to make his concerts in a faster tempo. I guess it is his trademark and/or cup of tea :P

  • It's VII not VI stupid!

  • They're going a little too fast, I kinda like it better that way though. :)

  • I know what I want for Christmas now :D

  • @SinOfTheHeart Your own personal orchestra to perform this whenever you get into a fight with somebody?

  • dancing mad and one winged angel are the best songs ever

  • absolutley amazing, nobuo uematsu is this generations mozart! :D

  • I just saw distant worlds here in Houston TX and when they did One WInged Angel the crowd went Hysterical.

  • I love this song, but i can't help to say that Sephiroth was a prick. LOL

  • OMG the shivers, OMG the nerdgasm <3

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Stockholm? ... Stockholm!?

    Varför har ingen berättat om det här för mig!? ;_;

  • 1:03 when the music started...WOW

  • Man..the part where the choirs came in..totally got the shivers down my spine. Amazing song. Love how they played the game footages in the background as well.

  • Woot woot! San Diego concert tickets bought, DURING Comic Con. Nerd dream come true.

  • "I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate Sephiroth."

    Your pal,

    Kefka

  • @Autolycus84 Kefka > Sephiroth

  • i got the goosebumps when i listened to this

  • I got the CD "Distant Worlds" from this Orchestra. Damn that rocks :D

  • Cant wait till this comes to Toronto in November, though, I hope people learn to shut the hell up unlike this.

  • is this Arnie Roth?

  • christ, i can't stand the guy screaming "WHOOOO!"

yes, very good, they can play music and we all appreciate it, but this isn't an amusement park ride! sit the hell down and shut up! we want to listen to the music, not some chinless wonder fanboy screaming at an orchestra!

  • I like how the crowd all cheers! xD They hear the starting of one winged angel and everyone cheers, its nice knowing that so many people love this song, Especially this song xD one of the greatest pieces ever made by Nobuo.

  • fy fan vad najs det var!!!

    Jag vill dit igen:(

  • @gaki899 Vet du när det är igen? Och fy fan vad jag är avundsjuk....

  • @MultiPettan

  • disregard that last comment..

  • of course theres no chorus... >.>

  • this sent shivers up my spine.

  • empressKasumi, very nice comment, it's redundant to the point of insanity.

  • i will be there for sure! just gotta book tickets..it will be so epic too actually be there!!!

  • wow epic. but of course nothing beats the original

  • godammit! this is so epic!!!!

  • So, who'll be going to the Distant Worlds concert this summer the 12th of June? I sure am! Already have tickets booked.

  • of all the live ones this one had the best vocals

  • Oh. My. Fuck-ING god. I am in heaven.. Imagine if I were actually there!!!!

  • I was... ^^

  • *cries* I haaate you.. :((

  • Quilian från RH? Carnivale? o_O. Jag ville dit osså men hann inte få biljett *rawr*

  • They ALWAYS play it at the end. Even after the hynm, which you suppose would be the closure.

  • I don't think the audience would have forgiven them if they didn't play this classic theme.

  • this conductor is fuckin awsome. He's the one who conducted on that one live performance with the black mages right?

  • i hope they play this next year in video game live

  • I saw this live last night in Chicago!!! Its SO AWESOME!!!!!

  • One winged Angel! - Nobuo Uematsu rules!! best composer or videogames soundtrack!

  • Nice!

  • WOW. that was AWESOME!

  • Oh god how I wish I was there listening to that..

Got major chills, pretty sure my entire arm was bumpier than a gravel road.

  • i feel ya man. How did you feel when you watched the live one with the symphony and the black mages doin this? I was absolutely floored.

  • man.. for a hand camera... this video has a pretty nice audio quality... thanks for sharing

  • I am a fan of classical music ,so this is nothing short of awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • gotta love the ending of the vid in the background. Sephiroth in the fire = BAD ASS MOMENT IN FF7

  • the choir and orchestra are spot-on. seldom have I heard such a powerful version!

  • sounds weird without nobuo uematsu's rockband, the black mages..

  • whats with all the pretentious asshats on here complaining about the way people dress. I understand the complaints about shouting during the music, but it's the year 2009, how does the way you dress, or other people dress effect the music in anyway... symphony orchestra or not. Get over yourselves.

  • nobuo uematsu I love you, is FUCKING AWESOME!! ....

  • 100 time better than the Eminence orchestra's version O_O much more organized playing!!

  • @Loryos Eminence's orchestra is also about half this size.

  • damnit why dont people use concert etiquette anymore ruins a lot

  • @Squallismyhero cuz I think that most of those people haven't been to any classical concerts before. Todays youth only knows rock, pop, and hip hop music :(

  • @Rainelfy Damn straight.

  • @Squallismyhero Yeah really. Why are people so happy?! Why aren't they sitting down all well dressed on their fancy behinds and keeping all quiet. Why should they be happy to be there or be allowed to show that happiness? OMGZ OMGZ. It's people like you that make it boring for the rest of us. Can't believe your lame ass remark got 23 thumbs up. -_____-

  • @MrPbre Honestly I prefer they had their happy asses down while listening to this... it's just proper and more enjoyable to listen to without having people yelling during the whole music sooooo

  • @AnnieTran87 People are sitting down quietly while the songs are playing, it's just afterwards and during the first notes of the songs people are showing their happiness in the way which u despise. I think the orchestra appreciates a happy response to their performance, but maybe that's just me? :p

  • @MrPbre in the beginning it was a bit annoying with all the hollering and clapping...usually it's best for me that they just stay quiet when the song starts and then do all the clapping and screaming at the end...but i went to the one in Denver a few years back and we got front row! It was amazing =D
