What is disturbing about this video is the presumption of guilt of the defendent who has only been arrested. How could she be expected to get a fair trial with this sort of prejudicial reporting?
I can imagine all the knee slapping stories this dirty bitch cop used to tell in the locker room after her shift was done about the people she busted that day. Well bitch, now you get to sit a prison cell and get told when to eat, shower, and crap.....Have a nice life.
I'm probably going to take a lot of heat for this, but I'll say it anyway: There's something not quite right about a woman wanting to become a police officer, especially in a dangerous city like L.A.
My concern is for citizens involved in a love triangle or other personal fight with a cop. Police policy is that cops may start a fight with a citizen and then use the citizens resistance to the attack as a reason to subdue him with any force necessary. That's not what they teach in law school but it is the Law of Cops on the Street.
If Lazarus had used that defense in 1986 would she have walked? I wouldn't want to bet a cop on the street my life against it.
Ruetten invited Lazarus to his town house when he knew his wife would be returning from work. He orchestrated the altercation between Lazarus and his wife during which time Lazarus bit Rasmussen. He finally broke up the fight and sent Lazarus on her way. After Lazarus was gone Ruetten shot and killed his wife. If you examine the facts in this case you can see how it really happened. Don't get hung up on DNA when all the other evidence points to Ruetten as the one who murdered Rasmussen.
LAPD doesn't have the crooked bastard Darryl Gates covering up crimes by their own anymore. It ain't the 80's anymore. I hope they execute this evil witch. The original Detectives should be in jail too since they treated the victim's family so bad.
i agree. i feel sorry for everyone. But I dont know how the detective could go about with her life like nothing happened. How can she feel comfortable convicting other people when deep down she knew what she had done. How could she testify against other people. That shows utter lack of conscious. Its great that finally she could nto abscond from justice.
Here is a suggestion for all you folks looking for love or friendship: stay away from cops.
Don't date cops. Don't be friends with cops. Don't talk to cops except to use these words: "I want an attorney." Google Drew Peterson. If you have a problem with a particular cop, leave that cop's jurisdiction and get an attorney immediately.
My uncle was a cop and so is my cousin. They're some of the most awesome people I ever met, and definitely the last people on earth I'd be running from--unless I was a criminal, that is.
How many innocent people did DET. LAZARUS put on death row for the past 25 years for her crimes? If its true she murdered an innocent person when off duty and then plant the evidence on someone else then all of the LAPD records she has might be questioned.
There's more than one rotten apple in a bunch that size... I hope all the offenders she was involved with get another chance. I wonder how much evidence she faked over the years!

@MikeDavis747 Why would a man (Ruetten) who just got married, kill his wife (Rasmussen)? There is no motive to this ridiculous theory.

Love, jealousy, and other emotions drive people to do things. This is a sad story for everyone involved in this situation.
