Last year, for a book study, my class studied the book I Am David. I have yet to see the movie but I would gladly watch it. Beautiful work :')

IMHO The movie was 5/10 and book 10/10. The only great thing was Jim Caviezel.. In the movie they take out Psalm 23, add a Catholic saint, and Johannes dies differently.. :( And the dog, King isn't in it. But the book I love!!

It's one of the most touching movies I've ever seen. At the beginning it wasn't so special, but later movie was more and more interesting for me and really touched me at the end...

Just watched the movie a few days ago and finished the book a week ago. I really dont get why they took out the most important part with King!! like really! and also David described Maria as being pretty, but imo shes super ugly lol. Its funny when hes with sophie and is Hugging the cat and says "shes vibrating" Lol i laughed, but it WAS a sad book and movie, really good though! loved it.

I was in tears long before he got home. I can relate to the character on certain levels more than I wish. I love this movie.  So filled with the hope, strength & frailty of the human spirit, all at once. This is one of my favorite movies.

The guard knew David took his soap, the guard knew the Johannes was a very good to David.

and it was obvious that the guard didnt want to kill Johannes either, but he had to.

really? Personally, I thought it was a good part. Sad, but goood. Your right though, about the guard, yet it lead to David's devolpement in the story.
