I dont think than that entity working and being in every aspect of the universe (microscopical, mechanical, and an infinite etc) in such harmony to be a childish metaphor, but definetly it is when we give him a human aspect who makes miracles and judges our actions.
We're not so free as we may think, we understand our thoughs and emotions, but we can't control the very beggining of them. Free will is a part of the inclination to guilt and judgment, maybe responding to an instint of social order.
@Caesar88888 The main point however is that no man, woman or scripture can know anything about the only kind of god that could possible exist - knowing what we know about the universe. Even if we would be toold we would not possible understand what such a hypotetical being had in his/her/its mind. You could not, I could not, your guru could not, the Vedas could not, the priests could not...etc. etc......
@Caesar88888 Vedas, Bible, Quran are all man made my friend. They only survive true the ages because they give people a "feeling of being menataly high". Much as music do for me.
@Caesar88888 I also see the world around us as enough of a "religious experience". To me mythical beings do not add to my fascination or humbleness when think about the universe or the complexity of reality.
I find gods to be childish metaphors for the beauty and awesomeness that are there to bee seen in reality.
@Caesar88888 Chanting does give you an ecstasy sure. I have experienced the same thing many times as a musician. It´s not magic it´s your brain responding to the inner order, rhythm and harmonies of the music. Could be any music you happen to like but preferably music with much repetition. Listen to this or any other music you like with the same ears you have when you chant. I would not be surprised if you could feel that same kind of high.
@Caesar88888 "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." Buddha
I like to hear and read all about Star Trek.
I like to watch images of Star Trek.
devotees of Star Trek are the best people i ever met.
@Caesar88888 But now you are a adult man and I wan´t you to know that, when it comes to the question if there are a god or not, there is no one to trust beside your own reason and common sence. Your guru could not know any more about that than you, me or anyone else.
@Caesar88888 Math is invented by man and could be understood by men. If there are a creator of this universe he would be unintelligible to you, me and your guru. No one could know for sure if there is such a god or not but we can know for sure that anyone that claims insight in the nature of such a divine entity is either deceived or a deceiver.
@Caesar88888 Besides this line of thought is not a about god but the possibility of a god - knowing what we know about the world and the universe. My conclusion is that such a god is a way to complex entity to be the cause of the universe. (Occam's razor)
However IF there are such a entity it could not be anything like the puny gods of human religions. There for no priest or guru can be trustedas as the only god still possible, knowing what we know, could not be understod by man.
@Caesar88888 Because of that fact we can know that all religious proselytizers are either deceivers or deceived.
The kind of god that are (and can be) the object of a religions are to puny, to human, to have anything to do with the creation of the universe we know. Such a god would dwarf all the ideas of a god understood and portrayed by any priest or guru.
@Faidros62 Sure, there are probably heaps of people teatering on belief and non-belief out there, but if experts like Dawkins and Hitchens can't get to them, what are your chances?
@AntiChristianAngel1 Well maybe I can provide yet another angel? And... if you do not think little people like you and me can have an influence why are you even bothering making comments? :)
@Faidros62 I'm supporting a fellow atheist by pointing out the flaws in the presentation of his/her logic. Consequently, when I look at your next video (or maybe the one after) I might be able to say: "Hey, this guy/girl's right on it."
Logic 2: If there is a god, why would 'he' (excuse the sexism, but if the bible can do it, so can I) conceal 'himself', from human beings? What would he have to gain from this? Christians, of course, will give you biblical interpretations of why god doesn't reveal himself to us but none of these stand up lateral thinking. (Surprise, surprise.)
And what's this trite about 'atheists not proving there is no god'? Since when is the onus of proof on atheists? We're not the ones who claim something exists without evidence! Our claim remains steadfast, there is no god. The proof exists because there is no evidence to the contrary. If Christians/Muslims and other similar organisations of intellectual moderates would like to prove us wrong by proving that their is a god, I'm sure atheists would be delighted to see it. I want front a row seat.
@AntiChristianAngel1 You are bashing in open doors! I agree with you! What I am talking about is "the god of the gaps", the god that believers argue for as soon as there is a question science has not yet answered.
Science has left little room for a god but IF there is such a thing would it be anything like Abraham's god?
I don´t believe there are such a god! I have just been thinking about the consequences if there would be a god in the gaps.
@Faidros62 My rhetoric is aimed at your viewers rather than you, the contributor. But you don't help your case by making silly statements. I'm well aware of Dawkin's notion of the God of Gaps. As soon as there's missing evidence in a scientific theory which risks drawing the god-crap into question (but don't they all?), the Abrahamics are onto it like blowflies on cow shit. That's because it's their only defence. Desperate people do desperate things.
@AntiChristianAngel1 I´m happy to discuss this topic with you or anyone as long as we can keep it civil. This is just my thoughts. I do not think they are silly or I would not have posted them. But they are just my thoughts and I do not claim they have any importance beyond that.
Ok, if you're going to believe in something, then you need to be logical about it. There's no use defending the indefensible because you just make a fool out of yourself. Hence, people will automatically assume you are a Christian or Muslim, because that's exactly what they do persistently. Logic 1: If there was a god, it would be the most obvious thing in the universe. All humanity, and beyond, would be able to witness it. There would be no misinterpretations or differences of opinions ...
@Faidros62 I did. You've said that it's "nature, will and preferences would be unintelligible to us", and that doesn't make sense, so I told you to "get an intellect". Your point is...??
@AntiChristianAngel1 The point is that the one possible god that still reminds, when Genesis has been refuted and no god is to be seen anywhere in this huge universe, would be unintelligible to us.
There fore any claim to know that gods will would bee futile. There for we can be sure all religious proselytizers are either decivers or decived whether there are a creator god or not.
@Faidros62 (1) Reasonable people and/or non-indoctrinates don't need biblical quotes and interpretations to work out there's no such thing as god. (2) Indoctrinates and sub-intellects won't be influenced by what you assert anyhow. They'll always find some way of maintaining their belief in god-crap. (You, for example, are just another Satanic temptation.) They only break free if they decide to do so.
@AntiChristianAngel1 (Let me refrase part of that) I agree most of the religious people will not listen to what I have to say. But even if I am only able to open a small crack in the psychological defences of only one believer I would regard it as a success!
And of course atheist is not the ones I had in mind making this video.
I think your view are a little to black and white also. I know there are a lot of fence sitters out there.

Yeah little child cant understand what his great father thinks about.
But they still love each other.
Child communicates with father on his/her simple level.
For example child gives father some sweets (which were actually bought by father).
And this is very simple, but father is pleased.
We cant understand God completely, but He gives us vedas to set the connection.

@Caesar88888 Don´t you see the only father figure there are in this case is your guru! You trust him to know things he can not possible know.

I dont know who is God and how is universe build.
I know that this Hare Krishna mantra can give an extasy.
I felt it myself many times.
Now i think its better to die than to live without Hare Krishna Maha mantra.
Its better than sex, better than alcohol.
You think about God when you see tremendous galaxies
I think about God when i chant or hear Hare Krishna mantra.

When i was child i hated school.
My common sense was saying - Go eat 1kg of sweets and watch tv all day.
But my father had better common sense - he forced me to study, and now iam very pleased, bacause i can read and write here on youtube =)
